            Thur. Jan 1: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I was about sick the children done the chores and in the afternoon we all took a ride down to Salem & on around by East Hebron & it was night when we got home it was about dark & it got colder than fury we had bad luck 2 blow outs. It is a cloudy day & warm till most night & it got cold fast."

            Fri. Jan. 2: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the other boys & I done the chores & I chored around till noon & in the afternoon Harold & I went over & Helped Smith to thresh corn & it kept getting colder all day   it is a rough & windy day."

            Sat. Jan. 3: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores & we chored around & sat around the house & in the afternoon the boys & I drawed the potatoes that was in the barn cellar to the house cellar. It is a cold day but pleasant. the Census Man was along. John Cuthbert"

            Sun. Jan. 4: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle drove the big team  Harold, Marion & Hazel went church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school & Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters & done the chores & it is a nice pleasant but very cold"

            Mon. Jan. 5: "  20º below at Argyle  In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I chored around & sorted some potatoes It is a nice pleasant day but very cold. Winter in earnest"

            Tues. Jan. 6: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores & when I got back I chored around & sorted some potatoes & it is a nice pleasant day but very cold."

            Wed. Jan. 7: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I got back I chored around & sorted some potatoes and it is a nice pleasant day but very cold."

            Thur. Jan. 8: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle & the other boys and I done the chores I chored around & sorted some potatoes & Florence Chamberlain came over & stayed all day & Marion went home with her It is a cloudy day some warmer looks like a storm"

            Fri. Jan. 9: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle & Harold & I done the chores I chored around and sorted some potatoes and about noon the Man or Mohigan truck came here for a load of potatoes & Harry was over here and he & I helped him to load up It came on snow about 9 o'clock & snowed about all day about 4 inches to cold for potatoes. getting colder all day."

            Sat. Jan. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & John C & I done the chores and when the boys got back we leveled off the ice house. & put the boards on & we put some saw dust in the bottom & then chored around and it is a nice pleasant day   we drawed over the apples from the barn cellar to the House cellar   we drawed them over in the sleigh"

            Sun. Jan. 11: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & drove the big team   the boys done the chores and Marion, Hazel, Marjory, Harold, James & John C. went to church in 2 rigs and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school & Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters & done the chores & it is a nice pleasant day but cold."

            Mon. Jan. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores & when I came back I chored around till noon & in the afternoon I went down to the Auction at the McAuley place & I took in the money for Lewis. It is a nice pleasant day but cold."

            Tues. Jan. 13: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores & when I came back I chored around & sorted some potatoes most of the day   It is a cloudy day & snowed part of the day  2 inches & cold too."

            Wed. Jan. 14: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores & when I came back I chored around and sorted some potatoes. some sleighs & wagons going now pleasant but colder In the afternoon the Mohigan man came out with a truck & got a load of potatoes 65 bu at 1.50 per bu. It is windy & getting colder all the time"

            Thur. Jan. 15: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and when I got back I chored around & sorted some potatoes   we drive sleighs now   It is a very cold day."

            Fri. Jan. 16: "   42º below at Argyle   In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores and & when I got back I chored around & sorted some potatoes & I put up part of a grist   It is a pleasant day but very cold."

            Sat. Jan. 17: "  6º below   In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & Harold went to   we drove the big team and it snowed last night & to day about 5 inches in all   it is very good sleighing now & when we came back we chored around & it kept getting colder all day at night the McAuley House burned down"

            Sun. Jan. 18: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle  I drove the big team and it is a very windy day blowed a Hurricane all day & drifted in places a West wind we did'nt  go to church any of us so all stayed at home and done the chores  a terrible day"

            Mon. Jan. 19: "In the morning the boys & I shoveled snow in the road below the barn & then Harold & I took the milk down to Argyle and the roads were very good that way and we done the chores & in the afternoon Harold & Hazel went down to school at West H. and I chored around and it is a nice day only cold   it looked like a storm at night"

            Tues. Jan. 20: "    15º below   In the morning I took a grist out to Fort Edward & took the milk to Argyle and I had to wait a long time for the grist   it is a cloudy day & looked like snow & after night it did snow   Harold was at home and he done the chores   it is a bitter cold day."

            Wed. Jan. 21: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I done the chores & when Harold came back we went at drawing ice we got 5 loads for the mud lake & we packed it as we drawed it and it is some cloudy & warmer but the wind got in the north at night & was quite cold again. Marion took Hazel down to school in the afternoon."

            Thur. Jan. 22: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores & when I got back we went at the ice again   we got 3 big loads and that is all of it   107 cakes in all and it is a nice pleasant day   thawed some in the sun but a very cold night   Harold went to school alone to day."

            Fri. Jan. 23: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I got back we packed the rest of the ice & put some sawdust on the ice and Harold went to school alone to day & in the afternoon Marion went down to Geo. McKernons & got a jar of Butter   it began snowing at night again."

            Sat. Jan. 24: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I had hard work to get through it was drifted  it is cloudy and snow part of the day & got colder   we chored around and about night we went at opening out the roads and a north wind cold too. We put some more saw dust on the ice"

            Sun. Jan. 25: "In the morning after we done part of the chores we went at plowing out the roads and did'nt go to church nor take the milk it snowed about 4 inches more last night   It is a pleasant day but cold."

            Mon. Jan. 26: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & drove the big team and it is a nice pleasant day but very cold   the boys done the chores and when I came back we chored around and covered the ice with sawdust & I sorted a few potatoes & husked some corn"

            Tues. Jan. 27: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores & when I came back I chored around and sorted a few potatoes and husked some corn and it is a cloudy day & warmer looked like rain but got colder at night   Lydia came up with Hazel & Harold from school & stayed all night."

            Wed. Jan. 28: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I chored around & sorted a few potatoes & husked some   it snowed some but did'nt amount to much   cleared of & got cold."

            Thur. Jan. 29: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and brought home the Groceries & it is a fearful cold morning  I chored around & sorted a few potatoes  it was some warmer at night."

            Fri. Jan. 30: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it is a nice warm day some cloudy & looked like a storm but got colder at night again   wind was in the north. I husked some & sorted a few potatoes."

            Sat. Jan. 31: "   15º below here     In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores & it is the coldest morning we have had yet  a terrible north wind and it is a fearful cold day  we chored around I sorted a few potatoes & about night our water at the barn yard quit running   It frooze up   a fearful cold night."

            Sun. Feb. 1: "10º below   We did'nt take our milk nor we did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and done the chores  our water at the barn yard quit running last night or frooze up we had to take the young cattle down to the swamp to get a drink & we take the horses & cows up to the spring & dip the water in 2   ½ barrels. it is very cold."

            Mon. Feb. 2: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle with the big team & sleighs and the boys done the chores & went to school    when I came back I chored around  sorted some potatoes and in the afternoon it was nice & pleasant   Mother, Marion & Harry Oliver took the babe for a ride down to West Hebron & it is a fine day   warmer & pleasant."

            Tues. Feb. 3: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and went to school    when I got back I husked some corn & sorted some potatoes  it is cloudy & a nice day but got colder at night."

            Wed. Feb. 4: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores & went to school but John C. he stayed at home and when I came back I chored around. I sorted some potatoes and at night Harold, Marion & Hazel went down to West Hebron to a party for Lydia & they all stayed all night at Everetts and it is a nice day mild & pleasant."

            Thur. Feb. 5: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and James & John C done the chores and when I came back it snowed  I went up in the woods with John Liddle to see about some wood & I chored around husked some & sorted some potatoes & the children did'nt come home they stayed all night again at Everetts it is a blizzard in earnest snowed & blowed all day drifted in places"

            Fri. Feb. 6: "We did'nt take the milk  as soon as we done part of the chores James & I went at opening out roads but is blowed & kept drifting so it did'nt pay to do it. I went over part of the route 2 times  It was drifted so bad that the children could'nt get home so had to stay down and it is a fearful day  blowed all day & night too."

            Sat. Feb. 7: "We did'nt take the milk down   as soon as we done part of the chores we went at opening out the roads  we got through them about 1 O'clock we had to shovel a lot. the roads are in terrible shape around here  the children did'nt get home again the roads are not open yet they started but had to turn around & go back the wind don’t blow to day much the snow packed some."

            Sun. Feb. 8: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle 3 days milk and I drove the team & big sleighs roads are open to Argyle and James & John C. done the chores and when I came back we watered the young cattle and about noon Marion, Hazel & Harold came home and there was no services at our church  the Ministers House Keeper is dead   it is a nice day   no wind to day."

            Mon. Feb. 9: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back Harold & I went out on the road & shoveled snow for about 3 hours and then I chored around and husked some corn & I sorted a few potatoes and it is a nice pleasant day cool mornings & nights some roads are not open yet."

            Tues. Feb. 10: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it snowed like vengence all the time the boys done the chores when I came back I chored around sorted a few potatoes and husked some corn and Hazel & Harold did'nt go to school to-day  it snowed till about 2 or 3 O'clock

6 or 8 inches more of the beautiful and very dry & light but no wind."
            Wed. Feb. 11: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I done the chores and I sorted some potatoes & husked some corn and we watered all the cattle to day & chored around & Mother went over to see Rubys boys awhile  lots of snow now   I sold a load of potatoes for 2.50 per bu.   Barney McKinney Hudson Falls.
            Thur. Feb. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I brought up Dr. Lewis to see Harry & Will Jones took him back to Argyle and it is a nice day Harold & Hazel did'nt go to school to-day but at night our folks all went down to West Hebron to a show & I stayed at home & kept the babe."

            Fri. Feb. 13: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I brought the Dr. up to Smiths and Harold & Hazel went to school to-day and it came on snow & snowed all day quite a storm but it was not very cold & Mother was over at Smiths all day  the children are sick over there."

            Sat. Feb. 14: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle with the big team   I was sick a bed all day & marion was too the boys done the chores and it is a beautiful day warmer & the snow packed some  the Doctor was up to see us and we are some better at night."

            Sun. Feb. 15: "It is a stormy day and it kept getting colder all day I got up & Harold & I done the chores the children are all about sick to day  Hazel is up around but is about sick & I am about all in   so is Mother   terrible storm blowing a gale all day."

            Mon. Feb. 16: "Harold & I done the chores but the roads are all nearly full yet. Charley McNeil drove up here from the school House & opened the road and the children are all down sick but Harold he helps me to do the chores and I am hardly able to do that with   Mother has more than her hands full but keeps around  In the morning we found Mollie down & could'nt get her up"

            Tues. Feb. 17: "Harold & I does the chores I got up & had to go back to bed again but I finally got up and done the chores A gang of men came up & cleaned out the road above us & the Doctor got up here to see us. He says they are getting along well as could be expected they cough fierce. Mollie the black Mare died   the road men helped me to get her out of the barn and it is a cold day & snowed some too."

            Wed. Feb. 18: "In the morning Harold & I after we done part of the chores we took the milk down to Argyle and we had to go through the fields and over drifts & everwhere abut but got down and got some groceries & got the mail  the children are about the same  cough some thing fierce."

            Thur. Feb. 19: "We are having a nother storm   wind & snow   the children are some better I guess   Harold & I are doing the chores the roads are drifted full again about night Harold & I drove down to the McAuley place & opened out the road   Smiths babe died to-day."

            Fri. Feb. 20: "In the morning Harold & I done the chores and I sorted a few potatoes   the Dr. got up to day  Stillman to see the children   he thinks they are doing very well"

            Sat. Feb. 21: "In the morning after we done part of the chores I took the milk down to Argyle and got some groceries   the roads are very good   when I got back Harold & I chored around   the children are all up & feel some better and it is a nice day but cold last night"

            Sun. Feb. 22: "Harold &  does the chores and we are well yet   the children feel pretty good the babe don't feel very good   the roads are all open again  snowed a little in the night."

            Mon. Feb. 23: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & we done part of the chores before I went & Harold has a tooth ache & don't go out much   James & John C. got out to help me some at the chores  it is a nice day only cloudy & began snowing again before night   the children are getting along pretty well only the babe  she don't get along at all   the Dr. was here."

            Tues. Feb. 24: "It snowed about 6 or 8 inches more last night   James & John C helped me to do some chores  Harolds tooth aches yet & he stays in the house   I chored around sorted a few potatoes and it is a nice day cloudy"

            Wed. Feb. 25: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I chored around husked some corn & sorted a few potatoes   the Dr. was up to see the babe  she is no better   it is a cool raw day."
            Thur. Feb. 26: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle with Prince and the boys done the chores and it is a cold day but pleasant  I chored around & sorted a few potatoes and the Dr. was up to see the babe  she is not much better."

            Fri. Feb. 27: "In the morning the boys & I done part of the chores & then we loaded up a grist & I took it out to Fort Edward & got it ground & I took the milk  the boys done the chores   I got home before chored time and it is a nice pleasant day only cold. the Dr was up to see the babe  she is some better."

            Sat. Feb. 28: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I chored around sorted some potatoes and after we watered the cows I went over on the other road & shoveled out some snow of the upper track   the Dr. was up to see the babe she is getting better now."

            Sun. Feb. 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & I done the chores & John C. and it is a nice day warmer it snowed about 2 inches last night   We did'nt any of us go to church."

            Mon. Mar. 1: " 12º below In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it was cold   the boys done the chores   we began feeding hay at the lower barn when I came back I chored around sorted  few potatoes and it is a nice pleasant day but very cold for March   it was quite cold at night & windy"

            Tues. Mar. 2: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & it was cold the boys done the chores and when I came back we loaded up a load of potatoes & 3 bbls of Apples & I took them out to Hudson Falls to Barney McKinney 45½ bu potatoes at 2.50 a bu & Apples at $ a bbl and I got home after dark awhile  the boys done the chores and Smith took a load out   we went along in company   it was a nice pleasant day but cold it thawed some"

            Wed. Mar. 3: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & the boys and I done the chores & then I went at sorting potatoes & I got a load sorted and Everett brought an Eye man here & Mother & I got each a pair of glasses 10.00 each and in the afternoon I husked corn awhile & the boys done the chores and it is warmer & a nice day it thawed some to day"

            Thur. Mar. 4: "In the morning after we done part of the chores we loaded up a load of potatoes & Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I took the potatoes out to Glens Falls 49 bu at 2.50 per bu to the Mohigan Company and the boys done the chores and I got home about night and it was hard going too much snow to Fort Edward & then in the Falls poor sleighing   It is a nice pleasant day thawed some  cool in the morning."

            Fri. Mar. 5: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and I done the chores & then I sorted potatoes till noon & in the afternoon I husked some corn and chored around & it thawed quite a lot the water started running before night in places   it was fearful going   horses slumped in out of sight in places most   it rained at night & got colder & began snowing in the night"

            Sat. Mar. 6: "Blizzard    In the morning it was snowing & blowing a terrible gale   it kept blowing & drifting all day I guess   it is the worst storm yet   it snowed about 1 foot I guess   it kept us busy doing chores most of the day and it is getting colder."

            Sun. Mar. 7: "In the morning after we done the chores we all took shovels and went at shoveling out the road  we did'nt get over to Smiths and in the afternoon it took all afternoon to open a road to the swamp to water the cows and it is a nice day only cold & some windy in the afternoon."

            Mon. Mar. 8: "In the morning after we done the chores we took our shovels & started to open the road & Smith helped us & we shoveled till noon & in the afternoon we took the team over & opened the road down to the pines & we had to shovel a lot more & it took most all afternoon. Smith helped us and it is a cold day for the time of year."

            Tues. Mar. 9: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle 4 days milk & the boys done the chores and they shoveled some snow & I did when I came back & Hopkins men & team was up her & opened the road down to Lants turn we helped some and it is a nice day some warmer."

            Wed. Mar. 10: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores the children went to school & in the afternoon Mother took Hazel down to West Hebron & left her she is going to board at Everetts and I sorted some potatoes & husked some corn & it is a warm day & thawed some   the snow settled some."

            Thur. Mar. 11: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I sorted potatoes & chored around and it is a cloudy day it rained some the snow is settleing now."

            Fri. Mar. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and I sorted potatoes & husked corn and it is a rainy day pretty soft & slumpy   water every where now   it is warm & thawing fast now."

            Sat. Mar. 13: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & John C & I done the chores and then I sorted potatoes till noon & in the afternoon I husked corn & the boys done the chores and it began snowing in the morning & then turned to rain & later it turned to snow & we had a nother young blizzard and it got colder we put up part of a grist"

            Sun. Mar. 14: "We all stayed at home and chored around & we did'nt take the milk   cloudy & cold   drifted again and in the afternoon we took the team & broke out the roads but they were not very bad and it is a winters day. cold at night."

            Mon. Mar. 15: "In the morning after we milked we loaded up a grist & I took the milk down to Argyle & then took the grist out to Fort Edward & got it ground but had to wait a long time I took out 3 bbls of apples for $12.00 and the boys done the chores and it is a nice day only cold good sleighing."

            Tues. Mar. 16: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back John Liddle came over & helped me to husk corn awhile & in the afternoon he went home and I sorted some potatoes and it rained quite a lot & thawed warm snow is going or settleing fast  lots of water."

            Wed. Mar. 17: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I sorted some potatoes & chored around & husked some corn and it is a nice day thawed some & in the afternoon Marion drove the team up to Edward Pollocks & got some butter and the water is high yet but it got colder at night."

            Thur. Mar. 18: "In the morning we milked & then loaded up a load of potatoes & I took the load out to Fort Edward. Giants 46 bu @ 2.70 & I took the milk down to Argyle with me and the boys done the chores & it is a nice pleasant day   thawed alot   sleighing is poor in places."

            Fri. Mar. 19: "In the morning after we milked we loaded up a load of potatoes and I took the load out to Fort Edward 45a bu at 2.70 per bu. and the boys done the chores and I got home before night awhile   at night the boys and I put up a load of potatoes   It is a nice day but got cloudy & began snowing   Marion drove down to West Hebron & got Hazel."

             Sat. Mar. 20: "In the morning it was snowing & had snowed about 6 inches   after we milked we loaded up a load of potatoes & I took them out to Fort Edward  59 bu at 2.70 per bu & Harold took the milk down to Argyle & when he came back they sorted part of a load of potatoes and it is a cloudy & nasty day   it snowed quite a lot.  a load went nice to day."

            Sun. Mar. 21: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & the rest of us done the chores & it is a nice pleasant day warm & thawed a lot to-day. We did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home & done the chores. it is a nice pleasant day  it thawed quite a lot."

            Mon. Mar. 22: "In the morning after we done the milking we loaded up a load of potatoes & I took them out to Fort Edward Giants to Will McWhorter & Harold took the milk down to Argyle & he stayed at home & done chores & sorted potatoes & the sleighing is getting thin in places   it is a nice day   thawed a lot."

            Tues. Mar. 23: "In the morning after we milked we loaded up a load of potatoes & I took them out to Fort Edward Giants at 2.70 a bu. and Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the sleighing is about gone  it is a nice warm & pleasant day   it thawed a lot and the boys done the chores   I got home in good season."

            Wed. Mar. 24. In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and when I got back I topped the trees & chored around & husked some corn and it is a nice pleasant day warm & thawed a lot   I took the milk in a wagon."

            Thur. Mar. 25: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and I husked corn most of the time I had and it is a nice day   no school to day   it is a nice warm day sap don't run much."

            Fri. Mar. 26: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys  done the chores and I chored around and husked corn and it is a nice pleasant day   warm & thawed quite a lot."

            Sat. Mar. 27: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle John C & I done the chores and I husked corn till the boys came home   they brought home the spray pump & Harry came over & we went at spraying the cow stable & after dinner we went over & sprayed his stable and it is a cloudy day and was some cooler."

            Sun. Mar. 28: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and Harold, Marion & Hazel went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron & it is a nice pleasant day thawed alot cool air it is very muddy now."

            Mon. Mar. 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and John C & I done the chores and Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron to school and I husked corn & sorted some potatoes and in the afternoon Mother & I went down to Dewey Cornells Mothers funeral & the boys came home from school & went up to Hugh Weirs Auction and it is a cloudy day   rained some now & then   the snow is going every day quite fast   lots of Banks"

            Tues. Mar. 30: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I husked some corn & sorted some potatoes and it is a cloudy day some windy & cool."

            Wed. Mar. 31: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I got back I husked some corn & sorted some potatoes and it is a nice pleasant day   warm & thawed a lot   terrible going   it acts like spring now."

            Thur. Apr. 1: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and I done some business at the Bank and I got home about noon & in the afternoon I went down to West Hebron to pay off the McAuley women & Harry Oliver went too. and it is a nice pleasant day warm & it thawed a lot very muddy & hard going"

Apr. 2: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores and when I got home I husked some corn & sorted some potatoes and it is a cloudy day & rained some   a nasty time no mistake    Marion drove the big team down to West Hebron & got Hazel & John Weirs girl."

            Sat. Apr. 3: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I chored around in the afternoon I husked some corn & sorted some potatoes and the boys drawed some manure done on the garden at the lower house and it is a very windy day but clear   the mud dried up to-day a lot."

            Sun. Apr. 4: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and our folks did'nt go to church to-day. and it is a cloudy day & coo  l it snowed quite a lot the ground is white again."

            Mon. Apr. 5: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and Harold did'nt go to school   no school at W. H. this week  after I got home we had a Heavy Thunder shower it rained a lot or poured terrible windy & bad roads I chored around & sorted some potatoes."

            Tues. Apr. 6: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and it is a windy cold & raw day I sorted potatoes and chored around it is a terrible windy day & colder too."

            Wed. Apr. 7: "It snowed some last night again In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle in the big wagon & brought back a load of sawdust and I got home about noon In the afternoon I husked some corn & chored around it is a nice day but cold in the morning."

            Thur. Apr. 8: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and I sorted some potatoes and husked some corn and it is a cold raw day   to cold for sap to run backward weather   keeps cold & frooze all day in the shade."

            Fri. Apr. 9: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I got back I chored around and in the afternoon Harold & I went down to John Liddles & he went with us up to the woods & went at drawing out the wood that John cut for us we got out most ½ of it and it is a nice day only cold nights very muddy going in the afternoon & frooze hard in the mornings."

            Sat. Apr. 10: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & the boys and I done the chores and I sorted potatoes and husked some corn and in the afternoon Harold & I went down to John Liddles & he helped us to draw out wood out of his woods & put it in the field & we got it all out 10 cord in all and it is a nice day warmer sap run good to-day but cold nights it acts more like spring to-day."

            Sun. Apr 11: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I done the chores James helped & Marion, Hazel & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for Sunday school and after dinner the girls, Harold & James went down to John Liddles awhile and it is a nice pleasant day warmer."

            Mon. Apr. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and I got the team shawd and in the afternoon Smith & I went down to John Liddles & sawed my wood & we got it all sawed and it rained some too   it is a cloudy day warm and rained some"

            Tues. Apr. 13: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I done the chores and I sorted some potatoes & husked some corn & chored around and it rained nearly all day & was a big rain & cool too. it quit raining at night & was cool."

            Wed. Apr. 14: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the rest helped me to load up a load of potatoes & I took the load out to Fort Edward 51 bus at 3.00 per bu and it was about night when I got home   the roads were terrible muddy   the boys had the chores about all done and it is a drying day   windy & cool too."

            Thur. Apr. 15: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the rest helped me to load up a load of potatoes & I took the load out to Fort Edward 51 bu at $3.00 per bu some Giants & some round ones It was most night when I got home and the boys had the chores most all done, it is a chilly cool day the roads are drying of some now."

            Fri. Apr. 16: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I got the grass seed and the boys done the chores and I chored around when I got home and in the afternoon I went down to the McAuley Farm & spilt at our wood and it is a  warm day drying up fast some are plowing."

            Sat. Apr. 17: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & got Prince shawd and James & John C & I drawed up 2 loads of Hay from the lower barn to the cow barn & big barn and then I husked corn till noon & in the afternoon we all took the team down to the McAuley Farm & split wood & brought home a load of limbs & chunks   it is a nice warm day."

            Sun. Apr. 18: "In the morning James & I took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & John C done the chores and We did'nt go to church to day any of us so stayed at home and kept house and it is a nice pleasant day warm too."

            Mon. Apr. 19: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I got back I chored around & in the afternoon I went down to the McAuley Farm & split at our wood & when school was out the boys brought the team down & we brought home a load of split stove wood home with us and it is a nice pleasant day warm & clear too."

            Tues. Apr. 20: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and we done the chores & then loaded up a load of potatoes and James & I took the load out to Glens Falls and had 51 bu at 3.25 early ones to Theobald and we got home about night & it is a fine day warm the warmest day yet this year and Harold & John C. & Marion had the chores about all done when we got home."

            Wed. Apr. 21: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I got back I mixed up the grass seed & sowed it on our rye and I sorted some potatoes and it rained some & it is a cloudy day & rained quite a lot."

            Thur. Apr. 22: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I husked some corn & done the noon chores & in the afternoon went down to the McAuley place & split wood & after the boys got out from school they brought the team down & got a load of split wood & I rode up & it is a cloudy day warmer & cleared off I guess."

            Fri. Apr. 23: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and it rained suds on him part way & I went over to Wm. Liddles & sowed his grass seed and it rained a lot and in the afternoon I went down & split wood & when school was out the boys brought the team down & got a load of wood blocks & I rode up & it is a cloudy day Thunder showers went around nearly all afternoon Marion went down after Hazel    I bought a mare for $115.00"

            Sat. Apr. 24: "In the morning Harold & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and Marion brought home the new Horse and our buggie Wagon & James & I done the chores & fixed the Horse stable & fixed some fence around the Hog pasture and in the afternoon the boys and I went down to the McAuley place they drawed up 2 load of wood in the block & I split wood down there and it is a cool raw windy day the roads dryed up fast to-day."

            Sun. Apr. 25: "In the morning Prince was sick & we had a Doctor from Glens Falls come out to see him. He has Pneumonia & is bad. Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle. John C & I done the chores and it is a windy & cool day but pleasant . We did'nt go to church to-day any of us   Prince is no better at night  It is a nice day cool and before night Marion & Marjory took Hazel down to West Hebron to go to school."

            Mon. Apr. 26: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I rode down to John Liddles & sowed the grass seed on his rye and I rode back with Harold and I chored around and in the afternoon the Horse Doctor came out to see Prince and he is no better   he is very sick   keeps getting worse I think   it is a nice pleasant day some cloudy & cool too   we give Prince medicine most every hour."

            Tues. Apr. 27: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon I began plowing for the first over in the back Meadow and Prince is not better but worse. and in the afternoon I did'nt do much   Prince was worse and the boys went down to the McAuley place & got a load of chunk wood."

            Wed. Apr. 28: "Prince (Pony) died    In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle   Prince was worse and kept getting worse & died about 4 O'clock   Harry was here & we took him up in the cow pasture & buried him and it is a nasty rainy time & cool too."

            Thur. Apr. 29: "In the morning we put up the rest of a grist and I took it out to Fort Edward & got it back and I took the milk down to Argyle and I got home about chore time and it is a cold raw & windy & cloudy day   very hard going   the boys done the chores."

            Fri. Apr. 30: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed nearly all day over in the back meadow & took over 2 loads of manure. and it is a nice day some cloudy."
            Sat. May 1: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and James & I drawed up a load of hay from the lower barn and then we drawed out cow manure on the field back of the barn and in the afternoon Harold & John C helped us   we got out quite a lot of it and it is quite cool & cloudy day."

            Sun. May 2: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle and James & I done the chores & We did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and kept house and it is a cloudy raw & rainy day   about night Marion & James took Hazel down to West Hebron to school   it is a showery day   rain & sunshine."

            Mon. May 3: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the rest of us done the chores & I plowed nearly all day over in the back meadow & took over 2 loads of manure and it is a nice pleasant day   not very warm   a good cool day to plow."

            Tues. May 4: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the rest of us done the chores & I sorted a few potatoes & chored around till noon & it rained a little & rained last night   it spit snow. cool  In the afternoon it cleared off & I went over and plowed in the back meadow. and took over a load of manure."

            Wed. May 5: "I plowed nearly all day over in the back meadow & I took over 2 loads of manure and in the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and we done the chores and it is a nice day to plow   cool."

            Thur. May 6: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed nearly all day over in the back meadow & took over 2 loads of manure & after school was out Harold brought over the new horse & dragged some with ½ of the smoothing Harrow & it is warmer   the little flies pester the team & man too.  James came over after school & helped me to draw of some stone."

            Fri. May 7: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed all day over in the back meadow & I finished it and when Harold got back he brought over one of Harrys Horses & he dragged with another team most of the day and it is a nice warm day   cool wind but the flies bit fierce."

            Sat. May 8: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle & Harold & I done the chores and then we took the oats over in the back meadow & I sowed them & Harold dragged at them with Spring tooth Harrow & in the afternoon we took over the grass seed & I began sowing but rain came on & stopped me & James rolled with the big team & Harold dragged with our Horse & 1 of Harrys Horses and it rained enough to send us to the house & that was about all."

            Sun. May 9: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and James took Harrys Horse over home and he brought out a new shoe & inner tubes yesterday from Glens Falls for us & we or the children tried to get the car ready for use but our pump is no good so Harry carried Hazel down to West Hebron in his car & it cleared off in the morning & is a nice day   grass begins to look green."

            Mon. May 10: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I went over back & finished dragging in the oats in the back meadow & when Harold got home he came over & rolled the oat ground till noon & I sowed the rest of the grass seed and in the afternoon I finished rolling the field and Mother drove down to West Hebron to see her Mother."

            Tues. May 11: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and after we done the chores James & I drawed up a load of rails up back & then we drawed manure up back and in the afternoon James & I fixed fence around the cow pasture and the fallow and it is a nice pleasant day cool nights & cool north wind."

            Wed. May 12: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and James & I drawed manure up back in the rear end of the big side hill and in the afternoon I plowed down in the garden at the lower place & it is hard   plows up in chunks and Marion took Mother the babe & Harry Oliver down to Argyle in the car and it is a nice pleasant day   warmer but cool nights."

            Thur. May 13: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and James & I drawed 2 loads of manure up in the back field & then drawed out back of the barn & Harold helped when he got back & we drawed the rest of the day and it is cool and getting dry."

            Fri. May 14: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and James stayed at home in the forenoon & we drawed manure up in the rear end of the big side hill and in the afternoon I finished plowing the garden down at the lower house and began plowing sod up in the rear end of the big side Hill & our folks all went down to West Hebron in the car & got Hazel   it is a cold raw day some rain too."

            Sat. May 15: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle & Harold spread manure up back & I plowed & in the afternoon the boys & I went down & fixed fence down around the cow pasture & then about 5 o'clock part of us went in the car out to Glens Falls & got the Bicycles etc and got home about sun down and it is a pleasant day but cold air   John C is sick to-day."

            Sun. May 16: "In the morning Harold & busy took the milk down to Argyle and John C is better to-day & part of us got ready & started for church but had a flat tire down by the woods & came back home and after dinner we all went down to the Cemetery and it is a nice pleasant day   warmer & getting very dry."

            Mon. May 17: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & I helped to milk and I was sick & came to the house and went to bed and was sick all day   Hazel had a bad eye & did'nt go to school & the girls helped the boys to do the chores and it is a nice day warm."

            Tues. May 18: "In the morning Marion & Harold took the milk down to Argyle in the car and I was not able to do much all day up around I helped to milk at night   Hazel was at home too. and it is warm & dry too."

            Wed. May 19: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and we took the young cattle up back for good &  Marion, Mother, Hazel, Oliver & the babe & I went out to Glens Falls. Hazel went to see Dr. Paine about her eyes. we took a grist to Fort Edward & done some errands   we got a new shoe for the car and did'nt get home till most 4 O'clock. I went up back & plowed awhile up back and it is a warm day   dry & dusty too."

            Thur. May 20: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I went up back & plowed in the rear end of the big side hill & plowed most all day. Harry got the remainder of our potatoes 5 bu at $4 per bu and it is a warm day   In the morning Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron to school   they went in the car and it is getting very dry & hard plowing. some cloudy & looks like rain."

            Fri. May 21: "In the morning Marion & Harold took the milk down in the car to Argyle   I went up back to plow but got wet   it came on rain & it rained a big rain to   grass looks fine now   I chored around  sorted some seed potatoes and split some wood at the door and chored around   the boys fixed some fence up along the big hill . and grass looks nice now."

            Sat. May 22: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and when they got back James & John C. went down to West Hebron & got Hazel and Harold was sick a bed all day & Oliver was about sick too. and I plowed all day for potatoes up in the rear end of the big side hill and it is a nice day to work   some cooler   the wind got in the north.  The plowing goes good now. We turned the cows down in the old pasture."

            Sun. May 23: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and we did'nt go to church any of us. Harold & Harry Oliver are both better to day   It is a nice pleasant day   after dinner we went down to the Cemetery and on down to South Argyle & up by the lake & down most to Salem & on our way back we broke an axle to the car.  so Marion, Hazel, James, John C & I came home a foot & Marion took the team & 3 seated Wagon & went down to George McKernon's & got the rest."

            Mon. May 24: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & I went up back & plowed & James dragged some & I spread the rest of the manure and I came down & Marion & I went down to McKernons & 2 men came from Argyle & took the car down to Argyle Garage & in the afternoon I plowed up back in the rear end of the big side hill and about night Mother took Hazel down to West Hebron to school. no school to day at W.  H."

            Tues. May 25: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed nearly all day up back & got done & dragged some 1 side with spring tooth Harrow   after school the boys drawed some manure on the field back of the barn and it is a nice pleasant day   some warmer."

            Wed. May 26: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon James & I drawed out manure awhile & then I plowed back of the barn and I plowed in the afternoon    I plowed till school was out & then the boys took the horses up back & dragged & I cut potatoes awhile and it is a nice pleasant day   hottest yet."

            Thur. May 27: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon I finished dragging the potatoes ground with smoothing Harrow & plowed till noon back of the barn & in the afternoon I marked out the potato ground up back up & down the hill   I got most all one way after school was out the boys drawed manure back of the barn and it is a Hot day getting dry again."

            Fri. May 28: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & James & I took up some seed potatoes & I marked out the rest one way & marked out the long side the other way and the boys stayed at home & helped me to plant potatoes   at or most night Harold dragged the garden at the lower house and I cut some potatoes   it is a nice pleasant day warm & dry too.  13½ bu. Pan Americans"

            Sat. May 29: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and James & I took up some seed potatoes & I marked out some and then we planted potatoes and about night I sowed the oats down in the garden & the boys dragged them in & rolled them too & I cut some seed potatoes and it is a nice pleasant day cooler & windy     7 bu Giants."

            Sun. May 30: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and there was no service at out church so we did'nt go but after dinner we started for Hudson Falls but did'nt get there   the car did'nt work very good so we came back to Argyle & home again   it is a  nice warm day & dry."

            Mon. May 31: "In the morning Harry took our milk down to Argyle & we took some potatoes up back  I marked out some & then planted what seed we had up there & then the boys went over & Helped Harry to plant corn & I cut seed potatoes and in the afternoon we all went down to Argyle & stayed till most night and we got home chores time   I cut seed potatoes & the children done the milking   it is a beautiful day but dry & dusty."

            Tues. Jun. 1: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & James & I took up some potatoes & I marked out the rest of the ground & we all planted till noon   Marion took Hazel down to W. H. to school and in the afternoon I plowed back of the barn and after school was out the boys and I went up & finished planting the potatoes up back in the rear end of the big side hill    2½ bu Giants Worth 5.00 per bu & 13½ bu seconds Pan Americans"

            Wed. Jun. 2: "In the morning Harold took our Milk & Harrys down to Argyle and I plowed on the side hill back of the barn for corn & Marion took Eliza Liddle up to Granville in the car and got home early and it is a very hot day   dry & dusty   after school was out the boys drawed out some manure back of the barn"
            Thur. Jun. 3: "In the morning Harry took the milk & the boys drawed out some manure back of the barn and I plowed up on the side hill back of the barn and after dinner I dragged some with the spring tooth & then plowed and it is a nice day warm dusty"

            Fri. Jun. 4: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed most of the day back of the barn & I got done on the side hill & then dragged the rest of the side hill with the spring tooth & Harold dragged some with one horse & ½ of the smoothing Harrow and it is a cool day & a strong north wind nearly all day   good day to work a team."

            Sat. Jun. 5: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and it began raining in the morning & rained till afternoon awhile & quit & then the boys and I drawed out manure back of the barn on the potato  covered it all overed and it was a nice rain but did'nt rain long enough   it is a cool rain  I cut seed potatoes & chored around while it rained.

            Sun. Jun. 6: "It rained more in the night & is cool too. Harold took the milk down to Argyle we did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home & kept house   before night Marion & Mary E. took Hazel down to West Hebron for school. and it is a showery day. grass is growing now."

            Mon. Jun. 7: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed nearly all day back of the barn for potatoes   at noon a Jew came & got 2 calves Mothers & Marions $37.50 for the 2   it plows nice after the rain and it is a nice day some cloudy   a fine growing time."

            Tues. Jun. 8: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle & Harold dragged with the smoothing Harrow on the side hill for corn & then I finished it and I began marking out for corn and in the afternoon Harold & James stayed at home & planted corn & I finished marking out & then helped the boys to plant & we got done and Marion & Mother took a grist out to Fort Edward & got it home & it is a nice day clear & warm too."

            Wed. Jun. 9: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle and Harold dragged with the spring tooth Harrow & I cut potatoes & then I took the team & finished plowing for potatoes all done for planting and in the afternoon I dragged with spring tooth Harrow & cut seed potatoes & it is a very Hot dry day & Marion & James & John C took a small grist out to Fort Edward & got it to and it is a nice warm day   Hot."

            Thur. Jun. 10: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle and Harold dragged the potato ground over with a smoothing Harrow & I cut potatoes & then I marked out for potatoes & in the afternoon James & I began planting potatoes back of barn & Harold helped when he got home from school & it is a warm & dry day  Hot too."

            Fri. Jun. 11: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle & I marked out the rest of the potato ground and the boys drawed out the seed potatoes for seed to plant back of the barn & then we planted potatoes after dinner we went down to Argyle to a track Meet & when we got back we finished planting potatoes & Marion & some of them went down after Hazel and it is a nice pleasant day warm too."

            Sat. Jun. 12: "In the morning Marion & John C took the milk down to Argyle & they got some work done on the car and Harold & James & I went over & helped Harry to plant potatoes we did'nt get quite planted and it is a nice pleasant day warm & very dusty & dry."

            Sun. Jun. 13: "In the morning Marion, Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle in the car and we did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and kept house. before night a little Everett & Margaret came up awhile and it is a nice day   cleared off warm rain did'nt amount to much. Hazel has a bad cold"

            Mon. Jun. 14: "In the morning Marion & John C took the milk down to Argyle in the car &  Harold took the truck Wagon wheels down to Argyle to get the tire sat & left them & Marion left the car & came home with Harold   I chored around fixed some fence. split some wood & chored around and it is a hot & dry day. Hazel is about the same   Marion took her down to Ex at W. H."

            Tues. Jun. 15: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle & Harold is sick & in the forenoon I began plowing for Buckwheat up on top of the hill back of the barn and in the afternoon I stayed around the house   we had a Thunder shower or two it rained quite a lot and when school was out James & I went down to John Liddles & got a load of stove wood it looks like more rain."

            Wed. Jun. 16: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I went up on the hill & plowed and in the afternoon I went up on top of the hill & plowed for Buckwheat till school was out & then the boys went down to John Liddles & got a load of stove wood and I split wood at the door and it is a nice day to plow   it rained last night & it is cloudy & cool last night & it is cloudy & cool   Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron to Examination or Regents."

            Thur. Jun. 17: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and I went up on top of the hill back of the barn and plowed for Buckwheat & it rained nearly all the time   it drove me to the house about 11 O'clock and in the afternoon I was in the house most of the time writing and it is a rainy day it is a nice rain only cool."

            Fri. Jun. 18: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I went up on the hill & plowed for Buckwheat and it is nice & cool   cloudy & rained some in the afternoon   I chored around & when school was out the boys took the team & went down to John Liddles & got a load of stove wood   I split some & it rained too. It is a cloudy & cool day & rained some too."

            Sat. Jun. 19: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I went up on top of the hill back of the barn & finished plowing for Buckwheat and then the boys took the team & went down to John Liddles got a load of stove wood & I split some at the door & in the afternoon the boys drawed up 2 load of wood & broke the reach to the big wagon & I split some wood & the Women folk & I made the garden and it cleared of a nice day."

            Sun. Jun. 20: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Marion rode down & brought back our car from the Garage and there was no meeting at our church. so stayed at home & kept the youngsters   at night Marion, Hazel, Harold, James & Marjory went down to West Hebron in the car and heard a Baccalaureate sermon  it is very muddy going."

            Mon. Jun. 21: "I was sick a bed all day  a bad cold & head ache and in the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon it rained and did some in the afternoon and it is a cloudy day   grass looks nice but very muddy roads."

            Tues. Jun. 22: "I am some better to day   in the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle & the youngsters & I went up back & put the young cattle back in their pasture & in the afternoon the boys and I took the team & went up back & fixed the fence and at night Marion, Hazel & Harold drove a horse down to West Hebron to Commencement   its a cloudy day."

            Wed. Jun. 23: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Harold went up in the rear end of the big side hill & dragged the potatoes and I went down to Argyle with Harry and done some business & in the afternoon Harold dragged the potatoes back of the barn & the other boys & I drawed manure out of the front yard to the back with a stone boat and it is a nice pleasant.  Marion & Hazel took the car & went down to Lashers to the school picnic."         

            Thur. Jun. 24: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle & took the big team & got them shawd & brought home the truck W. wheels and John C & I piled wood & chored around and in the afternoon Mother, Marion & I went down to Harv McIntyre's wifes funeral and the boys drawed up wood from the McAuley place & we had a Thunder shower about time we got home it is a warm day & a nice shower."

            Fri. Jun. 25: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle and I dragged the Buckwheat ground over once & then we went down & got a load of wood and Harold chored around he has the tooth ache and in the afternoon I sowed the Buckwheat & Harold dragged it in & James & John C took the crow twine off the corn & Stakes too. and it is a warm day & pleasant too   the babe is sick & the Doctor was up to see her."

            Sat. Jun. 26: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle & Harold, James & I all cultivated the potatoes up in the rear end of the big side hill one way they don't look very promising small & uneven and in the afternoon we went down & got the last load of wood & then Harold cultivated corn & the other boys & I drawed up some old rails and it is a nice day   Hot too. At night we went down to Argyle & on around the lake & home."

            Sun. Jun. 27: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle Harold has tooth ache again and Marion, Hazel, Marjory, James, John C. Mary E. & I went to church & we heard a sermon by Mr. Safford and we stayed for sunday school and the babe is some better. Mother & Harold & Harry Oliver stayed at home and it is a nice pleasant day warm too."

            Mon. Jun. 28: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and I rolled the Buckwheat up on top of the hill and in the afternoon the boys & I drawed manure from back of the shed up in the long field & put it in a pile and it is a nice day   at night we went down to see David Thompson & got his jack screws"

            Tues. Jun. 29: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Dave Thompson came up & Harry came over & helped us to raise up the shed & we had to go down to Argyle & get a stick of Timber to make a sill for the shed & it is a hot day   about 5 O'clock we had a Thunder shower wind blew hard but not much rain."

            Wed. Jun. 30: "In the morning David Thompson came up & Harry came over and we worked at the shed & got it raised up & posts put under and it is some cloudy & rained some and it is a nice day warm"

            Thur. Jul. 1: "In the morning James & John C took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I cultivated the corn up on the side hill back of the barn & got done before noon & Harold began dragging potatoes back of the barn and the boys and I hoed some corn on the side hill and chored around and in the afternoon Marion & I took a grist out to the Fort for the pigs & went up to H. Halls & Harold finished dragging the potatoes at night & we all went down to the Cemetery & watered the lot. It is a nice day  cool north wind but got warmer."

            Fri. Jul. 2: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Arygle and in the forenoon Harold & I cultivated potatoes up in th rear end of the big side hill and in the afternoon we finished up & down cultivating  Marion took the car in the morning & went down to W. H & brought Mary up and it is a nice day  some windy at night we had a Thunder shower but did'nt rain very much."

            Sat. Jul. 3: "In the morning Harold & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and I ground the machine knives and Harry came over after me to go over & help him to kill one of his old sows and Marion & James took Mary down home with Ben Horse & it rained a lot a nice rain & warm & in the afternoon it rained some & was cloudy we chored around and at night Harry brought over ½ of the old Hog I gave him $20.00 for it. it looked like clearing off at night."

            Sun. Jul. 4: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle and we did'nt go to church to day any of us so all stayed at home & kept house It cleared of cool & is a windy day wind is in the north & getting colder all day I guess."

            Mon. Jul. 5: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I cultivated corn & potatoes back of the barn and about 10 o'clock we quit & got ready and went down to the "oaks" to a picnic and got home chore time and it is a nice pleasant day cool in the morning at night Marion & I took Charley McGeoch out to Glens Falls Hospital   he was sick"

            Tues. Jul. 6: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Harold mowed with machine down in the field above the lower house & I mowed by hand around the fence and in the afternoon Harold finished mowing down the road and I cultivated corn & potatoes back of the barn and it is a nice day warm too."

            Wed. Jul. 7: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & 2 cans were rejected so they brought them home & George Craig took them we are going to send the milk with him to Hood Co. & Harold raked some hay down the road & I bunched it & it came on   rain then we cultivated corn & potatoes & finished & drawed in 4 loads & raked the rest of the hay"

            Thur. Jul. 8: "In the morning Harold & James began mowing down in the big field & Mother & I went over to McGeochs  Charley died yesterday and when I got back I cultivated potatoes back of the barn & in the afternoon we drawed in the rest of the hay down the road 2 loads & the boys went over & mowed & I cultivated potatoes till night and it is a nice day warm but windy."

            Fri. Jul. 9: "In the morning it rained some & then Harold & I went up back & cultivated the boys potatoes in the rear part of the big side hill and in the afternoon the Women folks all went out to Glens Falls in the car & the boys mowed over back & I finished cultivating potatoes 2  way back of the barn & then went down to bunch up hay   the boys went at raking & we brought up a load of hay at night and it is a nice day good hay W."

            Sat. Jul. 10: "In the morning we onloaded 1 load of hay and the boys mowed the rest in the big chuck & then raked hay.  Mother & I went over to McGeochs & I chored around & went over & we brought over a load of hay & unloaded it & in the afternoon we went over to Charley McGeochs funeral.  Marion & I went to the yard and then the boys raked & I helped to bunch & we got it all bunched up & brought up a load the girls raked & at night we all took a ride down to Salem   it is a warm & good hay day"

            Sun. Jul. 11: "We all went to church and we heard a sermon by McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and it is a nice pleasant day & Hot too. rather Hazzy but a good hay day. after we done the chores we all went down to the Cemetery & watered the lot it is nice & green now"

            Mon. Jul. 12: "In the morning it rained awhile & the boys & I put up a bench to set the milk on and hoed the garden & I hoed some potatoes back of the barn and in the afternoon it partly cleared off   We onloaded a load of hay in the cow barn and Harold & I went up back & cultivated the boys potatoes and a shower came up & drove us to the house but did'nt rain much.  poor hay weather."

            Tues. Jul. 13: "In the morning Harold mowed on this side of the swail over in the big field & the boys and I shook out the hay over there that was bunched up James came over sick and I came over & went at cultivating potatoes up back & in the afternoon we all went over & turned & bunched up the hay & Harold mowed some & we drawed in or over 3 loads and it is a good hay day and James is better at night."

            Wed. Jul. 14: "In the morning Harold went over back & finished mowing & raked some and I cultivated potatoes awhile back of the barn and then went over back & we brought over a load of hay and in the afternoon we all went over back & Harold raked the rest of the hay & we got it all in   3 loads and at night we had a heavy Thunder shower   it rained a lot but we had a nice hay day."

            Thur. Jul. 15: "In the morning the boys and I went up back by Jim Wrye's & fixed some fence that or where the young cattle got out.  & then we came back & ground the Knives & Harold mowed up on top of the hill & I mowed around the fence by hand and in the afternoon Harold mowed up in the same place & I finished around the fence & then came down & cultivated potatoes back of the barn till night & the girls went down to Willard Durkees in the car & got some raspberries & it is a windy day."

            Fri. Jul. 16: "In the forenoon we took some water up to the potato field & I put on Paris Green on the potatoes up back & Marion & Harold & James took a grist out to Ft Edward & done some trading etc. and in the afternoon Harold raked the hay up on top of the hill & the children bunched it & I cultivated potatoes back of the barn awhile & then went up & we drawed in 3 loads of hay and it is a good hay day    dried fast."

            Sat. Jul. 17: "In the morning we began drawing in hay & got it all of from up on top of the hill in the meadow   3 loads and in the afternoon we all got ready & went up to Comstock to a game of ball in the car we went by Hudson Falls & came back by Granville and got home by chore time and it is a nice hay day   some warmer but cool nights."

            Sun. Jul. 18: "We all went to church and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and it is a nice day some cloudy & looked like rain before night."        

            Mon. Jul. 19: "It rained nearly all forenoon and we chored around and in the afternoon it did'nt rain much we got Harry to come over & clean out the well & we got out the reaper & went around the rye 2 or 3 times and it is a cloudy day & rained some but not a great lot."

            Tues. Jul. 20: "Harry came over & brought his team & he reapt the rye.   he used his team & ours too and he got it all cut and I bound rye all day  it is good too. and it is a nice day   cool wind but hot sun. In the afternoon the girls took the car down to Argyle to get the tubes changed in the shoes & 1 tube mended. Harold finished cultivating the potatoes back of the barn."

            Wed. Jul. 21: "Harry came over & he & I bound rye all day about and we did'nt finish and the boys sat it up & Harold cultivated the corn on the side hill back of the barn and the boys went over to Smiths before night a little & bunched up some hay. and it is a nice hay day   warm.

            Thur. Jul. 22: "In the forenoon Harold mowed the hay on the flat down in the orchard meadow below the road & I finished binding rye and the boys sat it up & I mowed around the trees in the meadow & in the afternoon we all took the team over & helped Smith to draw hay off the hill & we got it all and then we came over & Harold raked what he mowed in the meadow & we bunched it up and it is a good hay day & warm."

            Fri. Jul. 23: "It rained some last night and in the forenoon Harold & I went up back & shoveled out potatoes & in the afternoon we done the same   we got done up & down & went across some and it is cloudy   we did'nt open out the hay   the girls went down to Argyle in the car for errands & it rained some at night and it is poor Hay weather."

            Sat. Jul. 24: "In the forenoon Harold & I went up back & shoveled out potatoes and and after dinner we opened out the hay down in the meadow & I went up back & finished shoveling out potatoes & Harold began shoveling out potatoes back of the barn and it came on rain & rained till most night & wet our hay again   poor Hay weather   It is a cloudy day some sunshine but did'nt dry hay much."

            Sun. Jul. 25: "We all went to church and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and after dinner we went down to the Cemetery & watered the lots and it is a nice pleasant day   good hay day."

            Mon. Jul. 26: "In the forenoon I put on Paris Green on the potatoes back of the barn and Harold mowed the rest of the hay in the orchard below the road and we opened out the hay that was wet. and in the afternoon we drawed in what was out   3 loads & we raked & bunched up what was cut to-day & drawed in 1 load of rye and it is a nice day."

            Tues. Jul. 27: "In the forenoon we drawed in rye and in the afternoon we drawed in the hay out of the orchard  3 Loads & then we drawed in some rye and it is a nice hay day."

            Wed. Jul. 28: "In the morning Harold mowed some up on the big side hill & I mowed around the fence & James shoveled out some potatoes and in the afternoon we drawed in 3 loads of hay & the rest of the rye. Harold raked the hay and it is a nice day warm & good hay weather."

            Thur. Jul. 29: "In the morning we went up on the big side hill & got the rest of the hay that was cut 1 Load & then we got ready & went out to Glens Falls to a Circus & got home by chore time & it is a nice pleasant day warm & a good hay day"

            Fri. Jul. 30: "We began feeding cows   In the forenoon it rained some we chored around and in the afternoon Harold mowed hay up on the big side hill and I mowed around the fence & James shoveled out potatoes till I got through mowing & then I shoveled out potatoes & went down to the lower house & mowed some oats for the cows."

            Sat. Jul. 31: "In the forenoon Harold finished mowing up on the big side hill & James finished shoveling out potatoes back of the barn   all done & then Harold raked hay & we bunched it up & brought down a load & in the afternoon we drawed in 3 Loads & raked some & it came up a heavy Thunder shower & spoiled our fun. about 1 Load left out . it rained a lot   2 showers   a nice rain   I sowed the rest of the turnip seed."

            Sun. Aug. 1: "It was cleared off nice in the morning. We did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home & kept house we had a nother shower in the night   a big rain . It is a nice pleasant day   a fine growing time now after the rain."

            Mon. Aug. 2: "The girls took a grist out to the Fort     In the forenoon Harold raked the rest of the hay up on the big side hill & the boys opened out what hay was bunched up & Harold began mowing down in the lower fallow and I mowed around the fence and in the afternoon Harold finished mowing down there & I got it done around the fence & then we drawed in the rest of the hay up on side hill 1 Load & then we raked & bunched some Hay it is a nice day."

            Tues. Aug. 3: "In the forenoon we raked the rest of the hay down in the lower fallow & bunched it & got in 1 load & in the afternoon we drawed in the rest of the hay   4 Loads and Harold mowed some up in the upper fallow while we milked and it is a nice hay day   Hot too."

            Wed. Aug. 4: "In the forenoon Harold mowed the rest of the hay up on top of the hill in the fallow and I mowed around the fence and in the afternoon Harold raked the hay up on top of the hill & we bunched it up and drawed in 1 load and after supper I mowed some on the side hill in the upper fallow while the children milked and it is a nother good hay day   warm too."

            Thur. Aug. 5: "In the forenoon we drawed in 1 load of Hay from up on top of the hill & then Harold mowed the rest of the side hill & I mowed around the fence and in the afternoon we drawed in  1 load from up on top of the hill & Harold mowed the swail down in the orchard below the road & after supper Harold raked the hay on the side hill & we bunched it up.  another nice hay day   Hot too."

            Fri. Aug. 6: "In the forenoon Harold raked part of the rye tailings & I went down & mowed the rest of the grass in the swail at the lower house & then we drawed in Hay & in the afternoon we drawed in the rest of the hay from the upper fallow & then raked the hay down in the swails & then bunched it up & drawed in 2 loads and after supper we started for Fort Edward & broke the main shaft & had to get some one Mr. Kimbell to bring us home & had a recking car to come & get the car from the Community."

            Sat. Aug. 7: "In the forenoon we drawed in the rest of the hay   1 load from each swail and Harold raked the rest of the rye tailings and we drawed them for the hogs and Harold took Ben up to John Weirs to get a shoe put on and we chored around   I cut some weeds & ground the reaper Knives. and it is a nice pleasant day   Hot too.  Oats are turning very slow."

            Sun. Aug. 8: "We did'nt go to church (as our Car is laid up for a time) so all stayed at home and kept house and it is a warm & pleasant day it is getting terrible dusty dry too."

            Mon. Aug. 9: "In the morning I mowed by hand down at the lower house over the fence and then Harold & I took the machine & went up & mowed the little meadow & I mowed by hand awhile & Harold went up & raked the meadow & the children bunched it up and then we went up & got it 1 big load and we put it in the hay barn it is a good hay day but looked like rain at night."

            Tues. Aug. 10: "In the forenoon the boys took  Floe down to Norm Goulds to get shawd and I went down & finished mowing the swail by hand and it rained some and in the afternoon I laid around & was about sick it was cloudy & no hay day  poor weather for oats that are down."

            Wed. Aug. 11: "It is a cloudy & rainy day I did'nt do much of any thing but stay around the house  a fine time for feed  there is a lot of oats down most every body has oats down we have a little hay down but that is all. It rains nights & days too."

            Thur. Aug. 12: "In the forenoon the boys took the big team down to Norm Goulds & got them shawd and I cut brush around the rye field and in the afternoon we opened out the hay down in the swail and chored around & it is a poor hay day and at night we went down & turned the hay over and it is a poor hay day."

            Fri. Aug. 13: "In the forenoon I cut weeds around the potato field back of the barn and along the corn & the big burdocks below the barn and in the afternoon we bunched up the hay & drawed it in   it was'nt very dry & Harry took the girls out to Hudson Falls after the car & they did'nt get home till most 10 O'clock   it is a wet time   Hot & sultry"

            Sat. Aug. 14: "In the morning we chored around and then all got ready and went down to the "Oaks" to the farmers picnic and it was a nice day till about 4 o'clock a big shower came up and we came home in it & it rained all the way home Heavy Thunder shower   there was a big crowd there nearly 6000 people I guess   it is a terrible wet time for oats   most every body has got some out & they are growing"

            Sun. Aug. 15: "Our folks got ready to go to church & the Battery was all run out so they did'nt go. Our milk was all brought back as George Craig got stuck yesterday   it is a Hot sultry & cloudy day   corn & potatoes have made good growth in the past week."

            Mon. Aug. 16: "In the forenoon we went over back & cut a road around the oats in the back meadow with the mowing machine and raked them up in bunches and in the afternoon we all went over to Harrys & helped him to draw in & thresh his oats that was down and we finished them  it is a nice drying day   some wet oats yet though."

            Tues. Aug. 17: "In the morning we went over back & went at reaping our oats in the back meadow and Harry came over with his reaper & Harold & him got them all cut middle of the afternoon & I cut some around the stones & stump. and it is a nice day some cloudy but warm   after dinner Marion & Hazel went out to Hudson Falls in the car & stayed all night with Jen & went to a show."

            Wed. Aug. 18: "we went at drawing in our oats. Harry & His man came over with his team and we got in 2 loads & it came up a little shower & we quit till after dinner and then it dried off & we went at drawing in oats we got them all in   6 loads they were not very dry but we put them all in.  it cleared of & looked like good weather at night. The girls came home before noon & Mrs. Gilchrist came with them"

            Thur. Aug. 19: "In the morning we onloaded the load of oats and then we all got ready & went down to the Cambridge Fair and it was a Hot day and we got home by chore time and it is a good oat day & Hot too."

            Fri. Aug. 20: "In the morning we went over to Smiths to reap his oats but he was'nt ready so Harold took the team & went over in the back meadow & raked oat tailings and I boiled a Kettle of apples & rye for the pigs and in the afternoon we all went out to Glens Falls to the State Firemans Muster & got home chore time and it is a nice pleasant day warm & a good hay day"

            Sat. Aug. 21: "In the morning Harold took the team over to Smiths & helped him to reap his oats and I went over & helped to mow some around the rocks & it took most all day to reap them on the hill south of the woods and I chored around and it is a warm day   good hay day   at night we all went over to Will McNeils awhile in the car."

            Sun. Aug. 22: "Marion, Hazel, Marjory & Mary E., Harold & James went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron & they stayed for sunday school and it is a cloudy day & it came on rain about 3 O'clock & was a steady rain   it was hot in the morning but got cool when it began to rain and Mrs. Gilchrist went home."

            Mon. Aug. 23: "In the forenoon I cut brush along the road below the barn and Harold raked the rest of the oat tailings over in the back meadow and in the afternoon I cut some brush & we went over & got the oat tailings & went over to Smiths & put on 2 loads of oats and it cleared off and is a nice day & warm too.  the girls took a grist out to Fort Edward in the car for the horses."

            Tues. Aug. 24: "In the morning we all went over to Smiths & helped him all day we got his oats all threshed  they were a good crop & in good shape and it is a nice warm day   good hay day."

            Wed. Aug. 25: "In the morning we cut some grass & drawed it in for to feed the cows and then we all went out to the County Fair and spent all day   we got home chore time   3 of the young cattle was out so we had to put them back & fix the fence   it is a nice pleasant day   Hot too."

            Thur. Aug. 26: "We were all about sick but Mother  so got the chores done & layed around all day & did'nt do much   we were some better at night but Hazel   she was sick and it is a nice pleasant day and it is very Hot and getting dry & dusty too."

            Fri. Aug. 27: "In the morning we were all better and we cut some grass & brought it up to feed the cows and then we all went out to the County Fair and we got home chore time and it is a very hot day clear & dry   very dusty now."

            Sat. Aug. 28: "In the forenoon the boys went up back & dug out a water hole for the young cattle to drink & fixed some fence and I boiled a kettle of feed for the pigs and chored around changed the hay rack & in the afternoon we began drawing out manure down in the lower fallow & we got out 5 loads and it is another hot & dry day."

            Sun. Aug. 29: "In the morning we done the chores and it began raining but it did'nt amount to much but kept cloudy   rusty weather   it seems like bad weather for potatoes   they are beginning to show signs of it in places."

            Mon. Aug. 30: "In the forenoon the boys and I drawed manure down in the lower fallow and at noon we had a light shower and in the afternoon we put up a grist and the girls took it out to Fort Edward & got it ground & 2 sacks of bran cow feed and the boys and I went down to the lower house and cut the oats & picked up some apples  I picked some crab apples and it is a very Hot day."

            Tues. Aug. 31: "In the forenoon we drawed manure down to the lower fallow and about noon we had a heavy Thunder shower it rained quite a lot and in the afternoon Harold & I cut brush & burdocks along the road and it is cooler at night."

            Wed. Sept. 1: "In the forenoon we chored around & cut some burdocks around the barn & milk House & cut some weeds in the potato field back of the barn and it is a nice day cleared off in the afternoon & the boys and I drawed manure down in the lower fallow and it cleared off cooler."

            Thur. Sept. 2: "In the forenoon we drawed manure down in the lower fallow & in the afternoon we drawed 1 load and then went down in the cow pasture & shook of some cider apples & picked them up and it is a nice day some cooler We drawed in the oats from the garden at the lower house."

            Fri. Sept. 3: "In the forenoon we drawed manure down in the lower fallow and in the afternoon we drawed the rest of the manure out of the barn yard & got the yard all cleaned out & it is a nice pleasant day cool nights  at night we went down to the Cemetery & on down to Argyle."

            Sat. Sept. 4: "In the forenoon we drawed dirt from up the road & put it in the barn yard on top of the stone & in the afternoon we went down along the road side at the McAuley farm & got a load of gravel & put it in the barn yard. and it is a nice pleasant day Hot days & cool nights. at night we all went down to West Hebron in the car."

            Sun. Sept. 5: "In the morning we done the chores and then we all went to church and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and his text was in Joshua and we stayed for sunday school and after dinner awhile we all went down to the Cemetery & on down to Argyle to the Garage as Harry was there fixing his car his wife & the children went with us and it is a nice pleasant day warm too.

            Mon. Sept. 6: "In the morning Marion took Harry & his milk down to Argyle and left him there and we chored chored around cut some brush & onloaded the oats & picked some apples and in the afternoon we all went down to Salem and on our way back we had a smash down & sent word to the Argyle Garage & got home & they took the car over to Argyle."

            Tues. Sept. 7: "In the morning I rode down to Argyle with Harry & we took our car apart & seen what was broke (clutch cone) & in the afternoon Harry & I went out to Glens Falls to see if we could get the castine there or at Albany but could not so we came back home and it is a nice day warm. Hazel goes to West Hebron   she drives down"

            Wed. Sept. 8: "I picked apples for the first & picked all day down in the meadow orchard I got over 15 bbls Blush & Wolf River and at night the boys and I drawed them in. and it is a nice day warm."      

            Thur. Sept. 9: "In the morning Marion & Hazel went with Harrys folks up to Rutland Fair. the boys & I sorted a load of apples & Ralph Smith came over with a truck & got 12 bbls of apples 6 Wolf River & 6 Blush and I boiled a Kettle of feed and picked apples and at night the boys picked some cider apples & we drawed them all in. and it is a nice pleasant day warm too."

            Fri. Sept. 10: "It rained all forenoon & part of the afternoon and quit about 3 O'clock & I cut some burdocks down or in the old orchard & the boys helped when they got home   some cooler & partly cleared off at night."

            Sat. Sept. 11: "In the morning after we done the chores we got ready & loaded the pigs 8 of them in the Wagon & Harold & I took them down to Salem 855 # @ 13¢ per # and when we got home we picked some apples and the boys picked some cider apples & we drawed them in at night. and it is a nice pleasant day & warm"

            Sun. Sept. 12: "It rained a lot last night & a Thunder shower about morning and we did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and kept house it cleared off in the forenoon. but kept hot and at night we had a nother shower and a heavy one too."

            Mon. Sept. 13: "In the morning Ralph Smith came over & got a load of Apples 11 bbls at $2.00 and I cut Burdocks down around the lower house and in the afternoon I went up on top of the hill & cradled around the Buckwheat and the wind blew fierce so then I picked apples down the road got the blush all picked and it is some cloudy."

            Tues. Sept. 14: "In the morning we put up a grist & I took it out to Fort Edward for the cows & Horses and and I got home most night we onloaded the grist & I got some cement & we put it in the cow stable and it is a windy cool day.   It is Primary day   I voted."

            Wed. Sept. 15: "In the forenoon it was cloudy & looked like rain & did rain a mist and in the afternoon I took the reaper and went up on top of the hill back of the barn & cut Buckwheat & after school was out Harold raked & James & I sat up Buckwheat and it is a warm day but cloudy potatoes are dying fast  our late planted ones are nearly dead   up back they are green yet."

            Thur. Sept. 16: "In the morning Harold reaped & I sat up Buckwheat till school time & then I finished reaping & brought down the reaper & it came on rain & rained hard for awhile it cleared off after awhile & I went up & cut brush around the rear end of the big field or potatoes. & it cleared off & was some cooler. & the boys & I picked up some cider apples."

            Fri. Sept. 17: "In the morning we loaded up the rest of the load of cider apples & I took the load down to Argyle 55 bu at 50¢  per bu and Marion went too so as to bring the car home but she had to come back with me & I brought home a load of gravel and after school was out the boys and I went up on top of the hill & sat up the rest of the Buckwheat and it is a nice day some windy   Harry had to go to Glens Falls to fix the car"

            Sat. Sept. 18: "We all dug potatoes back of the barn early ones and we got 2 loads some rotten ones and Harry fixed the car so as he could bring it home & after dinner James took & carried him down to Argyle so as he could get his car and it is a nice day it got windy & cooler at night."

            Sun. Sept. 19: "In the morning we got up some what early as George Craig comes earlier now for the milk and we did'nt go to church any of us to-day so all stayed at home and kept house and it is a cool windy & raw day for the time of year but clear   we had quite a frost last night."

            Mon.  Sept. 20: "I picked Pound sweet apples all day about and it is a nice day cool nice day to work we drawed in the apples at night. the boys helped  we turned the cows in the meadow or orchard below the road at night & the children watched them."

            Tues. Sept. 21: "There was no school to-day  Harry came over & we all worked at putting in a cement bottom in the cow stable next to the road and we got done before night a little & Harry put a light in the milk House and it is a nice pleasant day"

            Wed. Sept. 22: "I picked some apples & after a little Harry came over & we put on a nother coat of cement on the stable and in the afternoon I went down to the school House & helped Harry to fix fence wire and we did'nt get through   it is a nice day   getting warmer & dryer too."

            Thur. Sept. 23: "In the morning I picked a few apples & then went down to the school house & helped Harry to fix wire fence and in the afternoon I picked apples down in the orchard below the road. & after school we drawed in the apples and then we went up on top of the hill & turned over the Buckwheat and it is a warm day Hot & dry"

            Fri. Sept. 24: "In the forenoon we got out the big rack & put it on the wagon & then I cut brush up around the Buckwheat and in the afternoon I cut brush up there & the boys when they got home brought up the team & we drawed in 2 loads of Buckwheat and it is a hot & dry day   good corn weather"

            Sat. Sept. 25: "In the morning I picked a few apples & Harry came over & finished the cement in the upper stable & Sam Allen came over & he & Harry worked on the car all day & the boys and I drawed in the rest of the Buckwheat up on top of the hill back of the barn   4 loads & we put it in the barn floor and it is a very hot day   July weather   good corn weather"

            Sun. Sept. 26: "Marion, Hazel & Harold went to church and they drove horse & they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for Sunday school and the rest of us stayed at home & kept house and done the chores. and it is a nice pleasant day  warm."

            Mon. Sept. 27: "In the forenoon I finished picking Fall apples and went up on top of the hill & finished cutting brush around top of the hill and I cleaned out a stable & read it all out to put in cement & when the boys got home from school we all went down & got a load of gravel at Bowlyears and it is a warm day"

            Tues. Sept. 28: "I am not feeling very well to day so did'nt do much all day but sat around & done the chores and it is a cloudy day   partly cleared of at night."

            Wed. Sept. 29: "In the morning we drawed over some stone  put them in the stable & I leveled them off & got ready for cement & then I went up on the side hill back of the barn & began cutting corn very light & in the afternoon I cut corn till school was out & then the boys & I went down & got some cider apples in the cow pasture & it is a nice day."

            Thur. Sept. 30: "We had a big rain it rained all day and Sam Allen & Harry came over & worked on the car and they did'nt get done till most midnight and it was a big rain   just poured part of the time.   Hazel stayed down all night at Everetts."

            Fri. Oct. 1: "In the morning I started with our milk and went around the route and gathered up 24 cans of milk & took it down to Salem & George Craig got stuck yesterday in the rain and James went with me and it was most chore time when we got home and it is a cloudy day but no rain."

            Sat. Oct. 2: "In the morning we dug potatoes back of the barn Giants we got a one box load 35 bu & they are rotten some too. & in the afternoon we went up in the back field & began digging round ones they are a fair crop not many rotten ones & a fair crop very wet in the hallow   water on top of the ground and it is a nice day to Work. Harry took a grist out to the Fort for us."

            Sun. Oct. 3: "Marion, Hazel & James went to church and they drove a horse and it is sacrament sabbath. and they heard a sermon by Mr. Turnbull and they stayed for sunday school and the rest of us stayed at home and kept house and it is a nice day   cool air."

            Mon. Oct. 4: "In the forenoon we all dug & picked potatoes up in the back part of the big side hill and in the afternoon we loaded up a load of cider apples and the boys took them down to Argyle to the cider mill and they had on about 60 bu and I cut some corn up on the side hill back of the barn and we had a shower about night   it is some cool   Lydia came home with Hazel."

            Tues. Oct. 5: "It is a cloudy & wet day rain now & then all day    we fixed fence now & then when it was'nt raining around the upper fallow & the wind was in the north & blew hard all day and it acts cold indeed."

            Wed. Oct. 6: "We all dug & picked potatoes all day about up in the further part of the big field and they are rotten very bad the Giants are the worst and I cut some corn."

            Thur. Oct. 7: "We all dug & picked potatoes all day up in the rear end of the big side hill and the potatoes are rotten bad in places and it is a nice day cool in the morning   at night we had a milk meeting here to see about carrying our milk to Salem as George Craig has got done   we agreed to carry it by turns 11 of us          I cut a little corn"

            Fri. Oct. 8: "In the forenoon we all dug potatoes & picked but Olliver & busy they was about sick and in the afternoon Marion & the boys & Marjory took a grist out to Fort Edward and I was about sick and did'nt do much but chore around & laid down awhile & it is a nice pleasant day warm"

            Sat. Oct. 9: "In the forenoon we all dug & picked potatoes up back and we did the same in the afternoon and Marion, Hazel, Mother & the babe & Harry O. went down to Argyle in the car & got some work done on it and it is a nice day warm & a good day to work."

            Sun. Oct. 10: "In the morning Harold & I took a load of milk down to Salem 29 cans and we got home about 3 O'clock   the rest of our folks went to church & then they came down to West Hebron to meet us & after we got home awhile the got back & then we all went down to the Cemetery & put some flowers on Roscoes & Rubys graves & it is a nice pleasant day"

            Mon. Oct. 11: "We all dug potatoes & picked them up in the back part of the big side hill and we worked at it all day and it is a nice pleasant day & warm   I cut some corn."

            Tues. Oct. 12: "We all dug potatoes & picked them up in the rear end of the big side hill all day and we got the round ones all dug and Hazel was at home to-day and it is some cloudy but cleared of warm    I cut some corn"
            Wed. Oct. 13: "In the forenoon we all dug & picked potatoes up back & in the afternoon we dug potatoes out back of the barn and Marion & the boys went down to Argyle & got Elliott the plumber and he fixed the pump and Marion took him back and it is a nice pleasant & warm day   Hot as summer. I cut some corn."

            Thur. Oct. 14: "We all dug & picked potatoes all day in the rear end of the big side hill and it is a  nice pleasant day   warm & dry   fine weather as I ever saw at this time of year    I cut some corn"

            Fri. Oct. 15: "We all dug & picked potatoes all day up in the back part of the big side hill and we got 2 loads and I cut a little corn and it is a nice day warm as summer."

            Sat. Oct. 16: "In the forenoon we all dug & picked potatoes up back and Marion went down to Argyle and got a new tube put in or on the car and in the afternoon Mother, Marion, Harry Oliver, the babe & I went up to Mrs. Gouleys funeral & the children dug potatoes up back and they finished up there and at night we all went down to Argyle & got some meat. and it is a nother nice day   it rained a little"

            Sun. Oct. 17: "We all went to church and we heard a sermon by a man from Cambridge and we stayed for sunday school and after dinner we went down to the Cemetery & stopped at Abner McEachrons & seen Eliza McMillen  she died this morning and it is a nother nice warm day  pleasant & dry too."

            Mon. Oct. 18: "In the forenoon Harold & James took the big team down to West Hebron to get shawd & took 2 cider barrels to get some hoops put on & the threshers came here George Gardner & Charley Barkley & his man & Harry & his man helped   we got the Buckwheat all out 119 bu & started the rye & it is a warm day & pleasant. In the morning John C. & I carried rotten potatoes out of the cellar."

            Tues. Oct. 19: "The threshers came  I had the same help save Harry  he went with the milk & we finished the rye 86 bu and started the oats & finished all but cleaning up the floor & Harry helped when he came back & we worked till after dark quite awhile and it is a nice day warm some cooler nights. we were about all sick at bed time   the girls milked   Marion & Mother went to Elizas funeral."

            Wed. Oct. 20: "In the morning the boys were all sick & I was about but managed to help the girls to milk & it is a nice day   Harold & James were in bed all day & the Doctor came up to see the boys. they are not very sick but the dust & work tired us all out   I did'nt  do anything only help to milk it is a nother warm day."

            Thur. Oct. 21: "We are all some better to day & we drawed over the oats & dumped them in the bins and in the afternoon Marion took a grist out to Fort Edward for the cows & Harold & John C went with her and I finished cutting corn & James & I fixed some fence where the cows got into the corn yesterday and it is a nother nice day   warm & dry too."

            Fri. Oct. 22: "We all dug potatoes out back of the barn nearly all day they are a rotten mess too and it is a nother nice day some windy & cooler at night."

            Sat. Oct. 23: "We all dug potatoes nearly all day out in the field back of the barn and we got 2 loads or parts of loads   it is hard dragging too. In the afternoon Marion & Mother went down to Argyle & at night we all went down to West Hebron. after dinner we drawed 1 load of pumpkins. It is a nice day  warm too."

            Sun. Oct. 24: "In the morning Harold & I took a load of milk down to Salem for 11 or 10 different ones & we got home about 3 o'clock and our folks did'nt go to church but after dinner they went down to George McKernons to get some butter & before night Lydia W. came up & Marion went home with her. It is a nice warm day   cool in morning."

            Mon. Oct. 25: "In the morning the boys & I drawed in a jag of corn from the side hill back of the barn in to the barn & then they went to school and I picked apples and after school was out we drawed in the apples 10 bbls and it is a nice pleasant day   warm too   it looked some like rain."

            Tues. Oct. 26: "In the forenoon it rained some & I husked some corn & chored around & picked some apples and in the afternoon I picked apples and it partly cleared off but is some cloudy Hazel stayed down at West Hebron all night to attend a concert and it is very warm for the time of year."

            Wed. Oct. 27: "In the forenoon I chored around & picked some Apples and the boys & I pulled a few turnips and carried them in the cow stable and in the afternoon I went over & Helped Smith dig potatoes and it is a nice warm day only a terrible East wind   it blew bushels of apples of the trees   it is cloudy and at night it rained  hard too."

            Thur. Oct. 28: "In the forenoon or morning the boys and I cleaned up the oats that was on the floor & I picked a few apples and in the afternoon Marion & I went out to Hudson Falls to get some work down on the car & we had 2 blow outs before we got home & at night the boys & I rode down to Argyle with Harry to a political meeting & the girls went over to a social at the church   it is a cloudy day."

            Fri.  Oct. 29: "In the forenoon I picked a few apples and then it came on rain & it snowed some and it let up before night but I did'nt  do much & in the morning we drawed in a load of pumpkins for the cows and after school we drawed in what apples I picked and it is a nasty day   not very cold at night but it got windy."

            Sat. Oct. 30: "We all dug & picked potatoes in the field back of the barn and we got them all dug & in the cellar   Marion & Hazel helped in the afternoon and it is a cloudy day   windy but not very much colder   cooler at night when it cleared off."

            Sun. Oct. 31: "In the morning I rode down to Salem with John Weir when he took the milk in his car and our folks did'nt go to church to-day and after dinner we went down to West Hebron in the car & stopped awhile at Everetts & at night we went over to Smiths awhile and it is a cloudy day but not cold."

            Mon. Nov. 1: "In the forenoon it rained and I sat around the house & chored around and it is a cold rain  In the afternoon I picked some apples and we drawed them in at night it is a raw & cold wind   it cleared off at night."

            Tues. Nov. 2: "In the forenoon we went down to Argyle to vote   it was election and Mrs. Smith & Jennine   Sloans Wife rode down with us and it came on rain the boys went over to Arthur Williams & brought back the team  he took over the oat thresher and in the afternoon the boys & I put in cement in one cow stable & it rained a lot & it is warm to big wind. Every thing went Republican 1100000 in this state for President    70000 for governor."

            Wed. Nov. 3: "In the morning we loaded a load of cider apples & I took them down to Argyle & brought back home a load of gravel for to put in concrete in the cow stable and when school was out we picked a few cider apples & chored around and it is a nice day   very muddy."

            Thur. Nov. 4: "In the forenoon I picked apples and in the afternoon the boys stayed at home and helped me to put in a cement stable and we drawed in the apples at night and Mother & Marion took a grist out to Fort Edward in the car & got back about night and it is a cloudy day but not very cold."

            Fri. Nov. 5: "It was my turn to take milk so I took the load down to Salem 23 cans & I got back before night awhile & after school was out the boys and I drawed a load of pumpkins & in the afternoon the Women folks & Harry Oliver all went out to Glens Falls to do some trading in the car  no school at West Hebron and it is a cloudy & windy day some colder."

            Sat. Nov. 6: "In the forenoon the boys & I went over the 2 stables with concrete again and in the afternoon we drawed 1 load of pumpkins and 2 loads of corn in to the barn & 2 loads of turnips from the side hill back of the barn and then toped a few turnips and it is a nice day pleasant some windy & cooler."

            Sun. Nov. 7: "We all went to church in the car and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and we came home around by George McKernons & got some Butter. & it is a cloudy day & began raining about 3 O'clock & got cooler. we left the cows in at night."

            Mon. Nov. 8: "In the forenoon I chored around toped some turnips & husked some corn and in the afternoon I fixed a bin for apples and then I picked apples  Ben Davis  and it rained in the morning & looked like it all day about but did'nt rain much and it is a cloudy day."

            Tues. Nov. 9: "In the morning the boys and I put the cement in the gutters in both stables & I chored around topped some turnips & husked corn it is a warm rain and is a dark cloudy & a strong east wind Rubys cow had a calf last night    B."

            Wed. Nov. 10: "In the morning I took the milk down to Salem for Harry and I got back before night awhile and after school was out we drawed in a load of pumpkins   we have them all in now it is a cool raw windy day   getting colder at night."

            Thur. Nov. 11: "In the morning Harold took Hazel down to W. Hebron to school and the other boys & I topped turnips & then we went at drawing in corn & in the afternoon the boys & I drawed in the rest of the corn & got in 1 load of turnips   it frooze pretty hard last night but it thawed out but was cold at night."

            Fri. Nov. 12: "In the forenoon I picked some some apples  it was so cold I had to come in & get warm. In the afternoon I did the same & at night we drawed the apples in and the wind blew fierce and kept getting colder all day and at night Marion, Hazel, Marjory, Harold & James went down to Clayton Barkleys to a party. Mother went down to W. H. after Hazel"

            Sat. Nov. 13: "In the forenoon the boys & I boarded up under the shed & put straw around the open places & in the afternoon we husked some corn and chored around and last night it frooze hard tightened up everything   our apples are spoiled on the ground & trees too & the turnips are all frooze in the ground and it is cold all day   freezing all the time."

            Sun. Nov. 14: "We did'nt go to church so all stayed at home & kept house and done the chores it is a cloudy cold raw day   it looks like snow with no signs of a let up   ever thing is frooze tight yet   apples are ruined I guess."

            Mon. Nov. 15: "I husked some corn and chored around and in the morning Harold took Hazel down to school   she is going to stay down with her Grand-Mother and I have a bad cold but keep a going it don't thaw much of any yet   the apples are all spoiled on the trees and it is a cloudy & cold raw day   it looks like snow."

            Tues. Nov. 16: "In the morning I took the milk down to Salem and I took a grist down to West Hebron and had to leave it  I got 2 bags of bran at Salem & I brought up some coal for Mary and It was most chore time when I got home and it is a cold cloudy & raw day at night it began hailing or snowing."

            Wed. Nov. 17: "I chored around husked some corn & toped some turnips and chored around and it is a rainy & cloudy day but not very cold I think We put the young cattle in for the first   It is a nasty day & time too."

            Thur. Nov. 18: "The boys stayed at home to day and helped me to shake of the frozen apples for cider   we picked up 2 big loads & let them set and then we pulled turnips till most night & put them in the barn cellar and husked some corn and it is a raw cloudy day and we got the cider apples about all picked up   it is not freezing much."

            Fri. Nov. 19: "In the forenoon I took a load of cider apples down to Argyle to the cider mill & in the afternoon there was no school so we all pulled turnips & drawed them in and we husked some corn and it is a cloudy day and cool too but some warmer   it looks like a storm of some kind."

            Sat. Nov. 20: "In the forenoon I took a load of cider apples down to Argyle & got 2 bbls of cider and the boys pulled the rest of the turnips & put them in the barn Floor and in the afternoon Harold & James took a nother load of cider apples down to Argyle & got 2 more barrels of cider and I husked corn & chored around and it is a cold cloudy windy & raw day and it kept getting colder all day and was quite cold."

            Sun. Nov. 21: "We did'nt go to church any of us so we all stayed at home and kept house and done the chores and it is a stormy day it snowed about all day  4 inches I guess and it did'nt thaw much  a pretty cool day. "

            Mon. Nov. 22: "In the morning Harold took Hazel down to W. Hebron to school & the other boys and I loaded up a load of cider Apples  Pound Sweets  and I took them down to the cider mill at Argyle  54 bu and I got the team shawd down there & done some trading   It snowed on me some   the boys stayed at home in the forenoon & done chores   It was most night when I got home & it is a cool & cloudy day it looks like snow."

            Tues. Nov. 23: "It snowed all day and it came right down a young blizzard but it was soft   it rained in the morning & turned to snow & came right down but is thawed away a lot it was so wet  not very cold but wind was in the north & was getting colder I think I chored around & topped turnips."

            Wed. Nov. 24: "I husked some and topped some turnips   it is cool sitting too. in the afternoon Marion went down to West Hebron and got Hazel & her Grandmother   she came up & stayed all night    it is  a cloudy cool raw day   it thawed some on the road   the Milk man started on sleighs & had to get a wagon."

            Thur. Nov. 25: "I husked corn & the boys topped some turnips   I helped them some   they got them all topped in the cow stables and I got the corn all husked that was on the barn floor and we put the 2 lumber double wagons or trucks in or on the barn floor and Hazel & Marjory took their GrandMother down home at West Hebron and it is  hard going"

            Fri. Nov. 26: "I chored around and I am not feeling very well so I sat around the house   it is another cloudy day and it is cool   it don't freeze much or thaw either   it is terrible going Hazel was at home   no school at West Hebron to-day."

            Sat. Nov. 27: "In the morning I took the milk down to Salem and I took a grist down to West Hebron and I got some Bran & Middlings down to Salem and it is terrible going   It was night when I got home   It is a cloudy day   it is cloudy every day but don't seem to storm much  don't thaw much or freeze either."

            Sun. Nov. 28: " We did'nt go to church so all stayed at home and kept house & done the chores and it is a cloudy day and looked like a storm but it did'nt the snow has come to stay I guess as it does not seem to thaw away."

            Mon. Nov. 29: "I kept the boys to home to-day so we all topped the rest of the turnips they had began to heat & began rotten and we drawed some of the saw dust out of the ice house and put it  in the cellar and it is a nother cloudy day cool too. Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron to school."

            Tues. Nov. 30: "I husked corn part of the day I went over to Harrys awhile in the morning and I chored around and it is another cloudy day   some cool and I chored around and the snow does not go very fast."

            Wed. Dec. 1: "I husked corn most of the day and done chores the rest of the day and it rained nearly all day but it did'nt thaw much of any the is here to stay I guess. it is terrible going   mud all the time & deep too."

            Thur. Dec. 2: "I took the milk down to Salem & I went for Harry  it was his turn  he took a load of Apples out to Fort Edward & brought back a load of coal for Mary W. as I was going out for it.  & I brought up over ½ ton for Mary from Salem and it is terrible going  muddy  the snow don't go very fast  the boys got excused from school & done the chores  it was most night when I got home"

            Fri. Dec. 3: "I chored around & went over to Harrys & got the load of coal & took it down to West Hebron to Mary & it was pretty near night when I got back and  Harold went down after Hazel in the afternoon & got flora shawd & got Hazel and it is cool & raw day  the snow don't go very fast."

             Sat. Dec. 4: "In the forenoon we cleaned out the back house and then we cleaned out the ice house & put the saw dust in the barn cellar and I husked some corn and in the afternoon we chored around and I husked some corn  we turned out the cattle to-day   the snow is getting thin in places    it thawed a lot to-day   it is a warm but cloudy but partly cleared off before night"

            Sun. Dec. 5: "In the morning I took the milk down to Salem it was'nt my turn but I went for Norman Mahaffy and it rained all day  I got home about chored time the boys done the chores   it was a hard trip for the horses.  the snow is nearly gone now"

            Mon. Dec. 6: "In the forenoon I spread manure down in the lower fallow & I spread some in the afternoon & then done chores t he snow is nearly all gone but we had a nother snow storm & the ground is white again  In the morning Harold took Hazel down to school  at night Marion went after her  it is some colder & is freezing some  it turned colder about morning"

            Tues. Dec. 7: "In the morning Harold & Hazel drove down to West Hebron to school   Harold began & they drive down every day now and I husked some corn & done the chores & it is a nice day."

            Wed. Dec. 8: "I husked corn & chored around  sorted a few potatoes and I am getting pretty near done husking & it is a nice day pretty rough going now.  cool in the morning"

            Thur. Dec. 9: "I husked corn and chored around all day & sorted some potatoes and it is a nice day  pleasant but cool nights the roads are pretty rough now but are wearing down i  t thaws some every day & is muddy."

            Fri. Dec. 10: "I husked corn most all day when I was'nt doing chores and I finished husking  the crib is not very full and it is a cloudy & stormy day  rain or hailed a mist nearly all day & frooze as it came  it was clear early in the morning but got cloudy & began storming."

            Sat. Dec. 11: "In the forenoon after we done the chores we put up a grist & Harold & James took it down to West Hebron & got it back home  they took the team & big wagon. I sorted potatoes & chored around & ground the axes. At night Marion, Hazel, Marjory, Harold & James went down to West Hebron to a show & it is a cool day."

            Sun. Dec. 12: "Marion, Hazel & Harold went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and the other boys & I done the chores and it is a nice day rather cool thaws some."

            Mon. Dec. 13: "Harold & Hazel stayed at home  no school to-day  In the forenoon Harold & I cut brush up around the rear end of the first fallow & in the afternoon we began cutting our wood down along the road by the swamp and it is a  nice warm day."

            Tues. Dec. 14: "It is a rainy day  it rained nearly all day  I sorted some potatoes and Ralph came along & his Horse was sick & got down along the road  we got it up & put her in or on our barn floor. and left her all night  she got well and I chored around it is a windy day  the snow is nearly all gone again."

            Wed. Dec. 15: "In the forenoon I went down in the lower fallow & spread manure and in the afternoon I cut the rest of the brush around the upper fallow and then spread some manure and it a cool day & windy."

            Thur. Dec. 16: "In the forenoon I chored around & sorted some potatoes and it was cloudy & looked some like snow and in the afternoon I spread manure down in the lower fallow and it is a cloudy & cool raw day."

            Fri. Dec. 17: "In the forenoon I finished spreading manure & then went over in the back meadow & cut brush around the fence & in the afternoon I done the chores & went over & cut brush around the back meadow & it is a nice day for the time of year it snows little flurries nights & melts away in day time."

            Sat. Dec. 18: "the boys and I drawed manure all day down in both fallows  we got out 11 loads we got a good start on it. and we done the chores & the women folks went down to Geo. McKernons & got some Butter and it is a nice pleasant day  some cloudy  it freezes nights quite hard."

            Sun. Dec. 19: "In the morning I took the milk down to Salem and the boys done the chores and Harry came over & he & Marion got the car in running order & they all went over to his house awhile & I got home before chore time awhile   Our folks did'nt go to church and it is a pretty cloudy day cool air  it thawed some."

            Mon. Dec. 20: "In the forenoon we killed the turkeys and roosters and Harold, James & Hazel stayed at home & helped & Harry came over & helped some & we loaded up the apples 2 loads   we took 1 load down to Argyle  he bought them from me & in the afternoon Marion, Hazel, Mother & Harold took the car & went out to Glens Falls & found Santa Claus & James & I done the chores & Marjory kept the babe  it is a nice day only cool  It was late when they got home."

            Tues. Dec. 21: "In the forenoon I took a load of cider apples down to Argyle and my breech came down I had to go to the Dr's & get it put back & on my way home I stopped at Tom Cuthberts & got a load of saw Dust & the Mohigan man came out and got Marions turkeys 60¢ & Rooster 35¢ and it is a nice day cool it was most night when I got home. the roads are rough around here."

            Wed. Dec. 22: "In the forenoon I went over & cut brush around the back meadow and in the afternoon I chored around & sorted  some potatoes and it is a nice day  some cloudy and looks like a storm & did rain at night but frooze as it came."

            Thur. Dec. 23: "In the morning there was a coat of ice on every thing & it was slippery but before night the ice thawed of the trees & every where  it was muddy at night but got colder."

            Fri. Dec. 24: "In the forenoon Harold took a grist down to West Hebron and got it home and I chored around and sorted some potatoes and in the afternoon we all went down to the school house to a Xmas tree and it is a cool raw day  getting colder all day  at night Marion, Hazel & Harold went over to the church to an entertainment"

            Sat. Dec. 25: "the boys and I went down to the woods and cut wood what time we was'nt doing chores and it is a cold raw & windy day  it is a winters day   about night Marion went up to Ed Pollocks & stayed all night and Harry & the children & Nettie came over awhile at night."

            Sun. Dec. 26: "There was no church at our church so we all stayed at home and done the chores  it is a cold raw day  it looks like snow. Marion came home with Edd when he came with the milk & it is a cloudy raw cold day  it looks like a storm at night."

            Mon. Dec. 27: "In the morning it was snowing & had snowed a lot and snowed nearly all day   it must of snowed 9 inches  we chored around & sat around the house all day and it is some warmer at night."

            Tues. Dec. 28: "In the morning I took the milk down to Salem (in the morning we got out the sleighs) & I took the milk in sleighs and it went very well  the snow is dry and I got home before night awhile and the boys done the chores and it is a nice day  pleasant and not very cold."

            Wed. Dec. 29: "In the forenoon we chored around & sat around the house I am about sick with a cold so we don't do much but the chores and it is fair sleighing around here   it is a nice winters day not very cold   I sorted a few potatoes."

            Thur. Dec. 30: "I am not feeling very good so I set around the house most of the time  only when I am helping at the chores  Harry came over & got our sleighs & took a bbl of cider and after dinner the boys took a horse & drove down to Argyle & got some rubbers to wear and it is very good sleighing around here"

            Fri. Dec. 31: "We did'nt do much but the chores I have a bad cold and it is a nice day too   I sat around the house & wrote some and we have come to the close of another year   all enjoying good health but bad colds   it has been a fairly good year financially with us."
