1926 Diary of Harvey Williamson

 

            Fri. Jan. 1: (Written in Marjory's handwriting, as if Harvey was writing it, until otherwise noted ) "In the morning we didn't get up very early and Mother wasn't feeling very good but better than yesterday only had a lame back and we had Chicken Pie for dinner. James & Lawrence went to the woods in the forenoon and drew out wood for Jud Williams & Laurence and came back here for dinner and in the Afternoon Marion and Ed and the children came up and Hazel, Marjory, John C and Harry O. went up to the pond and skated a while and then we went and took Mary home   Hazel, Mary E and I went it was better going than I expected   Jimmie brought a load of wood with the truck for Lawrence. The young folks went to a Senior dance at Grange Hall.

            Sat. Jan. 2: "In the morning we didn't get up very early and Jimmie & Laurence went out to Ogden's after some hay we bought of Ed and they got a load for us and one for Lawrence and in the Afternoon we went out to Glens Falls and we brought the Doctor down to John H's and I had a treatment and Jimmie brought a load of wood for Lawrence and one for Jud Williams. Mother is some better."

            Sun. Jan. 3: "In the morning we laid abed until quite late and Hazel, James, Marjory, John C and Mary E went to church and in the afternoon Marion & Ed & the children came up. Ed went out to Fort Edward to take Margaret Hall to the train.  We went up to Gages. It was nearly dark when we got home. The young folks went to Prayer Meeting.  Marion & Ed stayed for supper & went home after the folks went to Prayer Meeting. Florence isn't feeling very good."

            Mon. Jan. 4: "In the morning we got up pretty early and Jimmie and I took Hazel out to H F to school and Florence was sick so she didn't go to school. Jimmie started to school again. The rest all went, too."

            Tues. Jan. 5: "We didn't get up very early and the children all went to school. Florence dont feel very good yet."

            Wed. Jan. 6: "In the morning we didn't get up until late. The children all went to school except Florence. In the Afternoon Robert Hale came down to see Father and after school the girls went to practice basket ball. In the evening Marjory, Mary, James and John C went to Prayer meeting."

            Thur. Jan. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women washed. Marjory stayed home in the forenoon and helped wash. Marion sent her clothes up with Ed. Then she came up and brought Helen and took her white clothes home to dry. Mother hung up the rest and Helen stayed up. She has quite a cold and Jimmie, John C. Harry O, and Florence went to take her home. Florence is better but didn't go to school."

            Fri. Jan. 8: "We didn't get up very early. Mother was busy getting the work done. In the afternoon Jimmie, Florence, Mother and I went out to Glens Falls to the Doctor's . We came back and took Hazel home. After supper we went up to the Methodist Church to Prayer Meeting."

            Sat. Jan. 9: "Big storm      In the morning when we got up it had snowed quite a lot. It snowed hard all day until about four o'clock. We didn't go to church it snowed so hard. When Ed came back from Fort Edward Mary E went home with him.  Helen and Ruth are not feeling very good. The snow is about 16 or 18 in deep and still cloudy. Jimmie went up street with Lawrence in his cutter."

            Sun. Jan. 10: ( Written in Georgiana's handwriting until otherwise noted )  "In the morning we didn't get up until late and we all went to church. It was communion. It is pretty deep snow for cars we went to church in our car and got along all right and in the afternoon Ed came up he went to South Argyle to see how the roads was and came on up here and Garry took the milk for him with a team and at night the young folks went to prayer Meeting.:

            Mon. Jan. 11: "In the morning we got up early and Mary E came home from Marions and brought some washing with her she came up with Garry in his car and Hazel went out to Hudson Falls with him and the children all went to school and Mother got her washing done and the girls done the Ironing at night. It stormed a little at night"

            Tues. Jan. 12: "In the morning we didnt get up until late and when I tried to get I was so dizzy and sick that I had to go back to bed again and Mother telephoned for the Dr and he came down and gave some medicine that helped me so I got up a little after noon and John Liddle came down and brought us five bushels of Potatoes @ $3 a bu   Jimmie or Marjory didn't go to school in the forenoon and Jimmie didn't go in the afternoon he made a card to put on the truck to tell the weight and put on the License."

            Wed. Jan. 13: "In the morning we didn't get up very early and the children all went to school except Jimmie and he got the chains on the truck and weight card on the truck and put pasteboard on the front of the Radiator and in the afternoon he & Laurence went out after a load of Hay for Laurence and after school the girls went to practice Basketball and at night the boys went up to the Hall to Practice Basket Ball."

            Thur. Jan. 14: " 14 below zero    In the morning we didn't get up very early and the children all went to school except Jimmie he tried a long to get the truck started it was so cold and then he & Laurence went out after a load of hay for ourselves it was very cold this morning the coldest of this season and in the afternoon Jimmie went with Laurence & Rob Hale to Belcher to Rob McWhorters funeral and got home before night"

            Fri. Jan. 15: "10 above zero     In the morning we got up early and Jimmie & Lawrence went out after a load of hay and went on out to Fort Edward to get the weight of the truck and Ed got stuck or had trouble with his truck and Jimmie took the milk for him and then brought home a load of hay for Laurence and Jud Williams want him to help with Ice on the pond and Hazel came home with Edd and at night we went to a basket ball game between the Argyle Juniors and West Hebron boys. Earl was there and came home with us."

            Sat. Jan. 16: "In the morning we didnt get up very early and Jimmie had his breakfast as soon as mother could get some for him and then he went to work on the Ice for Jud Williams and the women got their work done and Hazel, Mother & I went out to Glens Falls and I had a treatment at the Drs Office. We stopped at Eva's and she wanted us come down there but the Dr didnt have time and after we came home we got ready and went to the basketball game and Harold came home and stayed all night"

            Sun. Jan. 17: "In the morning we didnt get up until late and we went to church and Earl & Harold went too and after we had dinner we went down to Marions and about six oclock Harry's folks came over after the boys and then we all went to Prayer Meeting and after dinner we tried to fix the aerial but didnt take time to finish it so couldnt get anything on the Radio"

            Mon. Jan. 18: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie & I took Hazel out to Hudson Falls to school and it is rainy. Rained real hard and froze on as fast as it came and toward noon it rained hard and began thawing and it rained all afternoon and Mary E & Harry O tried Geography examination in the forenoon and in the afternoon Mary E & John C tried English exams and Jimmie went up and got John McMurrays Ladder and put up the aerial for the Radio. There is some thing with our Lighting plant It wont charge the batteries.

            Tues. Jan. 19: "In the forenoon Mary E & Harry Oliver tried Examinations (Arthmetic) and Emmons, Green & another fellow came out and worked on the Light plant and was here for dinner and broke a part before they got through and had to take the part and send it to the factory for they think it was defective so we had to get out our Kerosene Lamps. The children didn't have to try Exams in the afternoon and Mary E is about sick her tonsils are swollen"

            Wed. Jan. 20: "In the morning we didnt get up very early and the children didnt have to go to school in the forenoon and in the afternoon John C, Mary E & Harry O. had to try spelling and Jimmie, Florence & Lawrence went down to Marions and got her Washing Machine & Wringer and Florence stayed down and came home with Ed at night and Jimmie & Laurence went with the truck and got another load of Hay. Busy is not feeling very good"

            Thur. Jan. 21: "It was quite cold and we didnt get up very early and it snowed some and toward noon Jimmie & Lawrence went down and helped Jud clean out the Ice house. And in the afternoon Mary E went down to Marions and stayed all night she went with Ed and he had feed for Will McDougall and got stuck and had to go back around another way. In the afternoon Harry Oliver tried History Examination"

            Fri. Jan. 22: "In the morning we got up early and got ready to wash and they did a washing for Marion too and the boys & Marjory helped turn the machine & Wringer and they got done before noon and about eleven oclock Jimmie, Marjory & Lawrence went to Hudson Falls after Hazel and they got back about half past twelve and at night Mother, Jimmie, John C, & Harry O went down to Marions after Busy and the roads were drifted quite a lot and we went to a basketball game. The Juniors town team played and the High school teams played against each other.  Mary E, Marjory & John C all played."

            Sat. Jan. 23: "In the morning we didnt get up very early and the women folk got their work done and in the afternoon Mother, Hazel & I went out to Glens Falls and I had a treatment at John Henrys and Bernice McWhorter went out with us and Eva came home with us and after we had supper John Henry came he had to work late and Eva didn't want to stay alone. Mary E is about sick can hardly talk her throat is swollen so. at night Mother & her went to the Doctors & got some stuff for her throat. John Henry put his car in Juds garage at night."

            Sun. Jan. 24: "In the morning we were late getting up and we went to church and John H went with us and Eva stayed home with Mother, Busy, Florence & Oliver and in the afternoon John H & Eva went over to McWhorters a while and then went home about Four or half Past and Busy isn't any better and Mother is not feeling very good. The wind blew very hard in the forenoon but it was nice in the afternoon at night Hazel & Marjory & John C went to Prayer Meeting   Jimmie is taking cold or grip."

            Mon. Jan. 25: "In the morning we got up pretty good season and the children went back to school but Mary E was not able her throat is no better and Mother is hardly able to get around her arms & hands & shoulders ache so she can hardly stand it The Dr came down and gave them some medicine and before night Mother was feeling some better but Mary Es throat is not any better. Hazel went to school up here in Miss McMurrays room. In the forenoon the men came out to get the Electric plant to working and had to give it up  they are going to send for a man from the factory."

            Tues. Jan. 26: "In the morning we got up pretty good season and the children went to school but Mary E & Florence did not go and in the afternoon Hazel & Helen Foster went up to Goose Island to school and at night Marion & Ed & Helen came up and Ed and John C & Jimmie & Lawrence went up on the ice to skate and Lawrence & Jimmie came home in a little while Mother is some better but Mary E doesn't seem to get any better Jimmie took the truck in the afternoon and went to the pond and helped with the Ice and at night brought down a load to put in Juds Ice house."

            Wed. Jan. 27: "In the morning we got up about seven o clock and after we had breakfast Jimmie & I went out to Hudson Falls with Hazel & Jimmie brought me back and and then he went to work on the ice and Mother called the Doctor down again and he thinks Mary E has tonsilitis and that one tonsil is going to gather & break Mother is better but is weak & Lame & sore all over. In the afternoon Jimmie drawed ice for Jud Marjory, John C & Harry Oliver went to school."

            Thur. Jan. 28: "Cold & Blustry Hard Wind   In the morning we got up pretty good season and Jimmie & Lawrence took the truck and finished drawing Ice to fill the Ice house down at Jud Williams we are to have a share of the Ice and it was a bad day. Mary E throat is some better Marjory, John C & Harry O went to school and after school the boys took the car and went down the road aways and got stuck and broke the chains and had to take the truck and Jud Williams and got it out and back home. It has been a bad blustry day."

            Fri. Jan. 29: "In the morning we didnt get up very early and Oliver didnt feel and didn't go to school and Mary E's throat is some better and in the afternoon Jimmie & I went out to Hudson Falls after Hazel and it is cold. Florence went with us and she and I were cold.  At night the young folks went to a basketball game and after that they went to North Argyle church to a social."

            Sat. Jan. 30: "In the morning we didnt get up very early and and the women got their work done and in the afternoon Jimmie Hazel and I went out to the Drs at Glens Falls and Bernice McWhorter went with us to do some shopping and it was dark when we got home. Mother isnt feeling able to ride so far so didnt go she isn't getting much better. In the forenoon Emmons & Green came out and fixed the engine working again so we can have lights.

            Sun. Jan. 31: "We were late getting up this morning and I have quite a cold so I didnt go to church or Mother or Mary E, Oliver of Florence and at night the young folks went to Prayer Meeting."

            Mon. Feb. 1: "It looked pretty stormy but the folks got up early and Hazel & Marjory stayed home and done the washing and before they got through washing it stormed hard and stormed hard all day The rest of the children went to school but Florence It was the first Mary E has been to school since she was sick.  My cold is some better and Mother helped some with the washing and it made her worse and she was in awful pain before night and had the Doctor come down again."

            Tues. Feb. 2: "In the morning we got up pretty good season and Jimmie & I went out to Hudson Falls to take Hazel out to school and the rest of the children went to school here and mother got dinner for us and the girls did up the other work. The wind blew some and the sun came out and dried the most of the clothes and Marjory got them in and Mary E Ironed quite a lot of them."

            Wed. Feb. 3: "In the morning we didnt get up very early and the girls had to hurry to get all their work done and get to school on time and it was a nice day but quite cold. and at night after school Marjory went down to McWhorters and stayed a while and and Mary E cleaned up the sitting room and Marjory finished the Ironing. It was all mother could do to get the dinner in time for the kids at noon."

            Thur. Feb. 4: (Written in Marjory's handwriting till otherwise noted)    "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did the work before they went to school.  It snowed and blowed most of the day. After school Marjory went up to Helen Foster's for a while. Mother is not feeling much better."

            Fri. Feb. 5: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We did not have any school because of a teacher's conference. Hazel went from Hudson Falls up to Glens Falls to this Conference. At night she went down and stayed at John Henry's and Eva's."

            Sat. Feb. 6: "In the morning we did not get up very early. The girls did the work and Mother did the baking. In the    Jimmie, Johnny and I went out to Glens Falls to see the Doctor. Hazel went to the Conference that forenoon. Hazel and Bernice McWhorter came home with us. Toward the night it began snowing.

            Sun. Feb. 7: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church except Mother and Jimmie. We took the car and up by the corner of back street we got into the snow and took quite a while to get out. After they did get out they went over to John Barkley's to turn around. They left the car down in front of Wallace's. In the afternoon Jimmie hitched up King and took mother for a ride and after they got back Hazel and Florence went for a ride. In the evening the young folks went to Christian Endeavor. In the afternoon Lawrence came over."

            Mon. Feb. 8: (Written in Georgiana's handwriting )  "Cold & Frosty about zero.  In the morning we got up quite early and Jimmie & I went out to Hudson Falls with Hazel to go to school and W J McDougall came down and wanted to ride out to Fort Edward and he got here before breakfast and it was cold and cold riding and in the afternoon Jimmie & Lawrence went up street and did some errands"

            Tues. Feb. 9: "(Written in Marjory's handwriting until otherwise noted) " In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to school. In the afternoon James & Lawrence took the car and went to Hudson Falls after Hazel. At night Hazel, Marjory, James, John C and Mary E went up to Cuthbert's to the social.  We went up to Pykett's and went on the load which Merritt Reynolds took."

            Wed. Feb. 10: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Hazel was intending to go to school but could not get through because it was drifted. The children all went to school except Florence. Hazel did the most of the house work."

            Thur. Feb. 11: "In the morning we didn't get up very early. The children all went to except Florence. In the forenoon Mr. Emmons came out and brought the charger and connected it up with the engine. He put it on wrong and run the battery all out. Father took sick after supper and was sick all night."

            Fri. Feb. 12: (Written in Georgiana's handwriting ) "6 above pleasant but quite cold      It was quite cold this morning and we had quite a time last night with father. he was taken with pains in his bowels after supper last night and there didn't any thing seem to help him and about nine oclock we called the Dr and he didn't seem to help him any. he didn't get any better until about 4 oclock. and then he got to sleep and when he woke up in the morning he had cramps all over but got over them. Marion & Helen came up and stayed all day until school time at night. Marjory stayed home from school and Hazel didn't have any school so they were here to do the work."

            Sat. Feb. 13: (Written in Marjory's handwriting until otherwise noted)  "In the morning we got up quite early. Then Hazel and Marjory did a washing. Then the girls cleaned up. In the afternoon Jimmie and Johnny went to Fort Edward and got the Doctor and he came out and worked on Mother and I. At night about half past nine Hazel and Jimmie took him out to Fort Edward. Mother is not feeling very well."

            Sun. Feb. 14: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Hazel, Marjory, James, and John C went to church. In the afternoon Harry's folks came over. While they were here the McWhorter girls and Lawrence came over. In the afternoon it began to snow. It snowed hard. It was snowing hard so the young folks did not go to Christian Endeavor. Mother is not any better yet."

            Mon. Feb. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie and Johnny and I went to take Hazel out to school at Hudson Falls. Jimmie and Mother got dinner and the girls did the rest of the work before they went back to school. Mother is not any better."

            Tues. Feb. 16: "In the morning we got quite early. The girls done the work before they went to school. Mother and Jimmie got dinner and the girls did the rest of the work before they went back to school. Mother has a pretty hard job getting around the house."

            Wed. Feb. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did the work before they went to school. Mother and Jimmie got the dinner. Jimmie went up street with the car and got some groceries. Then he went back up to the top of the Argyle Hill and watched them demonstrate the new snow plow. After supper Lawrence came and listened on the Radio a while. Mother is feeling some better today."

            Thur. Feb. 18: "In the morning we did get up quite early. Marjory and Florence did not go to school. Marjory stayed at home to make something to eat. In the forenoon the Doctor came down and gave mother some medicine. In the afternoon Mr. Wallace's folks came down and stayed a while."

            Fri. Feb. 19: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Marjory and Florence did not go to school. I was snowing hard in the afternoon. In the afternoon Jimmy and Johnny went out to Hudson Falls to get Hazel. They were going to have the ministrel show tonight but it snowed too hard in the afternoon. About five o'clock it cleared off and the wind blew the snow some and drifted."

            Sat. Feb. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did the washing in the forenoon. In the afternoon Howard Snyder came down to talk over business with us.  Jimmy & Lawrence drove down to McMorris'    At night Mr Gage came down."

            Sun. Feb. 21: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church except Mother, Oliver and I & Mary E & Florence. Afternoon Johnny, Jimmie, Lawrence and I took our car and went out to the hospital to see Harry S. After they had gone a while Marion & Ed and the children came up. They stayed for supper. At night Hazel, Marjory, Johnny & Jimmy went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Feb. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. There was not any school up here but Hazel did. Jimmy & Johnny & Oliver took Hazel out to Hudson Falls to school. Father was taken sick in the night and is not feeling very well. In the morning the boys went up and got the Doctor and brought him down to see father. Joe Smith was pretty bad the night before."

            Tues. Feb. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning We all went to school except Florence. Jimmy & Mother got dinner. Father & Mother are feeling some better."

            Wed. Feb. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmy got the car fixed up and the chains on. In the afternoon Jimmy took Cora Smith, John & Helen Foster out to her Mother's funeral at Fort Edward. Mrs. McWhorter rode out with them to the go on the train. He didn't get back until after school was out. At night Jimmy took the horse and went away and Marjory went to Prayer meeting with Margaret & Lawrence. In the afternoon Johnny stayed home from school."

            Thur. Feb. 25: "In the morning we got up quite early. They all went to school except Florence & Marjory. In the forenoon Jimmy & Lawrence took the truck and went out to Odgens to get some hay for Lawrence but did not get much. Then they were going out after sawdust and it snowed hard and they didn't go. Toward night it changed to rain and Mr. Pykett was here a while. At night Johnny, Mary E, and Marjory & Lawrence went up to North Argyle at a social at the church. They went with Lawrence's horse. Johnny lost the key to the back doors."

            Fri. Feb. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to school except Florence. Before school time Jimmy took King and went to John McMurray's to see if he could get a key to unlock the back doors. They found some that would unlock the doors."

            Sat. Feb. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early. After breakfast Jimmy, Johnny, Oliver and Florence went to Hudson Falls after Hazel. And Mrs. McWhorter rode from Hudson Falls with them. Ruth Saunders rode out with them too. In the afternoon Jimmy & Lawrence took the truck and went out to Hudson Falls to get a load of sawdust. John Liddle came down in the afternoon for a while and Margaret Bain came up  for a while. After they went Hazel and Marjory went up to Joe Smith's . At night the boys went up to Harold Yarter's and bought eleven hens."

            Sun. Feb. 28: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church except Oliver and Mother & I. In the afternoon Lawrence came over & Jimmy and him went up to see Joe Smith. After a while Marion & Helen came up. Ed brought them up and he had Mary & Ruth Saunders. He was going to take Ruth out to Hudson Falls. and Johnny went with him. They stayed for supper. At night Hazel, Marjory, Mary E. Johnny, & Jimmie went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Mar. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmy & Johnny & I took Hazel out to school John Liddle came down and rode out with us. After school Marjory & Florence went up and got there hair cut. At supper Lawrence came over and wanted to know if Jimmy would go with him to see if he could find some hay. While they were going out of the yard they tipped over and Old Charley began to run and there was a car coming up and the car run into the snow bank and the horse run into the car and cut him. They shoveled them out and then the car went on."

            Tues. Mar. 2: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to school except Florence. In the forenoon Jimmy and Lawrence went out to Hudson Falls. It is snowing. After school Mary E went up and got her hair cut. At night there was a minstrel show and we all went. Mother was pretty tired when she got home. Hazel came out with Harry's folks. Harry came over too. She went back with them that night. We came home and brought father & Mother home and we all went back again except Oliver."

            Wed. Mar. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to school except Florence. Jimmy did not do much of anything. At night Maragret McWhorter was coming over and get Jimmy to go up and help her light the lights up to the church because Lawrence was not home he went to Cambridge with Mr. Collins. Jimmy & Johnny went up with her and then came back and went over and did there chores. Today we started getting milk over there."

            Thur. Mar. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to school except Florence. Jimmy just chored around and didn't do much of anything. Mother is feeling some better. Just before noon Robert Hale came down and we ordered some seeds from him."

            Fri. Mar. 5: "In the morning we got up quite early. Johnny is sick this morning. and he did not go to school. All the rest went except Florence. Jimmy went up to Lawrence Dennis' to help saw wood. He got home in the middle of the afternoon. Harry's folks came over in the afternoon and Hazel came out with them. They stayed for supper and then went to a Junior dance up to the Grange Hall. Johnny is feeling some better tonight. Hazel, Jimmy & Marjory went to the dance."

            Sat. Mar. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver is not feeling very well this morning. Johnnie he is better and up around. The girls did  up the work in the forenoon. In the forenoon Jimmy went up to Lawrence Dennis' to help saw wood. When he came home he was not feeling well and laid around all the rest of the day. At night there were two ball games up here and Johnny, Hazel, Mary & Myself and Lawrence went up to the ballgame. The Doctor came down to see Jimmy & Oliver and he rode back with them when they went to the ballgame. Mother is feeling some better."

            Sun. Mar. 7: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We did not go to church because they did not have any. Jimmy and Florence are sick with the grip. Oliver is feeling better. At night Hazel and Marjory and Mary E went to Christian Endeavor. Hazel was leader. When Ed went back from taking the milk he stopped a while. Lawrence was over in the forenoon."

            Mon. Mar. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel got up and got dressed but she does not feel very well and did not go to school. Jimmy & Florence both got dressed but do not feel very well yet. Marjory did not go to school. Oliver did not go in the forenoon but went in the afternoon."

            Tues. Mar. 9: (Georgiana's handwriting)  "In the morning we didn't get up very early and the children all went to school here except Florence and Hazel did not feel very good was not able to be up until about noon. Oliver was able to go to school but does not feel as good as he did before. Jimmie is not very good yet   lays around part of the time."

            Wed. Mar. 10: "In the morning we or the folks got up quite early and Marjory and Busy stayed home from school and they and mother done the washing and Hazel didnt feel very good yet so marjory stayed home in the afternoon and took the clothes off the line and they did some of the Ironing." (Marjory's handwriting)  "In the afternoon Jimmie & Lawrence went to the farm to get a load of wood."

            Thur. Mar. 11: (Georgiana's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early and Hazel intended to go to school but didnt feel very good and thought she would not go this week but is was such a nice day that mother thought she would like to go to West Hebron to see her mother and Hazel felt better before noon so in the afternoon Hazel, Jimmie, Florence, Mother & I went over there and Lawrence McW. went with us. and it was pretty good going better than we expected. It thawed quite a little."

            Fri. Mar. 12:  (Marjory's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. Jimmie helped Mother do some of the work and get dinner. Jimmie and Lawrence went up to Gage's to get a load of wood with the horse."

            Sat. Mar. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early. The folks did not go to Glens Falls because of bad roads.

            Sun. Mar. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early.  We went to church."

            Mon. Mar. 15: "In the morning we got quite early. Jimmie and Johnnie went to Hudson Falls to take Hazel out to school. The children all went to school."

            Tues. Mar. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school."

            Wed. Mar. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie. In the afternoon Jimmie and Lawrence McWhorter went to Bryon Eddy's auction. Hazel came out with Morgan Boyd to go to a church social. The children all went to the social."

            Thur. Mar. 18: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Jimmie and I took Hazel out to school."

            Fri. Mar. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie. Jimmie helped Mother do the housework and get dinner. In the afternoon Jimmie, Florence, and I went out to Hudson Falls to get Hazel. At night we all went up to the town hall to the Senior play."

            Sat. Mar. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the work. It is raining this morning. In the forenoon Mrs. McDougall came down with John Cuthbert and was here for dinner. In the afternoon Mother, Hazel, Jimmie, Mrs. McDougall and I went up to the church to Lorenzo Gilchrist's funeral. In the afternoon Ed, Marion, Lill  came up and went to Glens Falls and left Edward here."

            Sun. Mar. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church except Mother and Hazel and Florence. Edward Jr. was up here.  In the afternoon Marjory, Hazel and the boys and myself went down to Mr. Johnson's. After we got back Harry's folks came over and stayed the rest of the afternoon. Then Lill & Ralph came up after Edward and took him home. At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Mar. 22: "In the morning we got up early. We did a very big washing in the morning. Jimmie and Johnnie went to Hudson Falls to take Hazel out to school. The children all went to school except Jimmie. Marjory and Mary E did not go in the forenoon and Marjory did not go in the afternoon. Jimmie cleaned up the car after they got home. The girls did all the ironing today.

            Tues. Mar. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmy. In the afternoon Jimmy went down to Yarter's to saw wood and they didn't need him.

            Wed. Mar. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmy. In the afternoon after school Mr. Gage came down."

            Thur. Mar. 25: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie. Jimmie drew out Manure. At night Mr. Howard Todd and Bert Mix came down canvassing. In the morning Ed and Marion went with the milk and they left Helen here. They came back at noon and were here for dinner. Mary McEachron and Mildred Pykett came down at noon to see Helen. At night Mrs. McWhorter and Lawrence came over. Jimmie & Johnnie took the horse and went away."

            Fri. Mar. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie. Hazel got out of school early and came out with John H. Guthrie he was coming out so she came out with him. After school Hazel and Marjory went to Collins to get something for Lill's shower. At night we all went up to the town hall to a play given by the North Greenwich church people. In the afternoon Jimmie drew out Manure."

            Sat. Mar. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the work. After dinner the boys took King and the wagon and went up to the farm and got a load of wood. They did not get back until late at night. In the afternoon Marion and the children, Lill, Mary and Floss came up with   they were going up to Lill's shower. They left Edward and Ruth here. Hazel took the car and went up to the shower. Ed & Marion did not come until after ten o'clock after the children."

            Sun. Mar. 28: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. In the afternoon Bernice & Lawrence McW. came over and listend on the radio. At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Mar. 29: "In the morning we got up early.  Father and Jimmie, Johnnie when to Hudson Falls to take Hazel out to school. The women folks got up early and did a washing before the girls went to school. After school was out Clayton and Mary came along and stopped. for a while. After that the girls took the clothes off from the line."

            Tues. Mar. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie and Marjory did not go in the forenoon because she burned her fingers. Mother finished Florence's dress. At night Marjory went up to the M. E. Church to the donation. At night Cora McLenithan stopped in for a little while."

            Wed. Mar. 31: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie. Jimmie helped Mother get the plants set out in a big box."

            Thur. Apr. 1:  (Georgiana's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early and the children all went to school except Jimmie and in the forenoon Harry Smith came over after and Jimmie helped mother some about getting dinner and in the afternoon Jimmie & I went out to get Hazel and Florence & Lawrence McW went with us and we got home about 5 oclock. (Marjory's handwriting) Mother sewed the Aster seeds."

            Fri. Apr. 2: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Hazel and she had vacation. Hazed dyed her blue dress black. At night after school We all went down to Marion's because it was Helen's birthday. We all stayed a while. Busy stayed and did not come home."

            Sat. Apr. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the work. Levi McDougall came down in the forenoon to see if he could ride out to Glens Falls in the afternoon and he did. We all went except Busy. It snowed hard. The doctor came down to J. H Guthrie's . We did not get home until late. To-day is the day of the Congregational dinner. At night it was raining."

            Sun. Apr. 4: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Hazel, Marjory, James, Johnnie went to church. In the afternoon Hazel and Marjory went down to the County House to the service with McWhorter's. At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor. When we got home Harry's folks were here, Earl stayed all night."

            Mon. Apr. 5: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls and mother did the washing. It rained and the clothes did not get dry. In the afternoon Hazel started to make her dress."

            Tues. Apr. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did the ironing in the forenoon. Hazel sewed most of the day. At night Hazel and Marjory went up to Collins."

            Wed. Apr. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. Mary E came from Marions with Ed and Marjory & Dorothy Todd went out with and spent the day in Glens Falls. In the afternoon Marion and Helen & Harold S came up and spent the afternoon. Harold stayed here. It rained nearly all day."

            Thur. Apr. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the forenoon Johnnie and Oliver took King and took Hazel down to Marion's At night Helen was taken sick with a high fever. In the afternoon Marjory went up to Dennis' to a W. C. T. U. meeting. At night Jimmie and Johnnie took Mother down to Marions and stayed all night."

            Fri. Apr. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Jimmie took the car and went down after Mother and Florence went too and she stayed until after dinner and she came up with Ed. At night we got ready to go over to West Hebron to see Uncle Tom's Cabin. We met Hazel at South Argyle. On our way over he had a flat tire. Helen is feeling some better."

            Sat. Apr. 10: "In the morning we did not get up very early. In the forenoon the girls did up the work. In the afternoon we all went to Glens Falls except Marjory, Johnnie and Oliver. They took Marjory down to Marion's and stayed. Helen is not feeling very well they had the Doctor for Her."

            Sun. Apr. 11: "In the morning we did not get up very early. They all went to church except Mother, and Johnnie, and I. Johnnie had a pain in his side. In the afternoon we all went down to Marion's to see Helen. She is not feeling very well yet. At night the young folk went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Apr. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. Johnnie, Jimmie and I went to take Hazel out to Hudson Falls. Marjory came up with Ed. School began again today. Helen is not feeling very good yet. Mother went down to Marion's and stay all.
            Tues. Apr. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early The children all went to school except Jimmie. Jimmie chored around. At night after school Busy went down to Marion's with Mary and stayed all night. Helen is feeling some better. In the forenoon Jimmie and I went down to Marion's to

get Mother."

            Wed. Apr. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early and mother and the girls washed. They got the washing all done before school time. Jimmie and Florence went down to Marion's after Busy. The children all went to school except Jimmie. After school the girls did the ironing. Jimmie chored around."

            Thur. Apr. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmy. He chored around. After school Busy went down to Marion's with Mary and stayed all night."

            Fri. Apr. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. Busy came up with Mary when she came to school. The children all went to school except Jimmy. Jimmie chored around. After school time Jimmie and I went out after Hazel."

            Sat. Apr. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up work. Jimmie was helping draw gravel for the new gas tank. In the afternoon Hazel, Johnnie and I went to Glens Falls. Oliver and Lawrence went to Glens Falls."

            Sun. Apr. 18: "We got up quite early in the morning.  We all went to church. In the afternoon Johnny and Jimmie went up to Gage's. The rest went over to West Hebron except Marjory and Oliver stayed at Marion's. The young folks went to Christian Endeavor at night."

            Mon. Apr. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. Mother and the girls did a washing. Jimmie and Johnnie went to Hudson Falls to take Hazel. I was sick this morning. The children all went to school except Florence & Marjory. The boys went down to Arch Reid's to get hay."

            Tues. Apr. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Jimmie. He helped draw hay for ourselves and McWhorter's."

            Wed. Apr. 21:  (Georgiana's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up early and the girls did most of the housework before school time and the children all went to school except Jimmie. He chored around and helped mother some."

            Thur. Apr. 22: "In the morning we got up good season and the children went to school and Jimmie went up to the Ralph Barkley place and worked on the road and he drove King and got home about half Past five at night."

            Fri. Apr. 23: "In the morning we got up pretty good season and the children all went to school and Jimmie worked on the road and after he got home we went out after Hazel and at night Hazel & Marjory went away they went to Hartford to a dinner. Helen came up before supper and stayed all night."

            Sat. Apr. 24: "In the morning we got up early and the women folk did their housework. and worked some out in the yard and we went out to Glens Falls and I had a treatment at John Henrys and the women folks took Eva up and they did some trading and after we got home a while John Henry & Eva came out and stayed all night.  Clayton was over a few minutes in the forenoon." (Marjory's handwriting)  "Helen went home with Ed and Henry when they came back from taking the milk."

            Sun. Apr. 25: (Georgiana's handwriting) In the morning we didnt get up very early and we all went to church and John Henry & Eva went with us and we stayed for Sabbath School and after dinner a while we went up to the cemetery and John Henry took his car too and they went home from there and at night the young folks wen to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Apr. 26: "In the morning we got up early and the women Folk done the washing and got done before school time Hazel went to Hudson Falls with Garry McEachron when he went out to court and Jimmie worked on the road."

            Tues. Apr. 27: "We got up early and the children all went to school. Jimmie worked on the road and at night Mother went up to Rev Wallace's with John C, Mary E & Harry O to see about joining the church and then we went on up to the hall to see the Hebron Folks that came over to get things ready for the play Uncle Toms Cabin they are going to give here for the North Argyle C. E. Society and we didnt get home until 10 oclock."

            Wed. Apr. 28: "In the morning we got up quite early and the girls helped do the work before school and the children all went to school except Jimmie & He worked on the road and at night Mrs Prescott telephoned out that Hazel had the German Measles and she took them at school but wasn't any sick with them."

            Thur. Apr. 29: "In the morning we got up good season and the children all went to school and Jimmie worked on the road and at night after Jimmie got back from work He & I went out after Hazel and Florence went with us and at night we all went to the Hall to the Uncle Toms Cabin given by the Hebron C E Society It was good and they had a house full took in about $120."

            Fri. Apr. 30: "In the morning we got up early and the children all went to school and Jimmie worked on the road and in the afternoon Hazel, Florence, Mother & I went out to Glens Falls and I had a treatment at John H's and Mother, Hazel & Florence stayed there while I was there and Eva came home from work before we was ready to come home. We saw an automobile smashup at the corner of Platt & Warren St just as we were ready to start home"

            Sat. May 1: "In the morning we didn't get up very early and the women folk got the housework done and work some out in the yard and after dinner we went to Preparatory service at the church and Robert Hale was ordained & installed as elder and Hazel, Marjory, James, Mother & I brought letters from the Hebron U P church and joined here and John C, Mary E & Harry Oliver joined too. and after church the women worked at some flowers and Hazel tried to clean the car. King was sick or something the matter with him. Garry came down at night to see him toward bedtime he seemed better. John C & Oliver raked Mrs Hall yard & burned it over"

            Sun. May 2: "In the night Jimmie & Johnnie got up and went out to the barn to see King but he was quiet and lying down and about Five oclock Mother woke Jimmie up and he went out but he seemed better and the we didnt get up until late and we went to church and left King out in the field and when we came home Johnnie went and got him and he seemed as bad or worse then ever and in the afternoon Jimmie went down and got Mr Yarter and he got him some medicine and it seemed to help him he seemed alright at night.  We had 2 or 3 Thunder Showers the young folks went to C. E."

            Mon. May 3: "In the morning we got up early and the boys and mother done the churning and tended to the butter. Jimmie & I went to Hudson Falls and took Hazel out to school. In the morning King was stamping and acting bad again and Mother telephoned to Dr Murray and he came out in the afternoon He left some Disinfectant to wash his legs with and some condition Powers to give him.  Jimmie worked for George Inman on the Streets.

            Tues. May 4: "We got up early and the women washed and got all done before school time and Jimmie worked on the Street again today at night the girls did the Ironing. Florence went to school."

            Wed. May 5: "In the morning we got up early and the children all went to school and Jimmie worked on the Street in the forenoon and at night we all went over to West Hebron to see Georgias Mother she is feeling pretty good now and we got home about ten oclock."

            Thur. May 6: "In the morning we got up quite early and Marjory is all broken out with German Measles but is not much sick. John C, Mary E & Harry O went to school and Helen Foster is teaching school in Miss Cronin's room and they have an awful school. might better close the school. Mary E came home and didnt go back again. Jimmie worked on the Street again today."

            Fri. May 7: (Marjory's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up early. Marjory is not feeling very well. Busy and Florence did not go to school but Johnnie and Oliver went. Jimmie chored around and dragged the garden. In the afternoon Jimmie and I went out to Hudson Falls after Hazel. After they got home Hazel and Mother went to Cossayuna to see about getting a school but could not get it. Then went up to see Joe McDougall about one and She got the one up on the street. After supper Jimmie took the car and went up to the Ridge after Bernice McWhorter. To-day was a good day"

            Sat. May 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. Marjory is feeling better this morning. The girls did up the work. Jimmie worked on the street in the forenoon but not in the afternoon. Mother and the boys put in the sweet peas. In the afternoon marked out a piece of ground and sowed some beans and corn. In the afternoon Mother, Hazel, Oliver and I went to Glens Falls. To-day is a good day."

            Sun. May 9: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. Marion, Ed and Helen came up and went to church. They stayed for dinner and stayed all afternoon. At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor. To-day is a good day."

            Mon. May 10: "In the morning we got up early. Hazel went to Hudson Falls with Lawrence. Johnnie brought four of his chickens in the house. The children all went to school except Florence. Jimmie didn't work on the road but he drew out manure. After the children got home from school they sowed the grass seed on the lawn. To-day it rained a lot during the night. The sun shone some but not much."

            Tues. May 11: "In the morning we got up early. The children all went to school except Florence. Jimmie went with Ed to unload carload of oats."  (Georgiana's handwriting)   "They didnt get through until nearly dark and it was late when they got home"

            Wed. May 12: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie went to work on the road and the other children went to school.  at night Marjory & Lawrence went out to Glens Falls and we went for a ride and got home about bed time"

            Thur. May 13: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie went to work on the road and the other children all went to school except Florence.  Johnnie has 24 chickens hatched from 27 Eggs and has them in the Corn house."

            Fri. May 14: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie went to work on the road and the children went to school except Florence and Hazel came home with Lawrence and after supper we all went down to Marions and saw Ed Burch & George Elliot after they had been pinned under their truck and the children helped to get them out. and Ed was away and Mary E stayed to keep Marion company. Jimmie is all breaking out with some kind of poison of some kind"

            Sat. May 15: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie went to work on the road and the women did their work and got ready to go to Glens Falls in the afternoon and Mrs MacWhorter & Bernice went with us and I had a treatment a Evas and it was nearly night when we got home. John C helped plant corn for Howland in the forenoon and in the afternoon he went to Hartford to play ball but they didnt play. and Oliver went with Lawrence on a trip around Fort Miller way and then went down to Fred MIllers and done chores."

            Sun. May 16: "In the morning we didnt get up until late and we all went to church except Mary E & Jimmie. Mary E is at Marions and Jimmie's face looks he didnt want to go. and in the afternoon we went over to Adamsville to Harrys and at night when we got home Marion & Ed was here with the children They had brought Mary E home and Ed had got the chores nearly done. The young people went to church to C. E. except Jimmie."

            Mon. May 17: "In the morning we got up quite early and Hazel drove the car out to Hudson Falls to school and the women folks washed and didn't get through until after school time but mother finished it and the girls went to school Jimmie worked on the road. Hazel came home about half past two oclock and took us to Joseph Randles to their baby's funeral and we went to the cemetery and Lawrence went with us and at night we took Hazel out to Dr Prescotts Jimmie's face is getting worse looks bad. After we got home from the Funeral we made a freezer of Ice Cream"

            Tues. May 18: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie went to work on the road and the children all went to school except Florence.  after school the boys & Marjory & Mother set out 4 apple trees & 2 Cherry trees. Rob Dinning came along delivering trees & bushes that Herb Ellis took orders for Marjory went out Hudson Falls with Lawrence & Margaret to a W C T U Meeting and we went up to the Farm   it was dark before we got there."

            Wed. May 19: "In the morning we got up early & Jimmie went to work on the road and the boys helped around the garden. and the children all went to school but Florence. The boys & Girls & Mother set out 2 Grape vines & 24 Raspberry bushes. & a Rose bush."

            Thur. May 20: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie went to the Dr's to see about his face and he told him it was getting along good and to keep on doing the same for it and he was too late to go with the road men and he took the Nash to go to work on the road and at night his face was worse and the children all went to school but Florence."

            Fri. May 21: (Marjory's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie did not go to work to-day. The children all went to school except Florence. In the afternoon Jimmie went with Lawrence up to Clair's after a cow. At night after school the boys and Lawrence went up to George McGowan's after some pigs. At night Busy & Marjory went to Hudson Falls with Lawrence to a Christian Endeavor Rally. The rest of the folks went for a ride up to Hutch Story's and when we got home Jimmie & Johnnie went up to the Grange hall to a Junior Dance. Helen was here and stayed all night. Hazel came home and also went to the Dance."

            Sat. May 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. Helen went home with Ed when he came back from taking the milk. In the afternoon Mother and Hazel, Florence and I went to Glens Falls. In the afternoon Jimmie and Johnnie planted some corn and beans. At night we all went to the Auto Club meeting at the Grange Hall. Busy has the measles."

            Sun. May 23: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church except Jimmie & Busy. Hazel and Marjory went up for some flowers in the woods above the cemetery. Then the rest went up to the woods and got a lot of Lillys and put them on the graves at the cemetary. At night the young folks went to the Christian Endeavor except Jimmie & Busy."

            Mon. May 24: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The women folks did the washing. Hazel did not go to school because she took us up to Craig Weir's funeral. Jimmie stayed home along. Ellen Cuthbert came down to go with us. And Marion also went and Florence went to stay with Floss and the youngsters. We went around by West Hebron. That night we came home by North Hebron and reached home about five o'clock. At night we took Hazel out to Hudson Falls. We did the most of the ironing."

            Wed. May 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Florence. In the afternoon Jimmie, Florence and I went out to Hudson Falls after Hazel to go to a social. The young folks went to a box social except Jimmie and Johnnie."

            Thur. May 27: "In the morning we got up quite early. Marion, Ed and the children came up and did her washing. The children all went to school except Florence  Ed has the measles. Mary came up with them and went to school. In the afternoon Jimmie took Mother and I up to the M. E. Church to Lena's Warren's funeral. After school Will Guthrie came along and sold us some stockings. Marion & Ed and the children went home before supper. In the forenoon Jimmie finished plowing the corn ground. He had Leslie Herrington's team. In the afternoon he used the disk on the whole field. Jimmie and I took Hazel out to Hudson Falls to school."

            Fri. May 28: "In the morning we got up quite early. The morning the children all went to school. Johnnie did not go in the P. M. He stayed home to plant corn. Jimmie had the team in the forenoon and dragged the field. Jimmie marked out the field. He went to Willard Durkee's to get the marker. In the afternoon Jimmie, Florence and I went out to Hudson Falls. At night after supper, Johnnie and Jimmie and Oliver and I went up to Robert Denning's to see about getting potatoes and he wasn't home. Jimmie went up to the dance up to the I. O. O. F. hall."

            Sat. May 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. Bob Denning brought down some potatoes and the boys planted them. The girls cleaned up the Parlor and the spare room in the forenoon. In the afternoon Jimmie, mother and I went to Glens Falls to see the Doctor's. The girls did house work most of the afternoon."

            Sun. May 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church and Ed, Marion and Helen came up. In the afternoon they went over Harry's. Mother, Jimmie and I came home and did not stay for Sunday school. There was an Anti-Saloon League man which talked today. In the afternoon Johnnie, Jimmie, Busy, Marjory, Hazel and I went down to the County house to the Declaration Service. From there we went down the road and got some lilacs. When we came back we went up to the Cemetery and left some of the flowers. When we came back we all went up to Hook for a ride. At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor. While they were at C. E. Marion, Nettie and the children came. And Eva & John H came and said that there had been a big fire in West Hebron We heard that Will Dixon died that night."

            Mon. May 31: (Georgiana's handwriting)  "Celebrated Memorial Day.  In the morning we got up early and did the washing and it looks like rain and did rain quite a little and after dinner we went up to the Hall and to the cemetery and then back to the hall to the Memorial day exercises and then down to the school grounds to a ball game and Marion & the children came down a while. and Marion left Helen here and they went to a dance at Hedges. Mother is about sick, but went with us. she is taking the Measles I guess"

            Tues. Jun. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early and the children all went to school except Florence and Jimmie & I went out and took Hazel & Florence & Helen went with us and Helen stayed all day and went home with Mary McE with the horse after school I looks like rain George Johnson drove in and visited awhile"

            Wed. Jun. 2: "In the morning we got up quite early. and the children all went to school except Florence and she went in the afternoon and Mother, Jimmie & I went to South Argyle to Will Dixons Funeral and we went to Belcher to the cemetery and then went on to West Hebron to see where the fire was George Craigs House & Barn and Jim Allens House & Barn and the Library was all destroyed it. We saw Mary and she is feeling pretty good but hasnt got rested since the fire. We came home around by the Farm and the Dr was here and tested our cow while were gone."

            Thur. Jun. 3: (Marjory's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning the boys put in the posts around the corn field and Jimmie went to Fort Edward to help Ed unload oats. The children all went to school. Jimmie did not get home until supper time. Mother is not feeling very good."

            Fri. Jun. 4: (Georgiana's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early and Mother is not feeling very good the girls do most of the work and Jimmie went and took the truck and took Lawrences young cattle down to a farm below South Argyle and took one for Crosby Hopkins and after they got back they dug the rest of the drain to see how much tile they will need and after dinner they went out to Fort Edward and got some tile and wire fence and to Hudson Falls after Hazel. at night the young Folks went to Coila to a Rally and took Lawrence & Mr Pykett & Mildred and we stayed home"

            Sat. Jun. 5: (Marjory's handwriting)  "In the morning we got up quite early. The boys put up the wire fence around the corn field. Johnnie went up with Ed to get a load of Slabs for his grandmother. In the afternoon Johnnie, Hazel, Marion, Lill, Helen and I went to Glens Falls. Mother is not feeling very well today. At the night the girls went up to the library and the boys went up street. Mother is not feeling very good"

            Sun. Jun. 6: "In the morning we didn't get up very early. We all went to church except Mother. Mother is not feeling very well. In the afternoon the boys went down with Lawrence to salt his cattle and the rest of us went to South Argyle for a ride. When we got home we all went for a ride together. We went to Fort Edward, and South Glens and then we came home. The young folks all went to Christian Endeavor at night."

            Mon. Jun. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning we did the washing. It rained and the clothes didn't very many get dry. Hazel did not have to go to school today. She went up and visited at Miss Cronin's room in the forenoon and in the afternoon she went up to Elsie Weir's school. At night after supper, Jimmie, Marjory, Hazel, Lawrence, Margaret, Marjorie Walker and Mr Pykett all went in our car out to Hudson Falls to a song rehearsal. Hazel stayed out. We had a hard thunder shower at night."

            Tues. Jun. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to school. The girls did the ironing at night after school. It is raining tonight some."

            Wed. Jun. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early. The boys and the women folks made butter and ice cream today because it was my birthday. I was sixty-four years old. In the afternoon Marion, Floss and the youngsters came up.  Floss went up to her father's and stayed. While they were here Harry S. came along and stopped. At night we all went out to Hudson Falls and got Hazel and went to the pictures. They were pretty good."

            Thur. Jun. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went down to help Howland Y. for the first. The children all went to school except Florence. At night after supper we went up to the cemetary and on up by Walt Lant's for a ride."

            Fri. Jun. 11: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went down to help Howland Y. The children all went to school. That night after school Johnnie and Oliver went up to Robert Hall's. to split wood. After supper we went to Hudson Falls after Hazel."

            Sat. Jun. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went down to work for Howland Yarter. The other boys fixed a place for the pigs and dipped them in disinfectant to kill the lice. The girls did up the House work. In the afternoon Hazel, Marjory, and I went out to the Doctor's. Mother is not feeling very good. In the afternoon Busy and Florence went up to the church to practice for children's day program. Johnnie and Oliver went up to Robert Hall's to split up wood. At night Marion & Ed  came up and left Helen and they went to the pictures. After supper Hazel and Marjory up to church to choir rehearsal."

            Sun. Jun. 13: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church because it was children's day. Marion, Ed and Helen came up and Harry's folks were over to church. Marion and Ed, Helen stayed for dinner and Garry came along and left the other two children. In the afternoon we all except Mother went for a ride. Before night Harry's folks came and stayed for supper. The young folks went to Christian Endeavor. After that we all went up to the Methodist Church to the children's day exercises."

            Mon. Jun. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The women folks did the washing. Marjory, Busy, Oliver had to go to try examinations in the forenoon. Hazel did not have to go in the forenoon. While they were washing Hazel had a funny spell. Mother called for the Doctor but was not home. She sent for Mrs. McWhorter to come over and she finished the washing. Hazel was not able to go out to try her exam. so Jimmie went out after a teacher and Mrs. Smith came out here to give her her exam. When she got through Jimmie and Florence went to take her back. At night Johnnie, Jimmie and Marjory went with Lawrence out to Glens Falls to see the circus but did not see any. Hazel is feeling better tonight."

            Tues. Jun. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel had to go to Hudson Falls to try examination. Jimmie and mother went with her. It is a very rainy day. In the forenoon Oliver and Busy had to go to try examinations. The girls did the ironing. Toward night came along and stopped for a while. After supper the boys all went with Lawrence down to see his cattle. It has been raining all day hard."

            Wed. Jun. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie started in working on the road again today. Marjory, Busy, Johnnie all had to go to try examinations in the forenoon and in the afternoon Johnnie, Busy and Oliver all had to go at three o'clock."

            Thur. Jun. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work on the road. Mother and the children all worked in the garden in the forenoon. Hazel had to go to Hudson Falls to try examinations. Ruth Saunders came up and rode out with her. In the forenoon Mrs. Ester McDougall came down and stayed a while. Hazel is feeling some better."

            Fri. Jun. 18: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. In the forenoon Hazel did not feel so well so Mother did not go to Glens Falls. Mrs McDougall went out to Glens Falls. Johnnie, Marjory and I went to the Falls. Marion and the children came up and Marion and Helen went to Hudson Falls to see about her thumb. At night the young folks went up the church to a Social. Jimmie took Marion and the children home with his car at night."

            Sat. Jun. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did up the house work. Hazel is feeling better today.  The boys went up to the church to help mow the lawn. At night we all went to the Auto Club meeting in the Grange Hall."

            Sun. Jun. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early.  We all went to church. In the afternoon Marion and the children, Mary & Floss came up. Mary and her mother went to see her mother Jimmie took them up  with his car. Toward night Ed came along and took Marion and the children home. At night we all went up to the church to the Baccalaureuate sermon the young folks went to Christian Endeavor. We all went over to Hebron Church because it was Children's Day."

            Mon. Jun. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks did the washing. They did all of the ironing today. In the afternoon Hazel, Johnnie and Marjory went to Fort Edward to Get a present for Ruth Cogan. After they got home Marion came up and stopped a few minutes and then went up after Mrs. Bussing. At night we all went up to the Church to the Commencement exercises."

            Tues. Jun. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The rest of us all went to the School picnic. In the afternoon they had a class day exercises. It is a nice day."

            Wed. Jun. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The other boys chored around. At night Marjory and Hazel went to Prayer Meeting. Marion and Ed came up to the Senior Ball and they left Helen here. She stayed all night."

            Thur. Jun. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The young folks went strawberrying  Marion, Ed, and the children came up and Marion, Ed, Helen, Mother and I went out to Hudson Falls to take Helen to the Doctor   then we went on up to the falls. The girls kept Edward and Ruth. We got home about five o'clock. After supper Hazel and Marjory took the car and went up to the Grange Hall where the Alumni banquet was held."

            Fri. Jun. 25: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did up the house work. The boys chored around. This is a nice day."

            Sat. Jun. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did up the work. In the afternoon Hazel, Florence, Mother and I went to Glens Falls. Johnnie and Oliver went up to the ball game. When Ed came along Mary E. went home with him to stay with Floss and helped to keep the kids. Marion and Ed went away.  Eva and John Henry came out and picked strawberries and came down here during the thunder shower."

            Sun. Jun. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early.  We all went to church except Mother and I and Busy was down to Marion's. In the afternoon we all went over to West Hebron after Grandma.  We stopped down to Marion's and got Mary E. and Helen. We came back by Gage's. At night Ed was up by and Helen went home with him. The young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Jun. 28: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks did a washing and Marion came up and did her washing. In the forenoon we all except Mother, Grandma, and I went up to the top of Argyle Hill to pick strawberries. We took down the clothes.  Busy & Marion ironed some in the afternoon. At night Marion and the children went home."

            Tues. Jun. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the forenoon the girls ironed. Jimmie went to work but did not work in the afternoon. In the afternoon we all went to Hudson Falls to get their licenses.  At night we all went to the church to a supper. We had a thunder shower at night."

            Wed. Jun. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road.  In the morning we all went up to the lower place after strawberries. When we got back Johnnie went out with Lawrence to help Ed unload oats. At night Jimmie and Marjory went away."

            Thur. Jul. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. In the morning Hazel went down and got Marion and the children.  Hazel, Marjory, Busy, Florence, Marion, and Bernice McWhorter went up to our lower place after strawberries. In the afternoon we picked over the berries. Johnnie went to help Ed unload oats. Dr. Mulcahy came out and gave me my treatment. In the afternoon Hazel, Marjory, Florence, Oliver went to Hudson Falls to take Mrs Prescott out some strawberries. At night we went to West Hebron to take Grandma home. Mary E went Home with Marion to help her do up her berries."

            Fri. Jul. 2: "In the forenoon we got up quite early. The girls did up the work. In the forenoon A man came an showed Alumnim dishes to the women folks. When Ed came back from taking the milk he stopped. Milton Gillis stopped and bought the truck. Jimmie went to work on the road. At night Jimmie, Hazel and Marjory went with Lawrence down to Saratoga to the state convention."

            Sat. Jul. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Johnnie and Hazel took the car up to Mr Smith's and Johnnie washed it. Lawrence went to Glens Falls after a new tire for us but did not get one. About noon we went to the Farm Beaura Picnic to Camp Billiken at Lake Cossayuna. At night after supper Busy, Johnny, Jimmie, Marjory, Hazel, Lawrence, and Mrs. Mac Whorter all went to Saratoga in our car. The Mrs. stayed."

            Sun. Jul. 4: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Church began at ten o'clock on account of the state convention and we all went. After we came home we put up a lunch and went to Saratoga. On the way down we had a flat tire. The boys took it and got it fixed because we did not have a spare. We waited about two hours there.  When we got to Saratoga we drove around a bit and we had another flat tire. We had that fixed and we got home without any more. We went to the evening session."

            Mon. Jul. 5: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Jimmie did not have to work on the road today.  The boys fooled around all day. At night we went to Greenwich to See Milton Gillis about the truck. It rained hard. Jimmie took the car up to the Garage and got a new tire for it. In the afternoon Johnnie and Jimmie went up to Foster's but there was no body home."

            Tues. Jul. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Marion and the children came along and stopped a while. While they were here David and Mrs. Foster came down and Johnnie hired out to them for a month. He is to go to work next Monday. Before noon Busy, Florence, Oliver went up to a Junior Missionary picnic. That night we had a very hard thunder shower. At night Milton Gillis came after the truck. He waited until after the shower before he went."

            Wed. Jul. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Marion came up and they did their washing together.  In the afternoon Marion and Hazel went to a shower for Leona Williams. Marion went down after Lill and her and Lida went with them. The women folks kept the other children.  The girls did all of the ironing. After supper Mrs. MacDougall came down her while Thomas Mack went to prayer Meeting. After it was over he came down after her. In the afternoon Johnny went to South Argyle with Ed and bought a bicycle."

            Thur. Jul. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Hazel mended and Marjory baked. In the afternoon We went down to the Hebron Church picnic which was held at Will Randle's. When we came back Johnnie stopped down to Yarter's to help milk.  After supper we went over to Harry S's because it was Harold's birthday."

            Fri. Jul. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The boys took the horse and cow down and turned them in Jud William's pasture. In the forenoon the children found two kitten up  stairs in the open chamber. In the afternoon Johnny cultivated the corn and potatoes and Oliver hoed the corn. At night we had a very hard thunder shower."

            Sat. Jul. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did the house work. The boys chored around out of doors. In the afternoon Mother, Hazel, Florence, Mary E, Marjory and I all went to Glens Falls to see the Doctor.  We had quite a hard shower here in the afternoon and the lightening struck Ed Randles house and did some damage. At night Marion, Ed and the children came up. Hazel, Marjory went to choir practice."

            Sun. Jul. 11: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. In the afternoon Marion, Ed and the children came up. Eva and Jack came along and stopped a while. At night the young folks all went to Christian Endeavor. After C. E. all of them went up to the Methodist Church except Mary E and she came home and went home with Marion. She is going to stay for a week."

            Mon. Jul. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie now is having two weeks vacation from working on the road. The women folks did the washing. In the morning Jimmie took Johnnie up to David Foster's to begin to work.  When he got back he cultivated the corn and potatoes. At the night Hazel and Marjory took the car and went up to Ellen Cuthbert's to a Young Women's Missionary Meeting."

            Tues. Jul. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not do much of anything.  The women folks cleaned house some. They took down the sitting room stove. They made ice cream in the forenoon.  In the afternoon Marion, Ed, Busy and the children came up and they left Edward, Ruth and Mary E. and Mother and I went with them out to Hudson Falls to see the Doctor about Helen's thumb. They stayed for supper. Harry's folks came over for supper also. Jimmie, Ed, Oliver went to David Foster's  after Johnnie and he came down for supper. This is Earl's and Mother's birthday. Earl and Harold stayed."

            Wed. Jul. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie didn't do much of anything,  In the afternoon Marjory and Hazel went up to Cornell's to a W. T. C. U. meeting. At night we went out to Hudson Falls after some cabbage plants."

            Thur. Jul. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the forenoon we set out the cabbage plants. Then Hazel, Marjory, Florence went down to Marion's to pick Raspberries. In the afternoon Hazel picked the currents. At night we finished setting out the cabbage plants. Then we went up to Gage's and Hazel stopped to see Joe McDougall's. Gage had his cows tested and they all have T. B. In the afternoon Leslie Herrington came and mowed our hay."

            Fri. Jul. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel, Marjory, Harold, Florence went down to Marion's to pick berries. In the afternoon Hazel and Marjory and I went out to Glens Falls. The boys raked and bunched the hay. At night Jimmie,  Hazel, Marjory went over to the Will Randles to a dance."

            Sat. Jul. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The boys drawed in the hay. In the afternoon Johnnie and Oliver went up to help Rob Hale draw in hay. The rest of us went up to the cemetery where they unveiled and dedicated a new tablet. In the morning Marion brought Busy and Helen up and Helen stayed and went with us to the Auto Club. Jimmie went up to Wilbur McDougall's and hired out to him. Earl and Harold went home and Helen did also.  Johnnie came home with David Fosters."

            Sun. Jul. 18: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church.  The Rev. DeWitt MacEachron preached. In the afternoon Jimmie went to Glens Falls with Lawrence.  The girls all went up to the church with Bernice to pump the organ in the afternoon. At night we all went up to the church to the fiftith anniversary.  Mr. W. S. MacEachron preached and also Mrs. Ralston. The had a wonderful service. There was a hard shower during Christian Endeavor before the service."

            Mon. Jul. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. I was sick about all night and am not feeling very good this morning. Jimmie went and took Johnnie to David Foster's to work then he came back and went up to Wilbur McDougall's to work for a week. The women folks did not wash today. The Chautaugua began today. We all went except Mother and I and Jimmie. At night we all went. I am feeling better."

            Tues. Jul. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women folks did the washing. In afternoon we all went to Chautaugua. Johnnie was down with David's folks. At night they were down and we all went. The girls did most of the ironing this forenoon. Jimmie came down at night and stayed all night and went back the next day."

            Wed. Jul. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls finished up the work and finished up the ironing. Some of us went up street on a little business and Marjory went with Florence to get her hair cut. In the afternoon we all went up to the Chautauqua. After it was over Mary Emma Weir came down for supper. Then we all went up to the Chautauqua. This ends it for this year. Jimmie came down and stayed all night and went back in the morning."

            Thurs. Jul. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The girls did up the work. I am not feeling very well. I wanted to go for a ride in the afternoon so we started out and we went down to Marion's. The girls all went and picked some berries. for her. While we were down there we have a very hard thunder shower. At night I was not feeling so good."

            Fri. Jul. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the work. I am not feeling very and did not get up until pretty near night. In the afternoon Hazel and Marjory went up to Heddie MacEachron's auction. We got home about five o'clock. At night I got up and we all except Marjory went over to  Will Randle's camp to the dance. I am feeling some better."

            Sat. Jul. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the work. In the afternoon we all went to Glens Falls to see my Doctor. He did not work on me very hard. When we came back we stopped at Fort Edward to do some groceries.  When we got home I was awful tired. I lay down on the sofa and did not have much supper. Jimmie came home and Johnnie came down on his bicycle. The Alumnuim man came with the dishes Mother had bought. I was sick about 2 o'clock and Mother, Jimmie, Hazel and Marjory set up with me."

            Sun. Jul. 25: "In the morning we got up pretty good season. Jimmie went up after the Doctor to see me. I am  not feeling any better. After breakfast Marion and Helen came up to see me. About dinner time Lawrence came in and he stayed for dinner. In a little while Mrs. McWhorter came in. We didnt any of us go to church. nor C. E. After Christian Endeavor Mr. Pykett came down to see me. About five o'clock John Henry and Eva came along and they stopped for a while. I am feeling some better."

            Mon. Jul. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did the washing.  Jimmie took Johnnie up to work and he came back and went to work on the road. In the forenoon about ten o'clock Hazel went to take Williams folks out to Fort Edward in their car. She got back about twelve o'clock. In the afternoon the girls finished taking down the clothes and the ironing. I am  not feeling very good yet but some better. I got up about six o'clock and stayed up a couple of hours. The girls all went up street for a walk."

            Tues. Jul. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls were going to pick berries down to Marion's but Mrs. William's wanted Hazel to take them out to Fort Edward so we did not go. In the afternoon Mary E went up to Lois Todd's to practice for a song. There is going to be a social up to the church and Hazel is the boss of it. I am feeling some better today. I got up about noon and stayed for a couple of hours then layed down to rest again. In the afternoon Hazel took Mrs. Williams folks out to Glens Falls. Marion and Ed came up in the afternoon with the truck to get a load of slabs. Oliver went down to Orley's MacAuley's to work and at night we went down after him and Marion rode home with us."

            Wed. Jul. 28: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls went down to Marion's to pick berries. Oliver went down with them to work for Orley. They got quite a number of berries.  In the afternoon Hazel went and gave Marjory a lesson driving the car. At night after supper we  all went down to Marion's and picked cherries for her and she gave us some. Ed was not home so Hazel stayed with Marion all night. Before we got home it began to rain."

            Thur. Jul. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not go to work on the road. It was kind of rainy so Oliver did not go down to work for Orley. Florence is not feeling very well.  She has pains in her bowels. About noon Harry S came along and stopped for a while.  While he was here Marion came up and brought Hazel and all the children. They stayed all afternoon. About five they went home. I am feeling some better."

            Fri. Jul. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did up the house work.  Florence isn't feeling much better. In the afternoon we went for a ride. At night we took Florence up to see the Doctor then we went for another little ride. Jimmy went out to the carnival at Hudson Falls with Lawrence. I am feeling some better."

            Sat. Jul. 31: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Oliver went to Glens Falls with Lawrence. The girls did up the work. Today is the day of the Auto Club Picnic but we did not go because Florence was not able and it was too long a ride for me. In the afternoon we went for a ride. Oliver and Lawrence went up to Gage's. At night it rained. Jimmie and Oliver went after Johnny and he came home."

            Sun. Aug. 1: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We did not go to church because we did not have any. The boys made Ice Cream in the forenoon. In the afternoon we went over to the Lake and Florence, Mary E, Johnny, Jimmy all went in bathing. We went down the other side of the Lake. When we came back we drove up to Marion's for a few minutes.  Florence is not feeling so well tonight. The young folks all went to Christian Endeavor except Mary E & Florence. Marjory was the leader. I am feeling better now."

            Mon. Aug. 2: "In the morning we did not get up very early. It was raining and Jimmie did not go to work in the forenoon but did in the afternoon. Johnny did not go back because it was so wet he couldn't do anything.  The boys just chored around in the forenoon. The women folks did not wash because it was rainy. Florence is feeling some better today, I am feeling better also. In the afternoon we had a very hard shower. At night Jimmy came home sick."

            Tues. Aug. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women folks did a washing. Jimmie is feeling some better but did not go to work on the road. In the afternoon Nettie and the boys came along and stopped for a while. After that we had an awful thunder shower the wind blew hard and blew some of the clothes off from the line. At night we went for a little ride. I am feeling some better and Florence is too. It was rainy so Johnnie did not go up to work."

            Wed. Aug. 4: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Jimmie went to take Johnnie up to work. The women did the ironing. About noon Hazel went to take Mrs. Williams out to Fort Edward. After dinner we all went to Hudson Falls to see Mr. Fisk. It has been a good day. We are all feeling better today. We got a new screen door and we fixed it. While we were fixing it Clayton and Mary came along for a while. Ed came up after Busy and she went down to Marion's and stayed with Floss and helped to keep the kids."

            Thur. Aug. 5: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road today. In the morning Hazel went to take Oliver down to Orley's to work and Mary E. came home with them.  We took Florence up to see the Doctor. In the afternoon we put new screen in three doors. At night we went down after Oliver and went around and stopped to Lill's for a while."

            Fri. Aug. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks pulled weeds out of the garden about all forenoon. In the morning Hazel took me up to the barber shop to get shaved. After dinner we all went out to Glens Falls to see my Doctor. At night when we got home we went over to the Lake to a dance."

            Sat. Aug. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did up the work. Oliver went up to see the Doctor about his leg. In the afternoon We all went down to Marion's We kept the kids while Marion & Hazel went to a shower for Grace Todd. We brought Edward and Helen home with us. After supper David & Mary brought Johnnie down. They stayed a while then we went over to the Lake. They had a Randle's Band over to the lake and had a concert."

            Sun. Aug. 8: "In the morning we got up about eight o'clock. We all went to church. In the afternoon we went over to the lake to the Band  Concert. To-day is Edward's birthday. We came home about five o'clock. At night the young folks all went to C. E."

            Mon. Aug. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road but he took Johnnie up to work first. The women folks washed. About then o'clock my rupture came down and we had Doctor Tiltson come out but Mother got it back before he came.  The girls went to cleaning the woodshed. It was quite a job but they finished. They are all quite tired."

            Tues. Aug. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did the ironing. In the morning Hazel, Florence and I took Oliver down to Orley's to work. In the afternoon Marion and the children came up and Mother and I went out with Marion to see about Helen's thumb and the girls kept the other children.  At night Hazel went up after Johnnie and Jimmie after Oliver.  After supper we all went out to Hudson Falls to the circus."

            Wed. Aug. 11: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. It looked kind of rainy so Johnnie did not go back to work. Hazel drove Mrs. Williams folks out to Glens Falls this forenoon. At noon she went to Greenwich to take Mrs. Ellis to see the Doctor. Johnnie borrowed a shovel plow and worked with the potatoes. At night after Jimmie got home from work we all except Hazel and Marjory went to Glens Falls to get Johnnie's suit. After we got home the young folks went up to the Methodist church to a social."

            Thur. Aug. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Marion and the children came up and did her washing. In the afternoon Mother, Marion, Hazel and I went to Hudson Falls. The other folks stayed at home. Hazel had 23 teeth pulled and she is not feeling very well. Marion stayed for supper and Mary E  went home with her. In the morning Jimmie took John C. up to work."

            Fri. Aug. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks did up the work. Hazel is not feeling very well. In the afternoon Marion, Mary, Floss and Helen came up and they went to the funeral of Sibyl Cornell and Marjory went with them.  Harry was along and stopped in the afternoon for a while. At night Marjory and Jimmie went down to the lake for a while."

            Sat. Aug. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks did up the work. Hazel is not feeling so well today.  Marion and Helen was going along so they stopped. In afternoon Aunt Jennie came out from Hudson Falls. In the afternoon Marjory and Oliver took King and went after Johnnie. At night we were going over after Mary W. but Marion and the children came up so we didn't go."

            Sun. Aug. 15: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church except Marjory and Hazel. Hazel is feeling pretty good today. In the afternoon we all went over to West Hebron and Mary W. came home with us. We stopped at the Billiken Pavilion to hear the church service. We did not get home until quite late."

            Mon. Aug. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks were going to wash but it rained and they didn't. In the afternoon Marion and the kids came up. They stayed for supper. Hazel is feeling pretty good."

            Tues. Aug. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks did the washing.  Hazel is not feeling very good today. At night all of us except Hazel, Marjory, Mary E. went to take Mary W and Jennie over to West Hebron and they both stayed.  We came back around by Gage's and stopped for a while."

            Wed. Aug. 18: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. In the forenoon Garry MacEachron, Lawrence, Johnnie went up to the farm where they were going to Appraise the cows.  Garry told then not to appraise so they didn't.  At night we went down to see Garry and also to see Fred Miller to see if he would go to Albany and he said he would. Hazel is feeling some better."

            Thur. Aug. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. In the forenoon Hazel and Johnnie went to take Fred Miller out to Fort Edward and in the afternoon about four o'clock she went back out after him."

            Fri. Aug. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work on the road.   Hazel, Mother and I went to Fort Edward. In the afternoon Rob Bain came to do the thrashing. When we went to Fort Edward we went up and told Jimmie to come home at noon. They did the thrashing and they had about 17 bushel.  In the afternoon Willard & Mary & Marlyn Durkee and Aunt Jen came and stayed all afternoon. Marion and the children came up at night we all down to the Lake to see Garry. Hazel is feeling pretty good."

            Sat. Aug. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not go to work in the forenoon but Johnnie went with him in the afternoon.  Mother, Jimmie, Garry, Fred Miller and I all went up to the farm. The served a paper on him that he had to get off within thirty days. We got back about ten o'clock. In the afternoon we all went to Glens Falls except Johnnie and Jimmie. After supper Jimmie took Johnnie down to Marion's and he stayed all night."

            Sun. Aug. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church in the forenoon. Johnnie came back with Ed in time to go to church. In the afternoon we did not go away any place. At night the young folks all went to C. E."

            Mon. Aug. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. Hazel, Mother, and I and Lawrence all went to Hudson Falls and Hazel went to see the Dentist. The girls did the washing while we were gone. Johnnie went with Ed to get a load of cattle to take out to the Fair. He got back just about night."

            Tues. Aug. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie did not go to work on the road. The appraiser came to appraise the cows so Jimmie and Lawrence went up to the farm. They were supposed to go Friday forenoon. In the afternoon Jimmie and Lawrence went out to the Fair. In the afternoon Marion and the children Mary and Floss came up for a while."

            Wed. Aug. 25: "In the morning we got up quite early. We got things ready and went to Hudson Falls because Hazel had to go to see the Dentist and we came back and stopped to the Fair grounds. We had our supper and stayed for night. Lawrence did our chores. It rained at night."

            Thur. Aug. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. About noon we started for the fair. We came home and did chores then went back again."

            Fri. Aug. 27: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Before we had breakfast John Henry came along and stopped for a while. In the forenoon Mary W. came over with Ross Williamson and stayed. She was going back with him but we went to the Fair about four o'clock and she went with us. Jimmie drove Garry's car home and Mother came home with him."

            Sat. Aug. 28: "In the morning we got up quite early. We got things ready and we went to the MacIntyre picnic which was held at Hedges Lake. We got home about five o'clock.  At night Jimmie went away."

            Sun. Aug. 29: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. In the afternoon we went down to Marion's and Lawrence went with us. At night the young folks went to C. E. Helen came home from Marion's with us."

            Mon. Aug. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women folks did the washing. Jimmie went to work on the road. In the afternoon Hazel had to go to the Dentist's and I went up to Glens Falls to see my Doctor. Hazel got her teeth. Before we went they took Helen home."

            Tues. Aug. 31: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The women folks canned 6 quarts and 1 pint of corn. In the afternoon George and Margaret McEachron came along and stopped for a while. In the forenoon the boys got a load of slabs and split them up."

            Wed. Sept. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The boys and girls cleaned up the cellar. The girls pick a lot of string beans and cut them up and after dinner they did up 14 pints of them. Marion and the children came up. They give her quite a number of beans.  She went home with Garry when he come from working on the road. We all went for a ride. Johnnie and Jimmie went to prayer Meeting. Johnnie and Oliver got 2 more loads of slabs today."

            Thur. Sept. 2: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work in the road. The boys are splitting up the slabs. In the afternoon Thomas Luke and Wife and John McDermont came and made a little visit. Hazel took Lyzie out to Glens Falls with there car. Lawrence took the wagon to draw chairs and the boys helped him. At night when Hazel got home she was going to turn around and when she got about half way across the road a car came up and it went over the bank but no body got hurt nor the car was not damaged much. After supper Harper Richards came down to look at the Radio but could not find the trouble."

            Fri. Sept. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. The girls did up the house work. In the forenoon Hazel, Lawrence and I went over after John McDermont and his wife to come over to the McWhorter picnic which was held at McWhorter's. In the afternoon Hazel, Marjory, Mary E. and Florence all went up to Hazel's school house. At night Hazel and Jimmie went away with some of the folks up the street and Johnnie drove the car and we went down to see Fred Miller."

            Sat. Sept. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work on the road. In the forenoon Mr Stupplebeen came made an application out for Johnnie's Life Insurance The boys took me up to the barber shop to get a shave. Before Jimmie went to work on the road he and Lawrence, Johnnie, and Oliver all went up to Gage's to see about the stable but it had not been cleaned very well. Dr. Stillman came down and examined Johnnie. In the afternoon we all went to Glens Falls. We brought Johnnie's bicycle home with  us. When we got home Jimmie had the chores all done."

            Sun. Sept. 5: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. It rained in the afternoon so we stayed at home.  At night John Henry and Eva came back from Troy and stopped and Hazel went home with them. Jimmie, Johnnie, Marjory, Mary E all went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Sept. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie did not go to work on the road because it looked like rain. The women folks did the washing but did not hang the dark colored ones out doors. but we did the white ones. At night Hazel came home when John Henry and Eva brought her home. They stayed for a little while then went back."

            Tues. Sept. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. School started today. The children all went to school except Jimmie. He went to work on the road.  Hazel took the car and went up to her school to teach. Jimmie went to work on the road. The children did not have any school in the afternoon up here. At night after super we went up to Joe McDougall's to an ice cream social."

            Wed. Sept. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. When Jimmie got back from work he said that they did not want him to work on the road anymore. When we got home from school Marion & the children & Floss was up her. They went up to North Argyle store to do some trading."

            Thur. Sept. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not go to work on the road. The children all went to school.  Jimmie did not do much of anything today."

            Fri. Sept. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. In the afternoon Marion & the children came up and stayed for supper Harper Richards came down and took our radio up to his house to see what was the matter with it. The boys went up to horn John Depew."

            Sat. Sept. 11: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Ed, Marion, Lawrence & Marjory all started for the Rutland Fair. They did not get back until about twelve o'clock that night. In the forenoon we went out to see my Doctor then we went up to Comstocks to see a ball game but did not see any. We did not get back until quite late. Then they did our chores and also did Lawrence's."

            Sun. Sept. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church. In the afternoon Jimmie went with Lawrence up to Dennis' and Mary E. went with Mildred & John Pykett down to Buttermilk Falls. Johnnie went on his bicycle with Ellis' boys down to South Argyle. When they came back we went up to the Hook for a ride. Just as we got back Eva & John Henry came along and they stayed for supper. The young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Sept. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. The girls finished up washing before they went to school. At night the girls did most of ironing. At night after supper Hazel & Marjory went up to Lawrence Dennis' to a Missionary Meeting."

            Tues. Sept. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. In the morning the girls finished up the ironing. Jimmie did not work today."

            Wed. Sept. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. In the afternoon Jimmie went down to Will Stevenson's to help cut corn. In the afternoon Lawrence was down to Marion's and he brought Helen up and then after supper we all went except Hazel, Marjory, Jimmie,  Lawrence went down to take Helen home."

            Thur. Sept. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went down to help fill silo. Hazel took the car up to the Garage to get it fixed. Johnnie took Hazel up to school. After school Florence & Marjory took the horse up after Hazel but they meet her up by Pearly McDougall's turn. "

            Fri. Sept. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. Jimmie up to George McGowan's and it looked kind of rainy so he came back and did not work in the forenoon but did in the afternoon. At night after supper Johnnie & Jimmie went up to see Jim Lant. After they got back the young folks all went to a social up at the church.
            Sat. Sept. 18: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work for George McGowan. The women folks did up the work. In the afternoon Hazel, Marjory and I went to Glens Falls. We got home about five o'clock. Eva told us that they were going to Florida this winter. At night Jimmie went down to Will Steavenson's after his corn knife and got his pay and went up street and got his pay from George McGowan."

            Sun. Sept. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church. In the afternoon we went up around by Hazel's school house. Then we went over to Barkley's then came back around by Gage's then we went up to John Weir's for a while.  When we came back Harry's folks were up home and we stopped for a while.  Then we came home. Hazel, Florence, Jimmie, Mother and I went down to Miller's then down to Marions. The rest went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Sept. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early, Jimmie went up to Jim Lant's to help fill silo. The women folks did a washing and Marion and the children came up and did her washing.  Hazel took the car and went to school.  At night after school the girls did most of the ironing.  Marion went home before supper time. At night after supper Mr. Breen & Mr. Kelleher came along and stoped to see about Jimmie's Life Insurance."

            Tues. Sept. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went up to Jim Lant's to take Johnnie up to work. He also took Hazel up. Then when he got he took Mother and I out to Fort Edward to see Mr. Bascom.  We got home about ten o'clock and Jimmie went up to Lant's to work and Johnnie came home and went to school in the afternoon. Marion and the children all except Ruth came up. They took Mother and I out to Fort Edward to Mr. Bascom again. At night after school we went down to get Garry to go up and serve some more papers on him Gage.  At night Marion & Ed, Helen & Ruth came up and Ruth & Helen stayed here and they went out to John Henry's. They got back about 11:30 and they took Ruth. Helen stayed all night."

            Wed. Sept. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went up to Jim Lant's to help fill silo. Hazel rode up to school with Jimmie. The rest of the children all went to school. Helen was up and she went to school with the girls. At night before school was out marion came up after Helen."

            Thur. Sept. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went up to work at Walt Lan'ts. The children all went to school. When Johnnie came home from school King was out so Johnnie brought him home."

            Fri. Sept. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early.  It was rainy but Jimmie went up to Walt Lant's in the morning and at noon but did not work either time."

            Sat. Sept. 25: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women folks did up the work. In the afternoon mother, Hazel & I went to Glens Falls. Jimmie went to work to Walt Lant's. In the afternoon we had a very hard thunder shower. Johnnie went to work to Howard Mahaffy's. Jimmie came home and did some of the chores then went up after Johnnie.  Hazel & Marjory went up street and stopped at Todd's and Dorothy & Lois came down with us and we had to go back with them part way."

            Sun. Sept. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church. In the afternoon we went over to Mary W.'s for a while.  At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Sept. 27: "In the  morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work to Roy Nichol's. He did not get home very early, The children all went to school. The women folks did the washing."

            Tues. Sept. 28: "In the morning we got up quite early. It was rainy so Jimmie did not work today. The children all went to school."

            Wed. Sept. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work to Roy Nichols'. The children all went to school The boys did up the chores."

            Thur. Sept. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work to John W. To day is Hazel's birthday. At night Eds' folks come up and Lawrence & John H's folks came out to stay for the first and they were  all here for supper. Ed's folks stayed until quite late. All the boys went to the farm for a few minutes."

            Fri. Oct. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work to John Weir's. John H. went to work to Glens Falls. In the forenoon Garry and Archie Alexander went up to put Gage off but they didn't. In the afternoon Marion came up and took the folks out to Fort Edward to see Bascom.  He said to let him stay two weeks more then he would have to go off. At night the young folks all went to the Grange Hall to a Athletic dance. We signed papers with Gage to go and move peacebly within 2 weeks.

            Sat. Oct. 2: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not go to work.  We had an early dinner and Jimmie and Lawrence & Garry went up to Gage's to take an inventory but Gage was not there. In the morning John H. went to glens Falls to work. After Jimmie got back they went up to Fred Spear's auction. At night we all went up to the Grange Hall corner to the Auto Club meeting."

            Sun. Oct. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. Eva & Jack & Hazel went to church at Glens Falls. Helen was up and we all went to church. Eva & Jack went down to Marions for dinner and Helen went home with them. In the afternoon Harry's folks came over and stayed for supper. The young folks went to C. E. "

            Mon. Oct. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie, Garry, Lawrence went up to Gage's to take an inventory of the tools. In the afternoon Jimmie went to Will Mahaffy's to work. It was a good day."

            Tues. Oct. 5: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work for Will Mahaffy. It was pretty warm to day. The girls finished up the ironing tonight."

            Wed. Oct. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not go to work.  At noon Eva & Jack came along and stopped for a few minutes.  In the afternoon Jimmie took Mother & I out to Glens Falls. I had my treatment and then we watched the ball game out there. Jimmie took Hazel up to school in the morning. Johnnie took the horse and went after Hazel. The other girls went to practice basket ball. After supper Eva & Jack came over for a while. They stayed at McWhorter's all night. It rained hard toward night."

            Thur. Oct. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work to Will Mahaffy's. I was pretty cold tonight. They got in all of the cucumbers and tomatos. Mother canned 15 pts of corn today. Marion came up with Mary and she stayed a while. Then Eva and Jack came over a while before they left."

            Fri. Oct. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work for Willie Mahaffy. After school the girls went up to Collin's to get a present for the shower. After supper about bed time my rupture came out and had to have the Doctor come down."

            Sat. Oct. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie did not work today. In the forenoon Jimmie had the tooth ache so he & Mother went out to Fort Edward to get them pulled. In the afternoon Harry & Nettie brought Harold & Stanley. Earl came before on his bicycle. Marion brought the children up and her and Marjory & Hazel went up to Nellie Dennis' to a shower for Elsie Weir. Mary E, Florence, Oliver and Earl all went up to a Junior meeting in the afternoon . At night Mary E. went up and stayed with Lois Todd all night."

            Sun. Oct. 10: "First frost  not very hard   In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church except Jimmie. His mouth is pretty sore yet. In the afternoon we all went over to West Hebron all but Jimmie. We went over to say good-bye Eva & Jack. Mary W. came home with us. The young folks went to C. E. While they were gone Harry & Nettie came to get the boys. Earl stayed and went on his bicycle the next morning."

            Mon. Oct. 11: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie went to work for Howard Mahaffy. The women folks did a washing and Marion brought hers up and did it up here. She went home a while before school was out."

            Tues. Oct. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to Howard Mahaffy's helping fill silo Didn't any of us go to school. The girls did the ironing in the forenoon and Hazel washed the war.  Mother made 8 gallon of of sweet cucumber pickles. Johnnie helped Lawrence kill two pigs. In the afternoon he helped Jud Williams thrash his buckwheat. This morning Eva and Jack started for Florida."

            Wed. Oct. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Jimmie took the horse and went to Howard Mahaffy's to help fill silo. Toward night it rained awful hard. At night after supper we went up to the Barkly and Taylor hall to an entertainment."

            Thur. Oct. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not go to work. Jimmie cut some of our corn in the forenoon. In the afternoon he did not do much of anything. At night we had supper and all of us except Johnnie and Oliver went over to take Mary W. home and went around by Gage's but they have not gone yet.  The goys went up to basket Ball practice."

            Fri. Oct. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie did not work today. At night we went down to Greenwich to see Milton Gillis but he was not home. When we were coming home we saw the northern lights  they were very pretty."

            Sat. Oct. 16: "In the morning we got up early. In the forenoon the folks went up home. They came back and in the afternoon we all went up and looked around. At night we all went down to see Milton Gillis' at Greenwich. We got home about nine o'clock."

            Sun. Oct. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. We all went to church. In the afternoon the boys went up home and brought Ned home with them. At night the young folks went to C. E. the rest of us went down to George Bussing's and then up to Marion's for a little while."

            Mon. Oct. 18: (Georgiana's handwriting)   "In the morning we got up early and the women Folks washed and Marion brought her washing up and done it here and Johnnie took Marions car up to Mr Collins to get a glass in the side and Marion took her clothes home today then Jimmie took Ned & King and Lawrences mowing machine up to the Farm to cut hay and Lawrence went up in his car. Before noon Hazel, Mother & I went up and saw Gage and had a talk with him and got back about half past 12. and then we went to Glens Falls to My Doctor and I had a treatment and got home about dark or a little after. the boys went up to Gages to see if he took our wagons."

            Tues. Oct. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school except Hazel & Jimmie.  Hazel is having a vacation this week and Jimmie & Lawrence went up to the Farm to cut wood and they got home a little before noon and in the afternoon Mother, Hazel, Lawrence & I went up to the Farm in our car and Jimmie took Ned & King and the Double Wagon to get a load of wood. We moved things around some & locked the Horse Barn and wagon house & Corn house and then we came down and the boys loaded a load of wood and then we came on home and Jimmie brought the wood.  Hazel went to the Barber shop at night and Busy went to Todds to study."

            Wed. Oct. 20: "In the morning we got up about 6 o'clock. Jimmie was going down to get Buster to cut hay up on the Farm but it was cloudy and looked like rain so he did not go. The boys went to digging potatoes and got most of them dug before school time. and Lawrence helped Jimmie finish them and they drew them in 11 bu in all and then they brought in a load of pumpkins and drew a load of Buckwheat straw for Lawrence. We went up to the bank and renewed a note we had there and I went the barber shop & Helen did to she stayed here all day. Marion came up before school was out after her. Mother went to see Marvin Myers about his place. The boys & girls practiced Basket Ball."

            Thur. Oct. 21: (Marjory's handwriting)   "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning There was not any school. Jimmie took Hazel & Emily S. out to Fort Edward and they went to Albany. The women folks cleaned the sitting room. About three o'clock Mother, Jimmie, I went over to West Hebron. Marjory & Florence went up to the Barber shop.  At night we went up to the church to the chicken pie supper and stayed for the fair."

            Fri. Oct. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. Johnnie went up to Warren Dennis to work. In the afternoon Jimmie & Oliver went to John W. In the forenoon the women folks laid some of the lineolum and finished in the afternoon. At night we went up to the church to the bazaar. Hazel & Emily came back that night from Albany."

            Sat. Oct. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Jimmie & Oliver went up to John Weir's to work .In the afternoon Jimmie went up to help Clair & Johnnie went up to Warren Dennis. Hazel, Mother and I went over to West Hebron & took Mary W. to Salem. In the afternoon they went to Glens Falls & Florence went with them. After supper Marion, Edward, Ruth came up and stayed until Ed got back from the pictures. Edward stayed all night. In the forenoon Will Clow & Lawrence painted the wood work in the sitting room. Mr. Collins brought a new rug down and we set up the sitting room stove."

            Sun. Oct. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early.  We were not planning on going to church but it rained so the most of us went to church. Edward stayed all night and he went home with Ed when he came back from taking the milk.  At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Oct. 25: "In the morning we got up quite early.  After supper Mother, Hazel, Johnnie and I went up to the town Hall to a Republican Rally. Lawrence finished painting the woodwork in the forenoon. Mother and Hazel went up to Burch's to see about making out the papers for the Myer's place."

            Tues. Oct. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Jimmie & Lawrence went up home and got some hay. After school the girls practiced Basket Ball & the boys after supper. The women folks did the washing."

            Wed. Oct. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Jimmie took the team and he & Lawrence went up home to cut some hay. They came back for dinner. At night they brought down a load of hay. After supper we went up to the Grange hall to an intertainment given by the North Argyle Christian Endeavor. It was not very good."

            Thur. Oct 28: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie & Lawrence about the middle of the forenoon went up home and brought down a load of hay. In the afternoon Jimmie took Mother and I over to West Hebron to help Mary W. When we came back we came around by Hazel's school and helped her put up her decorations. Johnnie & Florence after school went up after Hazel but we were up there so he came back home. When he came he came back he tied the horse up to a tree by the Grange Hall. He got away someway and went way down the road. Everything was alright except a line was broke and the lap robe was lost but got it again."

            Fri. Oct. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went to work up to John Weir's. At noon Marion came she had been out to Glens Falls. Helen was at school with Mary and she came down here for dinner. Marion & Helen went home and got Floss and the other kids and came up and took Mother , Florence & I up to Hazel's school. She had a Halloween program. We waited and came back with Hazel. Marion brought Floss & Ed & Ruth down here and she went back up to the Barber shop. Helen stayed here for supper. After supper we all went up to the Grange Hall to the Senior Fair and the Dance."

            Sat. Oct. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie and Oliver took Johnnie up to David Foster's to work .Hazel, Mother and I went out to see my Doctor early this morning. The boys when they got back drawed the pumpkins over in the cellar and the rest out of the field. The Girls did up the house work. In the afternoon Mother & Hazel went up to the schoolhouse because Florence has a Halloween program. It is rainy this afternoon.  Jimmie went up to David Foster's after Johnny. The children went up street and Lill Y. came down with them and in a little while Ed came down. Oliver went down with Lawrence to see about his young cattle."

            Sun Oct. 31: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. Rev. Paul Stewart from York, Penn. preached. He was a good preacher. It rained about all day. In the afternoon we went down to Marion's a while. The young folks all went to C. E. at night."

            Mon. Nov. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women folks did a washing. Jimmie worked around home. It was a good drying day. At night the girls did some of the ironing."

            Tues. Nov. 2: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the forenoon we went up to vote. About half past ten Marjory, Hazel & Lawrence took the Nash and went over to help Mary W get things picked up ready to move.   Jimmy took car and went too. It rained some.  About noon Ed & Harry took their trucks and brought back a load of moving for Mary W. They got the most of the moving. They got it all unloaded before dark. Grandma & Jenn came down her and stay her all night. At night we all went up to the Medothist Church to chicken pie supper."

            Wed. Nov. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. Jimmie took Mary W & Jen up to her house and settled quite abite. They stayed up their all night. In the afternoon  Ed, Jimmie and Mary went over to West Hebron after a load of wood. They got all the rest of the moving."

            Thur. Nov. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early. Father is sick. I look sick about two o'clock Jimmie went up to help Mary settle. Toward night I felt better. In the forenoon I had the doctor. Jennie came down a while at night. Will Clow was at Grandma to paper and paint the kitchen."       

            Fri. Nov. 5: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. After school we all went up to Mary's and put up her clothes line and Ed put up her radio. At night the young folks took Jennie out to Glens Falls. Will Clow was at Grandma to paper & paint."

            Sat. Nov. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the forenoon Mother, Hazel & I went to Glens Falls. Oliver & Johnnie went up to help Mrs. Hall. Jimmie went up to help at Grandma's In the afternoon we all went to church except Jimmie. At night Marion brought the kids up here and they stayed all night. She went to Glens Falls to do some trading."

            Sun.  Nov. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. After breakfast Marion came up with the car to take the children home. Ed came back form taking the milk and went home with her. We all went to church. In the afternoon we & Mary W. went to Schylville & Saratoga for a ride. At night all the young folks went to C. E."

            Mon. Nov. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. The folks did a washing. It was a good drying day. At night after school the boys raked up the leaves on the lawn and burned them. Jimmie went down after Marion & the children. They stayed all night."

            Tues. Nov. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The children all went to school. Marion was going to wash but it rained so she did not. In the afternoon Jimmie took Mother & I and Mrs. McWhorter & Cora McLenithan to Dewey Cornell's funeral. They got stuck up by the cemetry and Jimmie came down after the team. Jimmie went up to John Weir's to help chores both night & morning."

            Wed. Nov. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Marion did a washing. The wind blew hard and tore some of the clothes.  Before school was out Jimmie took Marion & the kids down to Lill's . The girls went to practice basket. Jimmie & Johnnie took the ford up and met Hazel & Jimmie took the Nash & Hazel and Johnnie brought the Ford home. It is pretty cold."

            Thur. Nov. 11: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went up to Weir's to do chores. The rest of the children all went to school. After school Jimmie & Johnnie took the ford up to meet Hazel. Then Jimmie took the Nash up and done the chores at John Weir's. Hazel & Johnnie brought the ford home. Mr Green and another man came out and hitched us up with the Adirondack lights."

            Fri. Nov. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went up to Weir's to do chores.
            Sat. Nov. 13: "In the morning we got up early in the morning. The girls did up the house work in the forenoon."

            Sun. Nov. 14: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. It was rainy. We did not go away in the afternoon."

            Mon. Nov. 15: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel drove the car to school today. The roads are not very good. It is raining and the wind is blowing hard."

            Tues. Nov. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. Jimmie went up to John Weir's to do chores. In the  morning Johnnie and Mother took Hazel up to school. In the afternoon Jimmie & Lawrence went up to the farm when they came back they brought Hazel home from school. It is pretty rainy and the wind is blowing pretty hard. At night were planning on going over to West Hebron to the Minister's to his anniversary. But is was so stormy that we did not go."

            Wed. Nov. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. At night after school the girls went to practice Basket Ball. After supper the boys went to practice. The young folks went to a social. Mother, Florence, and I went up to Grandma's and stayed until the boys came back from practicing basket ball."

            Thur. Nov. 18: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. At night Jimmie took Mother & I up street we went to see Will Clow and he said he could come down the next day."

            Fri. Nov. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. Marjory stayed to home from school to get things cleaned up so Will Clow could paint. We also cleaned the pantry. At night the young folks went to South Argyle to a Rally."

            Sat. Nov. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. In the morning Will Clow came down to paper. It took him all day. At noon Floyd & Harold Inman came down and sawed wood. The boys split up the most of it. In the afternoon the girls put the things back in the pantry and straightened up the Sitting-Room. At night we all went up to the Grange hall to Automobile club meeting."

            Sun. Nov. 21: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Before church time Jimmie & Mother went to Grandma's. They did not get back until about noon. Hazel & Marjory are the only ones who went to church. In the afternoon Grandma came down. Grandma and all of us except Marjory, Johnnie & Jimmie went down to Marion's for a while. At night the young folks all went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Nov. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel drove the Nash too school. The rest of the children all went too."

            Tues. Nov. 23: "In the morning we got up quite early.  Hazel took the Nash too school. The rest of the children all went to school. It was not a very nice day."

            Wed. Nov. 24: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel took the Nash to school. The rest all went to school. At night after school Marjory went to practice but Busy did not. After supper the boys went to practice Basket ball."

            Thur. Nov. 25: " (Thanksgiving)    In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the house work.  Then Hazel went up after Grandma. About noon Harry's folks came. About five o'clock Grandma went home. Harry's folks stayed until after nine o'clock. It was a good day but it was cold."

            Fri. Nov. 26: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel had school. Florence went up with her. Mildred & Lois also went up with her. It is not a very nice day. The girls did quite a washing. In the afternoon Jimmie took Mother and I up to Grandma's. John McMurray came to put on her doors today. Hazel, Johnnie, Jimmie went up to North Argyle to a social."

            Sat. Nov. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the house work. Hazel ironed some. Jimmie went to Grandma's and put up her mail box. In the forenoon Bernice came over and wanted to know if she could go to Glens Falls so she went too.  We all went except Jimmie, Oliver and Marjory. Marjory stayed up to Grandma's. John McMurry was up to Grandma's fixing the cupboard doors. At night all except Mother and I went up to the hall to a basket ball game."

            Sun. Nov. 28: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church. Grandma did not come down. In the afternoon Grandma came down here and stayed all afternoon. Jimmie took her home. At night my rupture came down and we called for the Doctor but he was not home. Mother got it back herself. The Young folks all went to Christian Endeavor except Jimmie, Oliver, Florence."

            Mon. Nov. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The rest all went to school.  After school the girls went up to practice Basket ball & the boys after supper. In the morning Jimmie took the Nash and took H. Ellis and went down to Saratoga to work for Hopkins. Johnnie took Hazel up to school with King."

            Tues. Nov. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel took the Nash to school. The rest of the kids all went to school."

            Wed. Dec. 1: "In the morning we got up quite early. Hazel drove a horse to school. She was pretty cold when she got home. The rest of the kids went to school.  After Marjory got home from school she washed out a few clothes."

            Thru. Dec. 2: "In the morning we got up quite. The children all went to school. Hazel drove a horse to school.  She was pretty cold when she got home. Jimmie and Lawrence went up home to cut some wood. At noon Jimmie took the car up to the Garage and got some alcohol in the radiator."

            Fri. Dec. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. In the after-noon Jimmie took Mother and I out to Fort Edward to see Mr. Bascom.  Hazel drove a horse to school.  At night we all went up to the hall to a Christian Endeavor play. It was a good play."

            Sat. Dec. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early. The girls did up the house work.  The boys did a churning in the forenoon. They had to churn about all forenoon. In the afternoon Mother, Hazel, Johnnie, Oliver, and I went to Glens Falls. Jimmie took King and the carriage and went up home to get the yellow wagon. At night we all went up to the hall to a ball game.  They had two games the high school boys & girls. They both won."

            Sun. Dec. 5: "In the morning we did not get up very early. It is pretty cold.  Mother and I did not go to church but the rest did. When we came home to church it was snowing hard and it snowed all afternoon.  While the rest of us at church Ross Williamson came along and stopped and told the folks that Lizzy Williamson was dead and also that Mr. Craig was dead. Toward night Mother, Hazel, Florence, James and I all went to see Grandma for a while. At night the young folks went to Christian Endeavor."

            Mon. Dec. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early.  In the morning Jimmie took Hazel up to school in his car. She is going to stay at Dennis' this week. There is about twelve inches of snow and it is still snowing. Before night it stopped snowing.  At night Marjory went up to Mr. Wallace's to a missionary meeting. Hazel was down too."
            Tues. Dec. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. Jimmie chored around all day."

            Wed. Dec. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. At night after school Marjory took Helen & Florence up to the barber shop to get their hair cut.  We all went up to the Grange Hall and had our supper. Then stayed for the entertainment. It was pretty good."

            Thur. Dec. 9: "In the morning we got up quite early. Mother telephoned down and told Marion to send up her washing machine with Ed. Mrs. Bussing came up with Ed and Jimmie took her up home. Before he went he took the Nash up to the garage and helped grind the Valves. The girls stayed home from school and did a big washing. Busy went in the afternoon. In the afternoon Harry Potter brought the hog. It weighed 328 lbs. We all went up to the Grange Fair to see the play. It was very good."

            Fri. Dec. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. When the children got home from school we were up to Grandma's. After supper Hazel, Nellie & Lawrence came down a while. After a while we all went up to the Dance and stayed for a while. Helen came down and stayed all night."

            Sat. Dec. 11: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Marion came along after Helen. Arthur Clark came down to fix the car. In the forenoon George MacEachron  came in to see me a while.  In the afternoon we all except Johnnie & Jimmie & Grandma went to Glens Falls. After supper we took Grandma home and got the box of oranges that Eva & Jack sent me."

            Sun. Dec. 12: "In the morning we got up quite early.  We all went to church.  In the afternoon Grandma & all of us went down to Marion's for a while."

            Mon. Dec. 13: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The children all went to school. Jimmie took Hazel up to school & busted his car. Then he & Lawrence took the back end of his car out."

            Tues. Dec. 14: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The children all went to school. Jimmie chored around all day. At night we all went up to the M. E. church to a play. After we got home my rupture came down and Jimmie went up and got the Doctor to come down."

            Wed. Dec. 15: "In The morning we got up quite early.  The women folks washed. Marjory & Busy did not go to school. In the afternoon Marjory went to school but Busy did not. They went to practice B. B.  After supper Marion, Helen, Ed came up. Ed helped Jimmie fix his car. The boys went to practice basket ball. Marjory & Busy went up to the church to practice songs. Johnnie stopped when he got back from ball. Grandma was down a while in the afternoon."

            Thur. Dec. 16: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school After noon Jimmie took King and the sleigh and took Marion's Washing machine home. After supper Ed & Marion brought the kids up and they stayed all night. Johnnie & Jimmie & Marjory went up to the church to practice songs."

            Fri. Dec. 17: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. In the afternoon Jimmie took the Nash and went down to Ed's to help saw wood. Helen & Ruth went down with him but Edward stayed. Then when he got through sawing wood he went up after Hazel. Hazel went up to Mr. Wallace's after supper. Ed came up and helped Jimmie fix his car."

            Sat. Dec. 18: "In the morning we did not get up very early. The women folks did up the house work. In the forenoon Jimmie took Edward down home. We all went to Glens Falls. At night we all went to the hall to a basket ball game. The girls played and got beat."

            Sun. Dec. 19: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all went to church but Mary W.  did not go. We did not go anywhere in the afternoon.  At night the young folks went to C. E. Helen stayed all day."

            Mon. Dec. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. Jimmie took Hazel up to school with the Nash. She had a lot of Xmas things. Ed stoped & took Helen home."

            Tues. Dec. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The children all went to school. After school Jimmie took Mother and I to Hudson Falls. In the forenoon the boys went up to the farm. Ed went with them. They each got a Xmas Tree. They did not get until quite early. At night the young folks went up to the church to practice songs. Then they went to South church to a Xmas tree."

            Wed. Dec. 22: "In the morning we got up quite early. The children all went to school. At night we all went to the Grange hall to the High school Xmas tree. Before supper we set up the  Xmas tree & decorated it. Hazel & Nellie came down. Hazel curled Nellie's hair. There was a dance after the Xmas. We stayed quite a while."

            Thur. Dec. 23: "In the morning we did not get up very early. The children all went to school in the forenoon but in the afternoon we all except Johnnie went to Hazel's Xmas tree. In the forenoon Helen came up and went with us. Also Mary W. went too. At night we all went up to church to Sabbath school Xmas tree. They had a very good program."

            Fri. Dec. 24: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We did not have school but Hazel did. In the afternoon Mary W. came down. The girls did the Saturday's work. Toward night Johnnie & Jimmie went up after Hazel. After we had supper we had the Doctor come to see me. I have been in bed all day. Marjory, Johnnie, Jimmie went to North Argyle to the school Xmas tree. Mother, Hazel, Marjory did not go to bed."

            Sat. Dec. 25: "In the morning the children got up quite early. Mother, Marjory, Hazel did not go to bed because I was sick. The kids took the presents off from the Xmas tree. We were going over to Harry's but I was sick so we didn't go. Mary W. came down for dinner. We all got a nice lot of presents. At night Hazel, Florence, Oliver took Busy down to Marion's to stay. Ed took a load to W. Hebron to play ball.  Jimmie & Johnnie went with him.  Both teams got beat. Hazel & Marjory to choir rehearsal. Harry came along and stopped a while.  Toward night Bernice & Margaret came over to practice songs."

            Sun. Dec. 26: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Hazel, Marjory & Johnnie went to church.  It was snowing and blowing. In the afternoon Hazel, Marjory, Jimmie went to Pearle McDougall's funeral. It was a very large funeral. When we got home Harry's folks were here. I am feeling better now. At night the young folks all went to C. E. Then they had a White Gift program and they stayed for that. In the afternoon Ed. Helen brought Busy home. They stayed a while."

            Mon. Dec. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early.  The girls did up the house work.  In the afternoon Ed brought up the kids & Marion.  They stayed until after 9 o'clock. Edward stayed all night."

            Tues. Dec. 28: "In the morning we did not get up very early. The girls did up the house work. It snowed about all day.  At night Hazel & Marjory went up to the church to a supper. Ed came along a& Johnnie went home with him because Edward was going home. In the forenoon a man came and fixed the washing machine."

            Wed. Dec. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. The women folks did a washing. In the afternoon Hazel & Marjory went up to the church to decorate the Xmas. At night the young folks went to a C. E. christmas tree. Jimmie 7 Lawrence went up home to get a load of hay for us."

            Thur. Dec. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. The boys went up to the pond but did not work. The girls did the ironing.  The folks made ice cream.  When Ed came back he stopped and Hazel & Florence went down with him and stayed all the rest of the day and all night.  Marion went to Leona Miller's to a party. At night Jimmie & Johnnie went to the barber shop & Jimmie got his hair cut. In the afternoon Jimmie went to Hudson Falls and got his license."

            Fri. Dec. 31: "In the morning we did not get up very.  In the morning Hazel & Florence came up with Ed.  The girls did up the house work. In the afternoon Hazel, Mother & I went to Glens Falls. Johnnie & Jimmie helped fill John Barkley's ice house. In the afternoon Mary E., Florence, Oliver and Marjory went up to the pond where they were cutting ice. Mary W. went with us to Glens Falls. At night the young folks went to the Grange Hall to a New Year's Eve Dance. Harry's folks came down here a while before they went to the Dance. The boys stopped up to Mary W's."
