Wed. Jan. 1: (Georgiana's handwriting) "We got up quite early and the boys did the chores for they expected John Liddle up to help thresh the rest of the oats. Fil came up but Edna drove up and said that John was not able to come so the boys had to go down there after the belt before they could thresh but Charles Harke came over and they got through about four oclock. We made Ice Cream in the afternoon. Laurence came up and got Marjory and they went to Laurence Dennis' for supper. The boys put the Engine together and got it going so we had good lights.

Thurs. Jan. 2: "after the boys got the chores done & breakfast over Jimmie went down to Claytons Barkleys to work. He hired out to him for a month. Fred Darfler came over in the afternoon and got the Threshing Machine and Johnnie & Oliver tried to drive Katie up to Ralph Clair's but could not manage her on the Ice so they fastened her to the car and she broke the rope she was fastened with so they let her go back to the barn. Johnnie & Oliver took a load of potatoes to Fort Edward and got feed. Johnnie & Oliver to a grist to Fort Edward. Florence went to school.

Fri. Jan. 3: "In the morning we didn't get up very early and the boys did the chores and cleaned up the oats on the barn Floor. They put them through the Fanning mill and in the afternoon when Fred Darfler came over after the Engine he drew them over to the Horse barn for them. We did our ordinary Fridays work. When we were having Breakfast John McKernan came down after Mary E. she is going up there to work a while. Rita has a little baby girl born last night. Susie Cary is there. Florence had school.

Sat. Jan. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early and Oliver went over to Fred Darflers to help thresh. we did the housework and Johnnie did the chores. we went out and helped move the wagon so Johnnie could empty the oats in the bin.

Sun. Jan. 5: "We did not get up very early and Jimmie came up but could not get up the hill so came around by the lake and McAuley place and it was to late to go to church so Jimmie took me up to McKernan's to se Rita and the baby and we got Mary E and while we were gone Hazel, George & Minnie came down and stayed until the Middle of the afternoon. at night we all went down to Argyle and the young folks went to C E and we took Mary E back to McKernan after Prayer Meeting.

Mon. Jan. 6: "In the morning we got up quite early. Johnnie & Oliver did the chores early so that Oliver could go down with Lawrence to go to school. We did the housework but did not wash, only some by hand and the sitting room Curtains and bedroom ones. Oliver came home with Lawrence at night. Miss Irwin came back tonight."

Tues. Jan. 7: "In the morning we got up early so the boys could get the chores done so Oliver could go down with Lawrence In the forenoon Marion telephoned up that Aunt Jen was up there and in the afternoon we all went down to see her and Oliver came with us to do chores We brought Marions washing home with us to do tomorrow.

Wed. Jan. 8: "We got up early and Oliver went down with Lawrence to go to school and we did Marions washing and some for Ourselves. we got done about quarter of Eleven. It rained so we did not hang out Marions clothes and hung ours on the porch. Oliver came home at night with Lawrence.

Thurs. Jan. 9: "In the morning we got up early and Oliver went down to school with Oliver and Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. In the afternoon we took Marions blankets & sheets & Spreads up in the chamber and hung them up. Laurence took a basket of small things down for Marion to dry. At night Laurence came up early and Oliver came with him. It rained today and made quite a crust."

Fri. Jan. 10: "In the morning we got up early and the boys had the chores done in time for Oliver to go with Laurence Johnnie did the chores and in afternoon Johnnie took a load of potatoes out to J J. Hayes & Thebo. Thebo found fault with the weight so Johnnie took them to Hudson Falls but could sell them & he came back to Fort Edward and sold them to Dick Savage. When he came home he brought Helen, Eddie & Ruth with him and we went down at night to take them home it was to late to go to Prayer meeting."

Sat. Jan. 11: "In the morning we got up quite early and the boys did the chores and cleaned out the Ice House and it is a fine day but quite cool. We had a lot of housework & baking to do and in the afternoon Mrs. Gilchrist came down. The boys hurried to get the Ice House cleaned out so they could ride down hill. Jimmie came up to stay all night and he & Johnnie went away."

Sun. Jan. 12: "We didn't get up very early and before the boys got the chores done Jimmie Marjory & Mary & Florence went to church. They didn't stay for Sabbath school. Mary came down in the morning with the milk men. When they came home they brought Dorothy home with them. At night Jimmie, Johnnie, Marjory & Mary went to Prayer Meeting and took Dorothy home The boys took Mary back to McKernan's and Marjory came home with Laurence"

Mon. Jan. 13: "We got up quite early and the boys did the chores & Oliver rode to school with John McKernan. Florence went to school. Miss Irwin came back at night. In the forenoon Johnnie went with a grist and when he got to Argyle the blacksmith was not busy so Johnnie rode back with John McKernan and did some chores and then took King & Ned down to get them shod. He went on out with the grist and at night Oliver drove the team home."

Tues. Jan. 14: "We got up early and the boys did the chores and Oliver went to school with Lawrence. Johnnie did the chores in the forenoon and in the afternoon he went down to Argyle to do some work on the car and Oliver came home with him. Johnnie took the car and went away at night."

Wed. Jan. 15: "We got up early and Oliver went to school with Lawrence. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. We did the house work and Johnnie drew Ice and at night Oliver rode home with Mr. Gilchrist & Edwin."

Thurs. Jan. 16: "We got up early and the boys did the chores. Oliver went to school with Lawrence. We got the work done and did the washing and it was a pretty good wash day quite cold. Johnnie drew Ice 2 Loads The engine stopped and was broken but we did not know it until later. Oliver came home with Lawrence and they helped with the chores."

Fri. Jan. 17: "In the morning we got up early and Oliver didn't go to school. He stayed home to help with Ice and because he had a bad looking face, his upper lip covered with cold sores or ringworms (I dont know which it is) Wm Canovan telephoned out for a load of potatoes and Oliver & Johnnie sorted 10 bu for him and 3 bushel for J J Hayes. We and Johnnie took them out and Oliver stayed and did chores and Lawrence came up and took the team and got a load of Ice. Johnnie got a load of Ice in the afternoon. We went to the minstrel show at night. When Johnnie got ready to go with potatoes he couldnt start the car. Had to take the team The gas was frozen in the carborator."

Sat. Jan. 18: "We got up in good season and it snowed hard and the boys both went over to the lake and got a load of Ice. I have not been feeling very well all day. I fell on the Ice at Argyle last night and shook me up pretty good. but I worked & baked this forenoon but had to give up at dinner time. We had to begin using Kerosene lamps so the boys could have the light at the barn until we get the engine parts and get it fixed. Johnnie took King and went up after Mary at night before dark."

Sun. Jan. 19: "The folks did not get up very early and I was not able to get up until about noon. I have the grip I guess. I ached all over all night and was not able sleep. Jimmie came up, tried to get up the hill and couldnt get up so went around by the lake and had a hard time getting along and couldnt get any farther then Crosiers turn so walked up here and they took the team and towed him up home. He went back in the afternoon and got along alright. I felt some better before night."

Mon. Jan. 20: "In the morning the boys got up early and did up the chores and loaded up a load of potatoes (15 bu) for Dick Savage and Oliver went to school to try exams 2nd yr English and they came home and brought Clinton Ellis home with them to help them draw Ice. after dinner they went to the lake but didn't any Ice and at night Johnnie & Clinton went to Argyle Mary stayed at home and helped Marjory with the work and Johnnie took her up to McKernans at night. Miss Irwin came back tonight."

Tues. Jan. 21: "Finished drawing Ice." (Marjory's handwriting) "In the morning we did not get up very early. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Johnnie went over and got a load of ice in the forenoon but he had to help saw it out. They did the chores. In afternoon he went back and got another load. This finished filling the ice house. Oliver did not have to go to school. It was cloudy all day."

Wed. Jan. 22: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Florence and Miss Irwin went to school. Oliver did not have to go to school. The boys took King & Queen and went to the lower place and cut up some wood and brought it up with them."

Thurs. Jan. 23: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Florence's examination begin today. In the afternoon the boys sorted the potatoes."

Fri. Jan. 24: "In the morning we did not get up very early. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Oliver had to go to school so Johnnie took him down. He took out a load of potatoes to Hudson Falls. They did the chores then Johnnie took me over to Lant's. At night we went up and got Busy and we all went to Argyle. Busy went to Grange and the rest of us stayed to Marion's. It was a good day but kind of cold. Miss Irwin went home tonight."

Sat. Jan. 25: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We did up the house work. The boys did the chores. In the afternoon Johnnie took me over to Jim Lant's funeral. I stayed to the house while they went to the cemetery. The part for the engine but we did not have money to pay for it so he took it on with him. Johnnie went to Argyle at nite and he got it. He stayed to Marion's all nite. Jimmie came up at nite and went to Argyle then came back here and stayed all nite. It was a good day but quite cold."

Sun. Jan. 26: "10º below zero In the morning we did not get up very early. Busy came down to the corner with Ed Pollock then walked up here. It is awful cold. Jimmie & I went to church. Johnnie came home in the afternoon. Busy got her things ready and Jimmie, Johnnie, Marjory took her up before they went to C. E. They stopped to Marion's a while before time for C. E. When they got home Jimmie went on down to Clayton's."

Mon. Jan. 27: "In the morning we got up quite early . Oliver rode down with McKernon's. Florence went to school. Miss Irwin came back at nite. Johnnie did the chores in the forenoon. In the afternoon he & I went to Fort Edward with a grist & went on to Hudson Falls. We had a flat tire when we got back to Argyle. Oliver came home with us. Before we got home we had trouble. Down by the school house one tire & rim went inside of the wheel. We worked quite a while but could not get it back out. We walked up home. Johnnie hitched up King on cutter and went down After some feed. I lost my watch. After supper Johnnie, Marjory, Florence Oliver took a lantern and went down and looked for it. It had snowed some but they did not find it. Left car & most of grain there all nite. Johnnie took a part of the engine to Argyle and got a new bolt for it."

Tues. Jan. 28: "In the morning we got up early. The boys did the chores. Then they took the team and sleigh and went down and got the grain and drew the car up on it until they got to the bottom of hill. Then they let it down on the wheel and brought the sleigh up and took the team back down and with its power and the team we got it up to the barn. Then Oliver drove King to school. I went down where the car was and I found my watch. Johnnie & I fixed the engine today and it works alright. Then he did the chores. Brown came and said he would take a load of potatoes either Thursday or Friday. At nite Jimmie came up and the boys sorted fifty bushel of potatoes. It was a good day but quite cold. Florence went to school."

Wed. Jan. 29: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. We did the washing. In the morning I telephoned to Brown that the potatoes were ready and he could get a load that day but did not come. It was a pretty good drying day. At nite Jimmie came up and Johnnie & he went away."

Thurs. Jan. 30: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. In the morning Busy came home. Johnnie did chores. In the afternoon Brown came with the truck and got some potatoes. After Oliver got home from school Marjory took Miss Irwin down to Mahaffy's to get her check with King. It was quite windy and cold today. At nite the boys sorted potatoes. We did the ironing."

Fri. Jan. 31: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Busy went down to Argyle with Oliver and came back with him at night. Johnnie did the chores. At night Johnnie, Oliver and Marjory went to Argyle to a social at the church. John Liddle's folks came up that nite and stayed quite a while. It was quite cold all day."

Sat. Feb. 1: "In the morning we did not get up very early. The boys went down to the woods and cut wood in the forenoon. We did up the housework. I dyed some clothes. In the afternoon Brown came and got some more potatoes so the boys didn't go to the woods. At night Jimmie came up & Marjory & Johnnie went to Argyle with him. It was a good day but cold all day."

Sun. Feb. 2: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We all got ready and went to church. Jimmie came up in the morning and went with us. Marjory & baby stayed down until nite. Eddy & Dot came home with us from church. The rest of Ed's folks went up to Hazel's. Mary Keyworth came over in the afternoon. She went to C. E. with the young folks. Busy took her things and stayed at Ralph McGeoch's. She is going to work there for two weeks. It was a good day & not very cold today. We brought Teddy (Ed's dog) home with us to keep him. He got into Burgess' chickens down there."

Mon. Feb. 3: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King and Gert. McKernon rode with him. Florence & Mary went to school. We did up the house work. Johnnie did the chores. It was a good day but cold."

Tues. Feb. 4: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary went to school. Johnnie did the chores. We did up the house work. In the afternoon Brown came and got the last of our potatoes. In the afternoon Garry came up and got Teddy and took him and shot him. Garry stayed quite a while. At nite Jimmie came up and he & Johnnie went to Argyle. It was cloudy & snowy today."

Wed. Feb. 5: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence and Mary went to school. Johnnie did the chores. We did up the house work. It was cold."

Thurs. Feb. 6: "14º below zero In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary went to school. We did up the housework. Oliver tipped over this morning and King run away but didn't anybody get hurt it broke the cutter some. It was a good day. At nite Jimmie came along and Johnnie went down to Argyle with them. There was a play to Argyle 'Brown-Eyed-Betty'. Busy went but the boys didn't"

Fri. Feb. 7: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Johnnie did the chores. In the forenoon Ralph Yarter & Willard Todd came along with snow plow and they stopped and stayed quite a while. We did the house work and some sweeping. At nite we all got ready & went to Argyle. I kept the kids for Marion and Florence stayed and Marjory & Earl came home quite early. It was a good day. The rest went up to the hall to a card party & Dance the Mason's."

Sat. Feb. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early. We did up the house work. The boys just chored around all day. The Feed Truck came out and brought us some feed. We did not have dinner until about four o'clock. It was a good day but cold."

Sun. Feb. 9: "In the morning we did not get up very early. We did not any of us go to church. Jimmie came up in the morning. Then the boys did the chores. We got ready and went up to Hazel's. We found the roads not very bad. Coming home we had to put on chains on Gillis' hill. It was kind of late when we got home. Mary K. was here. Hazel's folks are all well. The boys did chores and then we had supper. Then Jimmie, Johnnie Mary went to C. E. The wind blew and it snowed before we went and all time we were here. Jimmie went to Barkley's at night. It was a good day except at nite."

Mon. Feb. 10: "In the morning we got up quite early. Florence & Teacher went to school. Oliver rode down with McKernon's. Johnnie did the chores in the forenoon. We did a big washing and it all got dry. The wind blew awful hard & blowed the snow quite a lot. In the afternoon Johnnie took the Nash and took out a grist. Oliver rode home with him. He got along alright. The sun shone about all day."

Tues. Feb. 11: (Georgiana's handwriting) "Oliver & Johnnie and the rest of us didn't get up very early so Oliver didn't have time to do near all of the chores. Oliver rode King to school. Florence & Mary K. went to school. We did the ironing. Johnnie finished the chores."

Wed. Feb. 12: " a Pleasant day The boys got up early and got the chores done so Oliver could ride down with Lawrence and there is not any school a Goose Island on account of Its being a Holiday Mary did not go home so stayed here and in the afternoon we were going to Argyle as soon as Johnnie could get the noon chores done but some boys came up from Argyle to play Basket Ball so we didn't go until about 8 o'clock and we had tire trouble coming home. about 6-15 when we got home after we got home a while I fell on the Kitchen and hurt my shoulder and knee."

Thurs. Feb. 13: "Rained all day. In the morning we got up quite early and Oliver drove King to school and Florence & Mary walked. I rained some before we got up and rained all day It got quite sloppy before night. Johnnie took the car and went after Mary & Florence. It is the first rain we have had for quite a while I guess since the Ice storm in Dec. Marjory did most of the work today as my shoulder is pretty lame, can't do much with it. Lawrence didn't come up."

Fri. Feb. 14: "7º above zero We got up quite early and the boys did the chores or part of them and Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary went in time to ride with the milkman. In the afternoon Johnnie took the Nash and took Florence down to Argyle to a party Marion is having for the children, a Valentine Party, it was at 3 oclock. The boys came home and did night chores and went back to Argyle at night. It was pleasant but quite cold. Rain turned to snow and the wind blew in the night and drifted some"

Sat. Feb. 15: (Marjory's handwriting) "In the morning we got up quite early. We did up the house work. I did baking. The boys went to the woods and chopped in the forenoon and afternoon. They did the chores after dinner. In the afternoon Laurence came up and got Marjory. At nite they went to a surprise party for Mr. Simpson at the manse. I kept Earl. The boys finished the chores. At night Jimmie came up and he and Johnnie went to Argyle. Marion & Ed went to Albany and Busy, Florence, Garry stayed with the kids. Busy & Florence came home with Marjory & Laurence. It was a good day and not very cold. Aunt Jennie came to Mother's tonite."

Sun. Feb. 16: "7º below zero In the morning we did not get up very early. Jimmie, Florence & I went to church in Jimmie's car. It was pretty windy and cold. Florence & I stayed at Mother's while Jimmie went to church. In the afternoon Mary K. came here to stay the rest of the week. The boys did chores. Then Jimmie, Marjory, Busy went to Argyle. Busy went to McGeoch's and the rest went to C. E. Laurence & Marjory rode up with Jimmie. Laurence's car froze up. They stopped to Mother's to see Aunt Jen. It was windy, cold & the sunshone."

Mon. Feb. 17: "15º below zero In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove to school & Laurence rode down with him. Florence & Mary K. went to school. We did not wash today. Johnnie did the chores. We did up the house work. It was a good day but cold."

Tues. Feb. 18: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary K. went to school. We did up the housework. Busy came home with Oliver after school from McGeoch's. Johnnie & I went down to Geo McKernon's on a little business. Johnnie had to get Ned out and took the car out to the top of the hill. When we got back Jonnie took the Nash over and helped draw Bennetts up with a load of logs. Mary came home form McGeoch's for good."

Wed. Feb. 19: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnnie drew up wood with Ned & King. Busy washed her hair and we washed out quite a number of clothes by hand. Johnnie did chores in afternoon. I washed the glasses in the car in the afternoon. It was a good day. At nite Jimmie came up and went to Argyle but Johnnie didn't go with him. Oliver & Laurence didn't get home in time to help do chores. Florence and Mary K. went to school."

Thurs. Feb. 20: "In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Florence & Mary K . went to school. Johnnie and I went to George McKernon's in forenoon. In the afternoon we went to Argyle. Before Johnnie took a load of wood down to Goose Island to have John Liddle saw but he didn't saw it that night. We got in the mud down by Liddle's and D. Scally had to draw us out. Oliver came home with us. On our way home the radiator leaked and made the car stop. Oliver went back to the garage and Clark came up and fixed it so we could get home. Johnnie & Busy went to Argyle at nite. Busy went to a shower at Mrs. Simpson's for Dorothy Knowlton. It was a good day and warm. The snow is mostly gone now. Hugh Weir came home with Johnnie."

Fri. Feb. 21: "In the morning we got up quite early. Laurence went up to Foster's after a calf then he came back and Oliver rode to school with him. Hugh & Johnnie took the team and went down to the corner and got the wood sawed and drew it up and put it in the wood shed. Then they did chores. And then cut wood in the afternoon. We did the house work. At night we all went down to Argyle. Jimmie came up and he went down too. Marjory & Earl went down with Jimmie. Marjory and Laurence went to a social down to the church. Earl & I stayed to Marion's and kept the kids. The rest all went to the card party and dance. It was a good day and not very cold."

Sat. Feb. 22: "We got up quite early in the morning. We did up the house work. The boys did the chores in the forenoon and put some sawdust on the ice house. After dinner the boys took the car and went down to the lower place and cut wood. They stayed until time to do chores. We mended some in the afternoon. We all stayed at home at night. It was a good day and not very cold. The roads are not very good."

Sun. Feb. 23: "We did not get up very early. Jimmie came up in the morning. We did not any of us go to church. Jimmie went down to John Liddle's and stayed a while. About noon Johnnie hitched King up on the road cart and got it in running order so Oliver could drive it to school. The boys did chores. Mary Keyworth came over in the afternoon. Jimmie went back to help do chores. It was cloudy all day and at nite rained."

Mon. Feb. 24: "45º above zero We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Oliver rode down with McKernon's. We did our washing and ironing. It was a good drying day. Johnnie did chores & put up a grist in the forenoon. In the afternoon he took out a grist and got some feed. Oliver rode home with him. It was a good day."

Tues. Feb. 25: "40º above zero We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Oliver drove King on the rode cart to school. Johnnie did the chores & put some sawdust on the ice house. We did up the house work. It was kind of rainy about all day. Got cooler in the afternoon and was quite cool at night."

Wed. Feb. 26: "14º above zero We got up quite early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Oliver drove King on the yellow wagon to school."

Thurs. Feb. 27: "14º above zero We got up quite early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Oliver drove King to school. We did up the housework. Earl is sick today. Mary E. & Johnnie sawed down some trees out along the road. Mary E. cut some bushes out along by the mail box. It was a good day but cold & windy."

Fri. Feb. 28: "16º above zero We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Oliver drove King to school. We did up the housework. Earl is feeling better today. Mary E. went out and cut some more bushes on the bank. Johnnie did chores and not much else because he had a head ache. At night Jimmie came home to stay. At night Johnnie and Jimmie went to Argyle to a supper & card party & dance. It was a good day but cold."

Sat. Mar. 1: "We got up quite early. We did up the house work. The boys went down to the McAuley place in Jim's car and fell a lot of trees. Then they came up and we had dinner and they took the team down and drew down trees and brought up a load of wood at night. It snowed some in afternoon and snowed hard in the evening."

Sun. Mar. 2: "We did not get up very early. The boys did chores and we did the house work. We did not go to church because it was snowy and windy & the roads were bad. In the afternoon Laurence came up and stayed until night then went back to Argyle. We all stayed at home all day & at night. At night the wind blew hard & snowed some."

Mon. Mar. 3: "zero We got up quite early. Oliver rode down with McKernon's and stayed down to Marion's. Mary K. came over this morning. Florence went to school. We did the washing & ironing. The boys took the team down to the lower place and drew up two loads of wood in forenoon and one load in afternoon. He drew them on sleighs. It was a good day but cold."

Tues. Mar. 4: "7º above zero We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. The boys drew wood on sleighs today. They drew three loads. They did chores. We did up the housework. In the afternoon I made new sleeves & collar & cuffs in a black satin dress of Mary's. Before noon Laurence came up and about three o'clock he & Marjory went to Argyle. They went to the church for supper to a Suprise birthday party for Mrs. Simpson. At night the boys went to Argyle. It was a good day but kind of cold. We got down the little crib and painted it. Oliver stayed at Marion's.

Wed. Mar. 5: " We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school." (Georgiana's handwriting) " 14º above zero The boys drew wood from the lower place. They got a load from under the woods and had quite getting it down. It pretty nearly run over the horses & Johnnie but did not do any harm only broke some harness. I finished Mary's dress. and did some mending. Oliver stayed at Marion's."

Thurs. Mar. 6: "26º above zero In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver and Florence & Mary K. went to school. The boys drew up 2 loads of wood but the sleighing is nearly gone. They had to come in the fields part of the way. At night Lawrence came up and Oliver came with him. They came in the Ford. After dinner Johnnie did chores & Jimmie chopped some trees across from the barn or well and cut them up."

Fri. Mar. 7: (Marjory's handwriting) " In the morning we got up quite early. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys went down to the lower place. Johnnie drew wood & Jimmie split wood. He drew two loads in forenoon and one in afternoon. We did the house work. At night we went to Argyle to Marion's. I stayed to Marion's & kept the kids. The rest except Marjory went to the card party and dance. Florence and I stayed all night. We got in the ditch going down and coming home we had to put on a chain on McEachron's hill. It was a good day. The roads are awful muddy."

Sat. Mar. 8: (Georgiana's handwriting) "Florence & I stayed all night at Marions Helen & I slept in Marion's bed and Ed went upstairs we didn't get up very early but the folks at home got up good season. It was raining and rained some nearly all day. Florence & I went over to Mothers for dinner and in the afternoon Florence went with Mary Emma to Junior M. Meeting. I helped Marion some and am going to stay all night. Went to Argyle Bank & signed some papers."

Sun. Mar. 9: "I was a Marions and Florence was too and we didn't get up very early and Marion and the children, except Dorothy, and Florence went to church and the children & Florence stayed for Sabbath school. We were at Marions for dinner and in the afternoon the rest of the Folks came down and Marjory went down to McWhorters and came up after Prayer Meeting. The roads are pretty Muddy. It snowed about 3 or 4 inches last night."

Mon. Mar. 10: "We got up quite early and the boys put up a grist and Johnnie took it to Fort Edward and Jimmie took the team and drew the rest of the wood they had cut at the McAuley place. 2 loads and then he split the Maple sticks that were left in the corner in front of the Horse barn. Oliver did chores and helped saw some of the sticks. There was no school in town today. The teachers went to conference at Fort Edward. We washed and the girls did the Ironing. It got colder and was frozen up in the morning."

Tues. Mar. 11: "We got up early and the boys did chores & Oliver drove King to school. Florence went to school and the boys went down to the the McAuley place and split some of the maple stumps or 2 logs that they left last year. The blew them apart with powder that Johnnie got out at Fort Edward yesterday. Mary Keyworth came back after school."

Wed. Mar. 12: "We got up early and Oliver drove King to school Johnnie & Jimmie drew out ten loads of manure with Queen and Ned and in the afternoon they went down to the lower place and cut or blew up wood Oliver came home & Lawrence came up with him and stayed all night. Johnnie & Jimmie went down to the play the Glens Falls folks gave for the benefit of the Senior class."

Thurs. Mar. 13: "We got up early and Lawrence went down with Oliver. He drove King to school The boys went down to the McAuley place and used up all the fuse they had and split some wood by hand. In the afternoon the boys drew manure. I colored a dress for Florence."

Fri. Mar. 14: "16º above zero We got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school and Florence & Mary K. went to school and the boys did chores and drew manure. John L & Henry Bussing came up to telephone toward night. We had pancakes for supper. at night the boys went to Argyle to a Card Party & Dance. Oliver brought home the groceries because the roads were so bad that Safford did not try to come."

Sat. Mar. 15: "We got up quite early and the boys went down to the lower place and finished blowing up the wood and drew it up and piled it. and brought up a load of old rails to boil sap with. I did a lot of baking and made bread too. Mrs. Gilchrist came down to see the baby and stayed quite a while. The boys or Jimmie & Oliver drew out Manure and Johnnie, Mary & Florence tapped 5 trees but the sap did not run very good. I made Florence a blue cordoroy skirt at night."

Sun. Mar. 16: "We didnt get up very early. The boys did the chores but we did not go to church as the roads were quite bad. Hazel, George & Minnie came down about 10 oclock and Ed. Marion and the children were coming up after Sabbath School so we waited dinner until after 2 oclock and the we had our dinner and Ed came up afoot. they had got stuck in the mud down on the swamp road. The boys & George took our Nash and went down and towed them out. They went home about eight oclock and got along alright. Hazel & George & Minnie went home about 4:30."

Mon. Mar. 17: "We got up quite early and did our washing. Oliver went to school with McKernans and came up with Lawrence after school. Marjory got things ready and she and the baby went down to Argyle to stay awhile at McWhorters It rained nearly all day. Mary Keyworth came back at night. Jimmie went two or three places to try to hire out for Half time but make any trade."

Tues. Mar. 18: "We got up quite early and Oliver drove King to school and it rained nearly all day He took the top wagon and Jimmie took Mary & Florence to school. The boys did the chores before noon and went out to Glens Falls to the show in the afternoon. The clothes are still on the lines on the porch and have not dried one bit. I cut out a dress for myself out of some dark Grey percale and got it all made before night."

Wed. Mar. 19: "We got up quite early Oliver drove to school and the clothes got dry during the night the wind got up and dried them. Oliver broke the crystal on his watch in the morning The boys chopped or cut down the old apple trees in the orchard and at night they went to Argyle and Oliver went down with them to stay at Marions the rest of the week. I made doughnuts in the forenoon."

Thurs. Mar. 20: "We did not get up very early. Jimmie went down to John Liddles to see about sawing wood but John had gone over to McNeils to saw. The roads were so bad that Saffords man did not come The boys drawed manure in the afternoon."

Fri. Mar. 21: "We got up quite early Florence & Mary Keyworth went to school. The boys did chores and Jimmie went down to see John Liddle about sawing wood but John was going to Walt McGowan's to saw. but about noon John telephoned to see if one of the boys could come over and help so Jimmie went and drove King. at night they went to arygle to a card party & dance for the Fish & Game club and Oliver came home with them and they brought the groceries."

(Busy's handwriting) "This forenoon we tore the plaster off of Busy's Room."

Sat. Mar. 22: "We got up quite early. John Liddle was coming up after the boys to go over to Walter McGowan's But about nine o'clock Johnny & Jimmy went down to the school house & met him. We did up the house work. About eleven o'clock we made Ice Cream. While we were making it Marjory & Laurence came up. And they stayed until about four o'clock. About five o'clock busy went up to McKernon's to stay all nite. Johnny & Jimmy got home about half past six from McGowans."

Sun. Mar. 23: "We didn't get up until late. The boys did the chores. After breakfast Johnny did not go out doors because he has got an awful sore eye. We did not go to church. In the afternoon Mary came home from McKernon's. We did not go down at nite. John Liddle and family came up about five o'clock and stayed a while. We heard today that Jay Ely's house and barn burned this P.M. While they they were at church Burned all their close and everything."

Mon. Mar. 24: "We got up quite early. We did a washing. In the forenoon Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Jimmy. He took a grist out in the Nash. Johnny did chores. Then they drawed down the apple tree wood out of the orchard. After dinner Johnny & Jimmy drove King down to Joe Randles to saw wood. After school Oliver rode up as far as Moody's with Lester Dean. And walked up to Randles and rode up with the boys. We did the ironing. And frose ice cream. Mary K. came up to stay"

Tues. Mar. 25: "We got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary K. went to school. It rained off and on all day. The boys did chores. Marjory, Laurence and Earl came up before noon. They stayed for supper. After dinner Jimmy, Johnny & Laurence took the two year old heffers horns off. and the Bulls."

Wed. Mar. 26: "We got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary K. went to school. After breakfast Johnny & Jimmy went down to Joe Randles to saw wood. We boiled sap for the first time today. Busy tapped three more trees. about eleven o'clock Lavine the calf man came up after a shovel. He was stuck down the road. About three o'clock the boys came up from Randles it snowed awful hard. They went down and helped Lavine out. Then Jimmy went around the mail route with John Liddle, did not get back until 7. Johnny did chores. "

Thurs. Mar. 27: "We got up quite early. Oliver drove King to school. Florence & Mary K went to school. Jimmy & Johnny went down to Joe Randles. We got dinner ready and waited for the wood sawers. But they did not come until afternoon. About two o'clock Jimmy brought the saw machine and John Liddle's team up. Then Johnny & John L. came up with his car. They sawed just a little wood. The roads are so bad Safford's man could not come so Oliver brought the groceries home. After supper Marjory, Laurence and Earl came up. Marjory and Earl are going to stay."

Fri. Mar. 28: "We got up early. John Liddle came up the boys sawed wood. Oliver stayed home. Florence and Mary K. went to school. After dinner Oliver, Johnny, Jimmy and John L. went up to the auction at Ralph Clare's. They got back about three o'clock. Then sawed wood until six. It is a good day. In the forenoon Johnny & Oliver tapped some more trees."

Sat. Mar. 29: "We got up early. We started boiling sap early. The boys started sawing wood. John Liddle came up to help finish. They sawed a lot of rails. They choped up all the rails in the afternoon. And put them under the steps. Johnny & Oliver drawed out manure in the afternoon. Jimmy went to Foster's with John Liddle to saw wood. Jimmy, Johnny & Busy went away. Busy kept Marion's children they went to the Falls to the show. Johnny, Oliver & Florence tapped the rest of the trees in the forenoon."

Sun. Mar. 30: "We didn't get up very early." (Marjory's handwriting) " The boys did chores. Johnnie and Jimmie worked on the Nash in the morning. We finished up the syrup that we boiled down yesterday. Then I got ready and Jimmie took me down to John Pollock's funeral. Jimmie went too. Florence went down & went to Sunday School with the children. Mary E. came up with McKernon's. Johnnie worked on the Nash about all day. We sugared off in the afternoon. We fixed the place where we boil sap. We did not go away at night. It was a good day but kind of cold."

Mon. Mar. 31: "We got up early. The boys did the chores. Florence went to school. Oliver went down with Laurence. We did the washing. Johnnie split wood in the forenoon and gathered sap. Then he went with a grist in the P.M. Jim went and helped John Liddle saw wood. In the afternoon we took the clothes down and did the ironing. At night Mary E. went down and stayed with Edna Liddle while Jimmie & John L. went to Fort Edward. Johnnie & Oliver didn't get home until quite late. So it was late when they got the chores done. We boiled sap from six until nine today. It ran awful good. It was a good day. Mary K. came back tonite to stay the rest of the week."

Tues. Apr. 1: "We got up early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Oliver drove King to school. We did up the house work. We finished up the syrup that we boiled yesterday. We boiled sap all day. It was awful windy. Jimmie went with John L. to help him saw wood. Johnnie split wood, gathered sap and did chores in forenoon. In the afternoon he drew out six loads of manure."

Wed. Apr. 2: "We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Oliver went down to school with Laurence. Jimmie went and worked for John L. in forenoon & part of afternoon. Then he came back and helped Johnnie draw manure. Johnnie drew manure all day. We boiled sap in the forenoon but in afternoon we let it go out because the wind blew so hard. We did up the house work. The sap didn't run much today. At night Johnnie & Jimmie took John's car and went to Argyle & Oliver came home with them. It was a good day but awful windy. We made some maple sugar in P.M. Sent Helen down some because it is her birthday."

Thurs. Apr. 3: "We got up early. Mary K. and Florence went to school. Oliver drove King to school. Jimmie went down to John's and went to saw wood. Johnnie went up on the hill with the team and got a load of rails. Harper came with the groceries. We started the fire early & boiled sap all day. It is running pretty good. Johnnie drew two load of manure in the forenoon. After dinner Johnnie did chores. and drew manure."

Fri. Apr. 4: "We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Oliver drove King to school. Jimmie went to Clare's and sawed wood. Johnnie split wood in forenoon. In the afternoon he went up to Ed. Clare's and helped saw wood. We boiled sap all day. It run pretty good. At night we all went to Argyle. I kept Marion's children and she & rest went to card party and dance. Marjory & Laurence & Earl came home quite early. It was a good day."

Sat. Apr. 5: "We did not get up very early. The boys did chores. We did up the house work and the other work. We started boiling sap about nine o'clock and boiled all day. We thought we could get it all boiled down but did not. Jimmie went and helped saw wood. In the forenoon the other boys drew manure with King & Queen. At noon Jimmie came to see if Oliver would go down to the schoolhouse and help saw wood. He did go. Johnnie did chores. Then he loaded on a load of rails and took them down to the schoolhouse and get them sawed. About supper time Jimmie went down to Howard Mahaffy's. At night Johnnie & Jimmie went to Argyle. It was a good day & warm. The roads are getting pretty good now."

Sun. Apr. 6: "We did not get up very early. We did up the housework and the boys did the chores. I finished off some syrup that we boiled yesterday. Then we got ready & all went to church except Marjory & Earl. they stayed at Mother's. Hazel & George & Minnie were to Marion's & Hazel & George went to church. They stayed there for dinner. Marjory & baby went down to MacWhorter's and stayed in P.M. At night we all went to Argyle & went to C. E. except me. I stayed to Mother's. It rained at night but the rest of the day was nice and warm .The sap run some."

Mon. Apr. 7: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did the washing. Jimmie went down to John Liddle's and worked. John came up here to telephone in the morning. Johnnie split wood and did some chores in forenoon . In P.M. he finished up the chores & split wood. We got the clothes all dry & ironing done. We boiled sap. Oliver stayed down to Marion's all night. Mary K. came back tonite to stay the rest of the week. It snowed at night enough to cover the ground."

Tues. Apr. 8: "We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Jimmie went to John Liddle's and worked. We did up the housework. Johnnie did chores and split wood. It was a good day. The sap didn't run much. Oliver stayed down all night to Marion's."

Wed. Apr. 9: "We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. We did up the house work. Jimmie went to Liddle's. Johnnie did chores & split wood in forenoon & drew manure in the afternoon. Oliver came up with Laurence after school. Then Marjory went to Argyle with him and at night he & Marjory went to Hartford to a Birthday party for Tom Black. I kept Earl. They went up to Hazel's for a while. It was a good day but kind of cold. The sap run pretty good."

Thurs. Apr. 10: "We got up quite early. Florence and Mary K. went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Jimmie went to Liddle's and worked. Johnnie had sore eyes and he laid around all forenoon. In afternoon he did chores. He went down to Liddle's then took Jimmie's car and went to Argyle and went to the Doctor's and got some medicine to wash his eye. Oliver came home with him. We boiled sap. It did not run very good."

Fri. Apr. 11: "We got up quite early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Johnnie went and took out a grist and Oliver rode down with him. Mary E. went down to Mother's to help her clean her kitchen cupboards. We did up work & canned some syrup. Jimmie went to Liddle's and worked. The sap run good in forenoon but not much in the afternoon. At night we went to Argyle & got Oliver. Mary E. went to grange. The rest went to Marion's & Mother's. It was a nice day & warm."

Sat. Apr. 12: "We got up quite early. The boys did the chores. The boys drew manure all day. Jimmie went to J. McAuley's and sawed wood in the forenoon but came home at noon. We did up the house work and toward night Mary E. and Florence gathered up the sap dishes and took out the spoils. Then she washed the dishes and put them away. Mary E. washed the milk cans that we had sap in. We boiled sap and boiled the last for this year. In afternoon Jimmie went to Argyle. Then he came home and took his car apart because it was broke. The boys went away at night. It was a good day and not very cold."

Sun. Apr. 13: "We did not get up very early. The boys did the chores. Then we got ready and all went to church except Marjory & Earl. They stayed to Mother's until night. I didn't stay for Sunday School. I came up to Mother's. In the afternoon we sugared off. In the morning I caned four quarts of syrup. We did not go away anywhere at night. It was cloudy but not very cold."

Mon. Apr. 14: "66º above zero. We got up quite early. The boys did the chores. We did a big washing. We got at it early. It dried awful good. We got the ironing all done in the afternoon and quite a lot of the mending. Oliver rode down with Laurence. In the afternoon Jimmie had to go to Glens Falls to get a part for his car. He went with John Liddle. Oliver rode home at night with them. The boys drew out manure in the forenoon. After they got chores done at noon Johnnie plowed until the plow broke. It was a nice day. Mary K. came back to stay this week."

Tues. Apr. 15: "24º above zero. We got up quite early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Mary E. went down to Lill Yarter's to work today & is going to stay until tomorrow. Jimmie took Oliver and Mary E. down to Argyle. Just as they were ready to start John Liddle came up to telephone to Dr. Stillman because Sam Craig had shot himself but was still living. He did it out in his front yard and he was carried in the house. Johnnie went down with John L. went he went down. Dr. S. came up & Mabel Snyder came up. They were going to take him to the hospital but his sister came & they took him to G.F.H. Clare went with them and Jimmie drove Clare's car out and brought him back. They got back about noon. Johnnie plowed part of afternoon & Jimmie did too. Jimmie went down after Oliver. It was a good day but kind of cold."

Wed. Apr. 16: "We got up early. The boys did chores. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did up the house work. Florence and Mary K. went to school. The boys drew manure in the forenoon. In the afternoon Jimmie went down to John Liddle's. Johnnie plowed. About three o'clock Marjory, Earl & I went to Argyle. We stoped at the school house & got Florence. She got her hair cut. Mary E. was coming home with us but Lill Y. wanted her another day so she stayed at Marion's. It was a good day but quite cold."

Thurs. Apr. 17: " We got up quite early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Oliver went with Jimmie and got a ride with Blanche J. We did up the housework. The boys drew up manure in forenoon. In the afternoon Jimmie took out a small grist & the part to the plow to get it fixed. When he came back he brought Oliver & Mary E. with him. It rained about all afternoon so Johnnie didn't plow. Mary E. was to Lill's working today."

Fri. Apr. 18: "We got up quite early. Florence & Mary K. went to school. Johnnie took Oliver down and Blanche J's kids rode down with them. The boys drew manure in the forenoon. In the afternoon Jimmie finished plowing the orchard. Johnnie went to Argyle in P.M. to play ball. I went down with him and stayed until nite. Oliver & Johnnie came home. Then they did chores and they all came down. I kept kids for Marion and the rest went to Card party & Dance. Marjory & Earl & Laurence came home quite early. It was a good day."

Sat. Apr. 19: "We got up quite early. Johnnie & Oliver drew manure. Jimmie went down to Liddle's didn't work so came back up. Then he washed his car and fixed tires the rest of the forenoon. In afternoon Jimmie & I went to Argyle church to Willard Durkee's funeral. Johnnie plowed down on the side hill all afternoon. Oliver & Florence did chores & chopped wood. It was a good but got quite cold at night. Johnnie was about sick at night"

Sun. Apr. 20: (Georgiana's handwriting) "We didnt get up very early and I stayed home from church and kept Earl and let Marjory go to church and Johnnie did not go all the rest of the folks went and Mother came home with them and in the afternoon Marion and the children came up and Mother went home with them. In the afternoon Jimmie went away and didnt come home until after prayer Meeting. The rest didnt go at night. Laurence came up after C. E. Earl is not feeling very good. It was a nice day but got windy before night."

Mon. Apr. 21: "We got up quite early and we did the washing but had quite a time getting the machine to work but got the washing done before noon. It was cloudy but the clothes dried so that the girls got the Ironing done. We got the ground ready for the sweet Peas and did not sow them but sowed asters & Petunias seed. Jimmie worked for J Liddle. Johnnie & Oliver plowed on the side hill below the barn finish it and when they were not plowing or doing chores they split wood. Laurence came up and he & Johnnie & Oliver went to see where the fire was that we could see Its was below Salem and when they got home It was snowing Jimmie went to look at a team at Kincaids at night."

Tues. Apr. 22: "Snow Storm We got up in good season and Jimmie went to John Liddles and Johnnie went with a grist and Oliver split wood some. It snowed some in the night. The ground was white and made the roads slippery. In the afternoon Johnnie plowed up above the Orchard. It was cloudy and snowed every little while all day."

Wed. Apr. 23: "24º above zero" (Marjory's handwriting) "We got up quite early. We did up the house work. The boys did chores. Jimmie went to John Liddle's. The boys set three hens to see if they would set. In the forenoon Laurence came up. And in the afternoon he & Marjory went to Hudson Falls & she got her hair cut. They did not come until after dark. Johnnie & Jimmie took Mary E. down to Argyle & she stayed with Marion's children while they went to Fort Edward. It was a good day. She came home with them. It was a good day but cold. It snowed some."

Thurs. Apr. 24: "20º above zero coldest in fifty years on Apr 24 We got up quite early. We did up the house work. Jimmie went to J. Liddle's working. In the forenoon Hazel, Minnie came down and stayed until about four o'clock. Johnnie plowed out behind the barn. John Liddle's cattle was running around so Johnnie went down and told them about them. Jimmie did not get home until late. It was cloudy & quite cold. Mary E. washed the wood work in her room & in Johnnie's."

Fri. Apr. 25: "30º above zero We got up quite early. We did up the housework. Jimmie went to Glens Falls to see L. Saunder's about his team. When he came back he brought Helen up with him. Then after a while Marion and the youngsters came up. They stayed until about supper time. Helen stayed up. Johnnie plowed out behind the barn. It was a good day but quite cool."

Sat. Apr. 26: "We got up in good season. Johnnie finished plowing the oat ground out behind the barn and began plowing to the lower house. Jimmie & Oliver split wood and got it all split today. Mary E. & Florence drew in the chunks & drew away the sawdust and picked up the chips. It was a good day. We did up the house work. At night we all went to Argyle. I kept Earl while Marjory & Mary E. went to Ellis' to a shower for Alice Ellis. Helen went down with us and she stayed down."

Sun. Apr. 27: "We got up quite early. The boys did chores. We did up the house work. We did not go to church because they did not have any. In the afternoon Jimmie took Marjory & Earl to Argyle. They stayed with Marion's children while she went to Joe Saunder's funeral. She kept Earl while Marjory went to C. E. At night we all went down and I went to Mother's and the rest went to

C. E. It was a good day."

Mon. Apr. 28: "We got up early. We did the washing. We did the ironing Johnnie went with grist in P.M. Jimmie plowed down to other house. Johnnie dragged out behind barn & in orchard. Jimmie went to Argyle in forenoon to see about getting a job in the big factory. Oliver came home with Johnnie. He went to school with Laurence. Mary K. began driving to day. In the afternoon we saw a partial eclipse of the sun. It was a good day."

Tues. Apr. 29: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Marjory took Oliver down as far as Scally's and he rode down with Blanche J. Johnnie went up and got Gilchrist's drill but it did not work so Jim went up to McKernon's & got his. At noon Johnnie went up and got it. In the forenoon Laurence came up. He stayed until after supper. Johnnie drilled all afternoon. Mary E. Marjory & Earl & I went down after Oliver. We burned brush after supper and in afternoon. It was a good day. The boys went away at night."

Wed. Apr. 30: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Mary E. & I took Oliver to school. Johnnie drilled in orchard and field above it. Mary & I pulled burrdocks & cleaned up out behind the hog pen. Jimmie helped & we burned the weeds & other stuff. He burned the leaves down along the road. In the afternoon Mary E. & Marjory & Earl went to Argyle after Oliver. Johnnie took Pollock's drill home with King & Queen then he took Gilchrist's drill home. It was a good day and warm."

Thurs. May 1: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Mary E. & I took Oliver to school. We took the Jabo___ kids with us. At night Oliver came home with Blanche J____ . Laurence came up the afternoon. Johnnie rolled out behind the barn and some in the orchard. Jimmie sowed oats down on the side hill. In the afternoon we had a thunder shower but didn't rain much. We cleaned out the well. Toward nite it rained some. Jimmie went to Argyle with Laurence and came back with him. Johnnie dragged down on the side hill in P.M."

Fri. May 2: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnnie finished rolling in orchard & field above it and started down on the side hill. In the afternoon the boys went down to Mrs. Willard Durkee's auction. Jimmie sowed the grass seed in the forenoon. Oliver came home with the boys. At night we had quite a hard thunder shower. We all went to Argyle. I saw J. Pendergrass It rained quite a bit. Mary E. stayed down to Marion's because she is not feeling very well. Oliver, Florence, Marjory, Earl & I came home with Laurence."

Sat. May 3: "We got up quite early. We did up the housework. In the forenoon Edna Liddle & girls & David came up to telephone they were here quite a while. The boys started plowing in the field below the orchard. The other boys went around the fences in the old cow pasture and the lane pasture. In the afternoon the ones that were not plowing just chored around. At night Jimmie went away. It was good day but quite cool at night. Marion is feeling better. There was church but we did not get around to go."

Sun. May 4: "We got up quite early. We did up the housework. The boys did the chores. We all went to church except Marjory & Earl. They stayed at Mother's. When we came home from church we brought all the youngsters home with us. At night Jimmie, Johnnie, Mary E, Ruth, Helen went down. Helen & Ruth stayed down. They brought up some clothes for the other children. We stayed home in the afternoon. It was a good day but awful warm. Marjory & Earl stayed down and came up with Laurence at night. Marjory brought up some of Mother's clothes for us to wash."

Mon. May 5: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Oliver went down with Laurence. We did the washing & ironing in the forenoon. We did Mother's and took them down to her. After dinner we got ready and went to Argyle. We washed the wood work & windows in Mother's sitting room and got it ready to paper. At night J. Pendergrass came to Mother's and washed the ceiling. We brought Oliver home with us. Ruth, Eddy & Dot came up with us. Marion is in bed she doesn't feel very good. The boys plowed. It was a good day."

Tues. May 6: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Oliver went down with Laurence. Mary E. & Ruth rode down with him too. We did up the housework. In afternoon we went to Argyle after Oliver. Busy and Ruth stayed down. The rest of the children came home with us. Eddy waited and come up with Laurence. The boys went away at night. They took turns plowing during the day. At night was school meeting. Oliver and Laurence went down. It was a good day."

Wed. May 7: "We got up quite early. We did up house work. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence & Helen did too. Jimmie took out a grist in forenoon. He had a flat tire before he got home. Johnnie dragged all day. At noon he fixed tire then we got ready and went to Argyle. Jimmie & I went to Will Todd's funeral. Going down we had a flat tire. Just as we were ready to come home we had another one. Marion & all the kids except Helen came up to stay a while. She went down to Lill's It was a good day except we had a thunder shower in the afternoon."

Thurs. May 8: "We got up early. Oliver went down with Laurence. Florence went to school. Jimmie marked out with Ned and then they planted potatoes & then they covered them. We did up the house work. It was a good day."

Fri. May 9: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Oliver went down with Laurence. The boys finished planting potatoes in the forenoon. We made some ice cream in the forenoon. In the afternoon Johnnie went to Argyle to play ball. He took Jimmie's car. Jimmie rolled the potatoes. Johnnie brought Oliver & Helen home with him. It was a good day."

Sat. May 10: " We got up early. We did up the house work. Johnnie & Oliver drew manure and Jimmie planted corn down to the lower house. In afternoon the boys fixed tires. Toward night Marjory took Marion, Eddy & Ruth home with Jimmie's car. At night Helen & Busy went down with Jimmie & Johnnie. It was a good day."

Sun. May 11: "We got up quite early. We did up the house work. The boys did the chores. We got ready and went to church. We stopped at Marion's and we had a flat tire so we left the car there & some of us rode down to church with Hazel & George & Minnie. Marjory took Earl to church for the first time. Hazel & George & Minnie came up here and stayed until 3:30. In the P.M. Johnnie went away and played ball. Jimmie went away in P.M. At night we all went to Argyle. I kept Earl and the rest went to C. E. It was a good day and warm."

Mon. May 12: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did the washing & the ironing. Johnnie plowed above the oat field behind the barn. In the forenoon Jimmie went down to lower place & went around the fence. At night after school the boys took the young cattle down to the lower place. We went down after them. It was a good day. Jimmie went down after Oliver."

Tues. May 13: "We got up quite early. Florence went to school. Jimmie took Oliver down to school. Then he came back here with some groceries then he went to see if he could get a job. He is going to morrow morning for the rest of the week at J. P. Bain's. He went to Argyle the rest of the day and brought Oliver home with him. Johnnie plowed all day up above the barn. It was a good day. Mary E. worked out doors all day. We did the housework."

Wed. May 14: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Jimmie took Oliver to school. Then he went to Bain's to work. Johnnie plowed all day. At noon he went and put the cows in because they got out. We did housework & went out doors and had a bonfire. Then we fixed my plant boxes in the forenoon. In the P.M. we mended and sewed other things. It rained at noon a little and rained most of the evening."

Thurs. May 15: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. It was raining so Johnnie just chored around. We did up housework, sewed some and Mary E. washed the woodwork in Jimmie's room and hall & clothes press. We got a new tube and Johnnie fixed the tire & went to meet Oliver. It rained most all forenoon and part of the afternoon."

Fri. May 16: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down to school with Laurence." (Busy's handwriting) "We did up the house work. Johnny plowed. About five o'clock Florence, Marjory & Busy went down after Oliver they base ball after school."

Sat. May 17: "We got up quite early. In the forenoon we did up the house work and the girls cleaned their clothes press. Johnny & Oliver drawed manure all day up on the hill below the orchard. At nite Jimmy came from Bains and he and Johnny went away. I have been trying to fix over some hats. Fixed one for Florence."

Sun. May 18: "We got up quite early. The boys did chores. We did not go to church. But Jimmy, Johnny, Marjory & Earl went to Argyle about 10:30. Johnny went to Hudson Falls to play base ball. Jimmy went too. Marjory & Earl went to McWhorters. Stayed down until nite. In the afternoon Oliver, Busy, Florence & I went down to salt the young cattle. The boys got home about six o'clock. We did not go to C. E."

Mon. May 19: (Marjory's handwriting) "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did the washing. The clothes got mostly dry. Johnnie dragged the corn ground in forenoon & in the afternoon he marked out the corn ground. We went to Argyle & Mary E. stayed at Marion's & helped her iron & they kept Earl. Marjory, Mother & I went to Fort Edward with a grist & some seed corn. We brought Oliver home with us. Before we got home it rained and it rained in the evening. Jimmie came home & Laurence came up."

Tues. May 20: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnnie plowed & marked out some. We did the house work. In afternoon Marjory & Mary E. went down after Oliver. Oliver was going to the Doctor's after some medicine but he was not home. So Laurence brought it up when he came. Then the boys planted corn a while after they got back. It was a good day. Florence & Mary got the cows. We did the ironing in forenoon."

Wed. May 21: "Florence went to school. We cleaned the open chamber today. Oliver stayed home from school today. The boys planted corn and Johnnie plowed. Jimmie went to back his car out of the barn & he couldn't. In the afternoon he took his car down to MacNaughton's & brought back a ford sedan. Jimmie marked out in the forenoon. It rained some in the afternoon. We had a big bond fire."

Thurs. May 22: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did up the house work. Johnnie plowed about all day. In P.M. Marjory & Mary E. went to Argyle after Oliver. We had a thunder shower in afternoon. We cleaned the parlor in the forenoon. At night we went to Argyle . I kept Earl at Marion's and the rest went to a social at the church. Jimmie went to McNaughton's in forenoon & was here for dinner then went to Bain's. He came back at night & we all went to Argyle with him."

Fri. May 23: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnnie plowed all day. Jimmie went to MacNaughton's in forenoon & went back to Bain's. Johnnie went down to Argyle to play ball. We cleaned the hall upstairs. It was a good day. It was a good day."

Sat. May 24: (Busy's handwriting) "We got up quite early. We did up the house work. The boys took turns plowing in the field down below the orchard. They fixed the fence in the little orchard in the forenoon and turned the 2 calves out in the afternoon. At nite Jimmy came over from Bain's. and he, Johnny and Busy went to Argyle. The boys went to the Falls and busy kept Marions kids and she and Ed. went to the Falls. We cleaned the hall down stairs."

Sun. May 25: "We did not get up very early. The boys did chores. We did not go to church. It rained all day hard off and on. In the afternoon Johnny, Oliver, Florence & Busy went down to salt the young cattle and lost the funnel down to the crick to the school house. After the boys got the chores done at nite we stired down some mable sugar. Did not go to church at nite."

Mon. May 26: "We got up early. Florence did not go to school. She has a week vacation. Oliver went down with Laurence. Today is Marjory's birthday. Jimmy & Johnny sorted potatoes in the forenoon. In the afternoon Jimmy took out a load in the nash and brought oliver home. Busy read out the sectary and in the afternoon we put fathers diarys in the sectary and read out some boxes. I made Marjory a birthday cake. At nite Jimmy & Johnny sorted potatoes."

Tues. May 27: "We got up early. Florence did not go to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We washed today. It rained off & on in the forenoon. Johnny finished plowing in the field down below the orchard. And started plowing in the field up above the cow pasture down by Claytons. In the afternoon the clothes dried. Florence, Marjory & Busy went to Argyle to get Oliver. Hartford was coming down to play baseball but did not come. Will McWhorter's big Jersey Bull got in with our cows. Mr. Nichols came over and him and Johnny got it out and took it back over to Nichols."

Wed. May 28: (Marjory's handwriting) "We got up quite early. Oliver went to school & rode down with Laurence. Florence & I went to Argyle with Laurence & stayed all day. Florence went to school at Argyle. I stayed at Mother's because she is not feeling very well. She has got the grippe. Johnnie, Marjory, Mary E. & Earl went to Argyle. Johnnie was going to H. F. to play ball but he got left so he came home with us. We all came home & we brought Dot home with us. It rained in the evening & all night but was a good day. At night Jimmie came home & he & Johnnie & Marjory went out to the show to the Falls."

Thurs. May 29: "We got up early. Florence did not have any school. Oliver rode down to school with Laurence. Johnnie plowed. Mary E. washed the woodwork in my bedroom & Oliver's. I washed the curtains and bureau covers. They got dry and we put them back up & on. We finished Oliver's room. In the afternoon Jimmie went to Fort Edward with a grist and brought Oliver home with him. Toward night we tacked the carpet down in the hall. It rained off & on all day."

Fri. May 30: "We got up quite early. We finished cleaning my bedroom and did up the housework. In the forenoon Jimmie went down to South Argyle to get a new spring in his car. Johnnie & Oliver plowed & Johnnie cultivated down to the lower house. In the afternoon we took some flowers and went down to Argyle & left them on the cemetery. Then we went on down to Mother's. The boys played ball and the girls watched them. Marjory & Earl stayed down until evening. We did not get home until quite late. Then the boys did chores. And the boys went away. It rained quite a many times but didn't amount to much. Dorothy went down & stayed home."

Sat. May 31: "We go up early. We did up the house work. Jimmie was working at Bain's. Johnnie & Oliver sorted potatoes. In the afternoon Mary, Florence, Marjory & Earl & I went to Hazel's because it was Minnie's birthday. We stayed for Supper then Hazel & Minnie came home and stayed here all night. Jimmie came home at night and stayed all night. It was a good day & quite warm."

Sun. June 1: (Busy's handwriting) "We got up quite early. We all went to church. Marjory took Earl. And Hazel, George and Minnie went. When We got to Argyle George was at Marions. Hazel took her suit case and they was to Marions for dinner and to Mothers some of the time. Marjory and Earl stayed down to McWhorter's for dinner and until nite. When we came home from church we see that the Jersey down to the McAuley place had had a calf. So after dinner we took the 2 calves out into the little orchard down and brought the two heffers up. We went to Argyle at nite."

Mon. June 2: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did a washing. Johnny plowed in the field above the cow pasture all day. The girls did the ironing in the afternoon. After dinner Busy took me down to the school house to see what they were going to do about field day. Marjory & Busy went to Argyle after Oliver. At nite Busy took me up to Gilchrists on a little business. The boys sorted potatoes after they got chores done. Jimmy came home in the nite. He has finished work at Bains."

Tues. June 3: "We got up early. Today is field day. Oliver & Florence went to Argyle with Laurence. The high school is going to Saratoga. Florence has to spell. The rest of us went about half past nine. We went down by the church and watched them race etc in the A.M. Then we went to Marion's and had a picnic. Lill, Richard & Floss. ate with us too. After dinner we went up to the hall to the speaking etc. We came home about five o'clock. The boys did chores. Then Jimmy & Johnny went away."

Wed. June 4: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did up the house work, mended etc. Johnny plowed in A.M. In the forenoon Jimmy went to look for some horses to get to plow with. In the afternoon Jimmy took a load of potatoes to Fort Edward and brought Oliver home with him. He had a flat tire. In the P.M. Johnny dragged."

Thurs. June 5: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnny dragged all day in the field below the orchard. Jimmy went down with Laurence and brought up one of Ralph McGeoch's horses and got one of Ed. Pollock's. In the afternoon he plowed. We did up the house work and cleaned the sitting room. At nite Jimmy, Johnny & Oliver went to Argyle. Oliver stayed to Argyle got his hair cut and played ball. etc. Johnny went to the circus. Jimmy & Laurence went out and watched them take the tent down and load the animals."

Fri. June 6: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnny & Jimmy both plowed all forenoon. We did up the house work, set some turkey eggs, got a coop ready for some chickens. It rained and blowed in the afternoon. and we had a thunder shower. Jimmy plowed some in the afternoon. Johnny & Marjory went to Argyle. Marjory brought Oliver home. Johnny stayed to go to the show. Intended to play base ball. But it rained. at nite Jimmy went away. Marjory went down with him to a party at McW's for Mr. F. Bible Study Class. Jimmie came down to Mother's tonite."

Sat. June 7: "We got up early. We did up the house work in the forenoon we froze some ice cream Jimmy plowed. Johnny & Oliver took turns plowing and they sorted potatoes. Jimmy plowed in P.M. down by cow pasture. Oliver & Johnny drawed manure. Jimmy took R. McG.'s & E. P.'s horses back. In the afternoon Marjory, Busy, Florence, Earl & myself went to Argyle. Florence practiced for childrens day at church. We saw Jennie. At nite Busy & I went up to Gilchrists to take their oats back."

Sun. June 8: "We got up early. We went to church. Marjory took Earl. Marion and all the children went. Jennie went too. Today is children's Day. Florence, Helen spoke. And Eddie with Katherine K. Jennie & Mother came up from church with us. Stayed all day and we all went down at nite. Jimmy is leader at Christian Endeavor."

Mon. June 9: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did not wash it is very rainy. Jimmy went to McNaughton's all day to work on his car. After dinner Johnny took out a grist. Busy went with him to get her hair cut a pattern for a new dress. While they were gone Lill. Y. called up to see if Busy could come down to keep Richard while she taught school for Miss Cronin because John Cronin died this morning. Lill taught today. Ralph kept R. in A.M. & Cora S. in P.M."

Tues. June 10: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver & Busy rode down with Laurence. Busy is going to Lill's to keep Richard while she taught school. We washed today." (Marjory's handwriting) "We did the ironing in the afternoon. The clothes all got dry. In the afternoon Jimmie went to Argyle and got Ed's truck and brought up a load of fertilizer & brought the wagon up behind the truck. Oliver came home with him. Then Jimmie went up to Foster's & Reid's after potatoes. After supper he & Johnnie went up to Clare's to get the bull. Jimmie & Johnnie went to Argyle. They took the truck home & brought back his car. It was a good day. Jimmy got Morgan's coverer with Ed's truck."

Wed. June 11: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did up the house work. In the afternoon we went to Argyle after Oliver and Busy. It was a good day."

Thurs. June 12: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Johnnie and Jimmie went down to Clayton B's. and Jimmie brought back his team. Johnnie dragged most all day with his team. Jimmie cut potatoes part of the day. Marjory helped cut potatoes too. Busy went up and helped Rose Ann Pollock clean house. Marion & the children came up after school & Oliver rode up with them. Jimmie went to Argyle & got Ed's truck and brought up some more fertilizer. Then they took it back at night. Busy went home with Marion to stay with the children. All of the boys went down to hear the big fight."

Fri. June 13: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We called to Robert Stewart's and he said that we could take his potato planter. So Jimmie & Charley Harkey & his truck went up after it. Then they planted potatoes. They planted some of ours and in the afternoon they planted Jimmie's. We cut potatoes in the afternoon. Johnnie dragged some. Oliver walked part way home. At night Johnnie & Jimmy went to Argyle & took Busy down to Grange. It was a good day."

Sat. June 14: "The boys planted potatoes in the forenoon & afternoon. Oliver cultivated with Ned done quite a number other jobs. We did up the housework & churned & cut potatoes. In the afternoon Busy & Florence washed Jimmie's car. Then we went down to the lower place and picked Strawberries. While there Marion and the children came up and they are going to stay all night. It was a good day. The boys went away at night. Jimmie took Clayton's team home and Marjory took Jimmie's car down and brought him home."

Sun. June 15: (Busy's handwriting) "We got up early. We did not go to church. In forenoon Clayton & Mary & Harry came along a while. After dinner Johnny & Jimmy went down to the lake a while. And Marion, children and all of us went down to salt the Young cattle. And children went in swimming a while. Florence & I went down with Marion & children before the boys did chores. After supper the rest came down. Went to C. E. Then we all went to M. E. Church Children's Day Exercise. Marion & children too."

Mon. June 16: "Florence went to school We got up early. We did the washing. Oliver rode down with Laurence He has to try History Exam. this A.M Marjory went down after him. In P.M. The boys & Busy went up to plant potatoes after they had been their about an hour it rained hard and off and on all the rest of the day. The boys & I finished cutting the potatoes. Johnny & Jimmy went away at nite."

Tues. June 17: "We got up early. Florence went to school. It is a good day. The boys and busy planted potatoes all day. We did the ironing in the forenoon and baked some. Jimmy took the cover back to Morgan's. At nite Jimmy & Johnny went away. Oliver did not have any exam. today."

Wed. June 18: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver has to try Geometry Exam. this A.M. Jimmy took some potatoes up to Clif. Mayott's place for Germain. He took Oliver down. And waited until he was thru. In the P.M. boys & Busy, Florence sorted over some potatoes and started to clean out the cellar. Jimmy & Johnny went away at nite."

Thurs. June 19: "We got up early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. He has to try Physical Geography this A.M. Florence has Examinations today. Jimmy went down to Clayton Barkleys to work by the day. Johnny dragged some. Before noon Marjory went to Argyle after Oliver. In P.M. the girls picked some straw berries in the P.M.

Fri. June 20: "We got up early. Florence went to school To try Exams. In the afternoon Marjory, Earl, Busy & I took Oliver to Argyle to try English Grammar Exam. Marjory & Earl stayed down. At nite we all went to Argyle I kept Earl and the rest all went to a social at church. We did up the house work. In A.M. Johnny dragged some. And in P.M. he planted corn with Dave Scally's planter."

Sat. June 21: "We got up early. Johnny finished planting corn. Oliver cultivated. In forenoon Florence & Busy picked some strawberries in cow pasture. In the afternoon the girls worked out to the end of the house pulling weeks. At nite Johnny & Jimmy went away."

Sun. June 22: "We got up early. We all went to church except Jimmy he stayed home. Marjory & Earl stayed to Mothers. Marion and children were to church. Hazel, George, Minnie and William were to church too. They had to go home after church as they expected company. At nite we all went to to Argyle. I kept Marions children Eddie Dotie and Earl. And the rest went to Church to Baccalaureatte service. Rev. Walter Skellie preached. Helen came home with us."

Mon. June 23: "Florence and Helen went to school. We got up early. The boys plowed, dragged and planted corn down in the field by the corner of the woods. We did the washing. Then hurried and got things ready to go to the school picnic for the school down here. They had it at McAuley place. There was forty-six their. The clothes dried good. As it is a very good day. About four o'clock Laurence came up after Marjory. They went to Hudson Falls at nite to commencement. Leona McLenithen graduates. Helen is here went to the picnic."

Tues. June 24: "We got up early. We did the ironing. The boys cultivated corn. Helen & Florence played. In the afternoon Helen, Florence & I took a nap. Busy cut weeds. after our nap. Busy, Florence & Helen pick berries for supper. And a few for Grandma. At nite we went to Argyle Went to commencement. Marion & children too. Helen stayed down. Marjory & Earl stayed and kept Dot. Florence stayed down to Marions. Oliver planted corn & cucumbers down by other house."

Wed. June 25: "We got up early. In forenoon Marjory & Busy planted beans, Beets and set out the tomato plants. The boys cultivated corn. At noon Johnny took the load of rotten potatoes, apples some weeds etc down and dumped them. In P.M. Busy finished cleaning out the cellar. The boys quit early and did the chores and we all went to Argyle. I went to Mothers and kept Earl. Marion & children, Marjory, Florence & Busy all the boys went to the circus at Argyle. Florence came home with us at nite."

Thurs. June 26: "We got up early. The boys hoed potatoes and sprayed some in forenoon. And sprayed in P.M. In forenoon busy & Florence picked some straw berries up in back field. Johnny mowed some today in the clover field above the horse pasture for the first mowing this year."

Fri. June 27: "We got up early. The boys worked with the potatoes in the forenoon. In the afternoon they picked cherries. And we got word that the pigs were at Fort Edward. So Johnny, Florence & I went to the Fort after them. John Liddle & folks were here when we got home. Talking about potato planter. At nite Jimmy & Johnny went away."

Sat. June 28: "We got up early. In the forenoon Johnny mowed. Oliver cultivated corn. Johnny raked the hay he mowed Thursday before noon. We did up the house work. In P.M. Marjory picked Raspberries. Her & Florence got the cows. They drawed in three loads of hay. Racked up what Johnny mowed in A.M. Bunched it. At nite we all went to the Billiken to McIntyre Picnic. Lawrence took Mother. Harry, Nettie & boys were their. After the picnic Marjory, Lawrence & Earl took Mother home."

Sun. June 29: "We got up early. Hazel & George went to meet Will & Net. and left Minnie at Marions. Marion kept Earl. Marjory took Ruth, Busy took Minnie and Florence & Helen went to church. I went but forgot to change my shoes so I could not go in church so came back to Marions. After church we brought Dot. home. Busy stayed at Marions. Jimmy and Dot. went down at nite. John Liddles folks came up. And John, Oliver & Johnny went to Stewarts to see about the potato sprayed. Edna & children stayed here."

Mon. June 30: "We got up early. We did the washing. In forenoon Marjory, busy ironed and I ironed three pair of pants. Johnny covered potatoes. Oliver cultivated potatoes until about eleven. Then they drawed in one load of hay all they have cut. After dinner we got the clothes all down and all went to Fort Edward except the boys. Florence got her hair cut. We had a flat tire coming home. Bert Mix fixed the mowing machine knives that John Liddle took down Saturday. We brought it home. Johnny & Oliver cultivated corn in P.M."

Tues. July 1: (Marjory's handwriting) "We got up early. Mary E. went to Ralph McGeoch's to work. He came up after her and brought her home at night. We did up the house work. I started making my black & White dress. The boys cultivated and covered. At night we had a hard rain. The rest of the day and good. Laurence brought up part for the mowing machine."

Wed. July 2: "We got up early. Mary E. went down with Laurence to Ralph McGeoch's to work. The boys cultivated & mowed. We did house work. I worked on my dress. In the afternoon Marjory & Florence went berrying. While Oliver was after the cows we had a hard rain shower. It was a good day. At night we went to Argyle after Mary. While there Lydia, Kenneth, Margaret, Kenneth, Margaret came to Mother's and we saw them."

Thurs. July 3: "We got up early. We did up the house work. The boys cultivated and sprayed the potatoes. John went to Morgan's and got a hand sprayer. Johnnie covered in forenoon. I finished my dress today. At night Jimmie came up and stayed all night."

Fri. July 4: (Busy's handwriting) "We got up early. Johnny finished spraying potatoes with Morgan's sprayer. We got our dinner ready and went to Argyle. They had the parade at noon. After the parade we ate dinner at Marions. Hazel, Minnie and William were their, Marjory, Laurence & Earl, Harry's folks and Mother too. Their were several Baseball games. At chore time Johnny, Oliver & Busy went home. and Florence & I stayed at Marions and Mothers. Jimmy went some where. Marjory & Earl stayed at McW.s. B. O. J. came down at nite to a Band Concert then we came home. Jimmy went back to Claytons tonite."

Sat. July 5: "We got up early. We did the house work. Johnny covered Jimmy's potatoes in forenoon. After dinner Oliver raked hay in clover field. Florence & Busy bunched it. Johnny took coverer back to Clayton's. Then they drawed in two loads hay. In forenoon Florence & Busy picked some Raspberries enough to make some pies."

Sun. July 6: "We got up early. We did not go to church. In the forenoon we went down at the Turkey coops and saw people running up and down the big hill. After dinner we went down to the Oaks a while. came back by Lasher's. Oliver brought the cows when we got to the pasture. At nite we went to Argyle. I kept Earl at Mothers. Marjory is leader."

Mon. July 7: "We got up early. We did a washing. The boys cultivated. Johnny mowed the rest of the clover in that field. In the afternoon we went to the McAuley place and picked Raspberries. At nite "

Tues. July 8: "We got early. After breakfast Johnny took King & Queen and went to Mr. Stewarts after the potato strayer. Busy & I went to John Liddles to tell him to go up to Stewarts. We canned the berries we got yesterday P.M. We cooked chicken for dinner. We ironed, we churned. Busy, Florence & Oliver went up to Claytons after a bag of lime, and to the McAuley place after a load of water (6 milk cans) full. John L. & Johnny & Oliver filled up the sprayer, started spraying. Went across two or three times then the pole broke and they got spilled. After dinner Marjory and I went to Argyle after some groceries & things. Busy & Florence stayed at McAuley place and picked berries. After we got home Marj. & Florence went after the cows. The boys raked the hay & bunched it in the P.M. Busy & boys drawed in a load. At nite Johnny, Oliver, Florence & Busy went up to Stewarts to get a part of the planter fixed."

Wed. July 9: "We got up early. We canned the berries we got yesterday. In the morning we got one load of hay that is all raked & bunched. After they got thru loading it on it started to rain. We throad in some wood. We started cleaning the pantry today. In P.M. Johnny went to John L.'s to get a pole for the sprayer. But did not get it. After they got the chores done Johnny & Oliver went down and they cut a pole."

Thurs. July 10: "We got up early. We cleaned in the pantry some. cleaned the good cubbards, & dishes. After dinner the girls went down and picked some berries. At nite the boys went to Argyle. It is alumni Banquet. The boys went to Argyle early to play base ball. In the afternoon John Liddle came up and they fixed the sprayer. In the forenoon the boys raked and bunched hay. Then went to the base ball game. Eva & Jack came along a while."

Fri. July 11: "We got up early. Did up the house work. The boys & busy & Florence drawed in two loads of hay, finished the hay in that field. It rained. We finished cleaning the pantry. In the afternoon Johnny took King & Queen over to Keyworth's to get them shod. Florence & Marjory picked some berries around here by the oat field etc."

Sat. July 12: "We got up early. We did up the house work. Johnny & Oliver went down after a load of water. Started spraying the potatoes. Before dinner Busy, Oliver & Florence went down after a load of water. They finished spraying about three o'clock. Johnny got cleaned up. Then he cultivated with King. Oliver did with Ned, awhile then got the cows. I baked bread. The girls went berring. Got a lot. We canned some of them. Took some to Mother and Marion when at nite we went to Argyle."

Sun. July 13: "We got up early. We all went to church. We took our dinner. I went with Jimmy. The rest went with the nash. After church Jimmy & I went to Hartford to May Lundy's funeral. Jimmy kept Minnie. Marjory & Earl went down McWhorters. The rest went and ate their dinner. Then went back to Marions. Then Marion, children & rest went to Lake a while. We had got back when they came. And Jimmy had gone some where else. At nite we all went to Argyle. I stayed at Mothers and kept Earl. It is a good day."

Mon. July 14: "We got up early. But did not wash. As it is very rainy. We churned. The boys did odd jobs in forenoon. The boys cultivated potatoes in afternoon. Oliver is not feeling very well this afternoon. Johnny got cows. In afternoon we went down to McAuley place and picked a lot of berries. We canned some. Then at nite we all went to Argyle a while and tool Lill. Y. down Ten quarts of berries. We brought Dorothy home with us. As Marion wants to go berring tomorrow."

Tues. July 15: "We got up early. We washed today. We did most of the ironing. In the forenoon Oliver cultivated potatoes. Johnny mowed the clover field by the lane. In the afternoon the boys cultivated corn up in front of the house."

Wed. July 16: "We got up early. I finished the ironing. And the girls went down to the McAuley place and picked some raspberries. This is the first afternoon of Chautauque. In the morning Oliver & Johnny cultivated. About ten o'clock they raked & bunched the hay Johnny mowed yesterday. In the afternoon they drew in two loads in P.M. At nite we all went to Argyle to Chautauque. And took eight quarts of raspberries to Polly Yarter's for Guy Hill."

Thurs. July 17: "We got up early. We set out some asters & petunias out in front of the house. Oliver cultivated corn up behind the barn. Johnny mowed in the field out here by the house or by the horse barn. He broke a part of the machine. After dinner the boys & Busy drew in the load of hay that was left yesterday. The boys cultivated potatoes in P.M. And the rest of us went to Argyle to Chautauque in P.M. Marjory & Earl stayed down to McW's. coming home down by the other house we had a flat tire. Johnny fixed it. And we all went to Chautauque at nite. Jennie D., Willard, Mary & Marlyn are at Mothers."

Fri. July 18: "We got up early. We did up the house work. Johnny finished mowing the strip he started yesterday. Oliver raked the hay Johnny mowed yesterday. Busy & Florence bunched it. They drew in two loads of hay before dinner. And one after. Toward nite they raked what Johnny mowed this morning. They did chores they drew in that load of hay. In the A.M. Mary & Willard Durkee came up and stayed for dinner. At nite we all went to Argyle to Chautauque. Florence was sick. She & Marjory & Earl stayed in the car a while. Then after the lecture I stay in the car with them. The boys stayed and helped take the tent down. and had some water melon. We stayed until they got thru."

Sat. July 19: "We did not get up very early. The boys cultivated potatoes in the forenoon. In the afternoon the boys cultivated corn down by the cow pasture. In the forenoon we churned, did a lot of baking to get ready for the party tomorrow. In the afternoon about four o'clock we went down to the McAuley place and picked some raspberries. We got quite a lot done up some. Made some Jam after supper."

Sun. July 20: (Georgiana's handwriting) "We didnt get up quite as early as usual and I frosted Florences Birthday cake and made custard for Ice Cream and we had a picnic to celebrate the Birthdays. Stanley's 19 June, Harolds July 8, Earls & Mine 13th, Florence today, Olivers Aug 2 & Eddies Aug 8. Harrys Folks & Edd's Family, Georges & Hazel & Minnie & Mother & Lawrence's family, Jimmie came up after chores. were all here and Nettie brought Mrs. Mead with her. Harry had gone fishing up north. There were 25 in all . we set tables down in the grove. The boys, Busy & Florence played ball after dinner and at night we & Edds Folk went down to the Oaks and the children went in bathing. Didnt get around in time for C. E.

Mon. July 21: (Busy's handwriting) " We got up early. When we got ready to wash the wire broke again. We fixed it. And then we washed. We did some of the ironing. In the forenoon Oliver cultivated potatoes. And Johnny mowed up in the field by the cow pasture. The steep part and the flat. In the afternoon Oliver & Johnny cultivated potatoes. It rained some in the nite."

Tues. July 22: "We got up early . Finished the ironing. It rained some this forenoon. The boys chored around some and cultivated some potatoes. After dinner Marion came up and left the children. And Marjory, Marion & Busy went blue berring. They stopped at Jessie Foster's and she told them they were all gone. So they came home and went down to McAuley place and picked raspberries & black caps. They see that the young cattle were out. So Johnny, Oliver, Florence & Busy went down and put them in. In A.M. Oliver cultivated potatoes & Johnny mowed the other side hill up by the cow pasture. After the boys got chores done they, Florence & Busy went to Clare's to get some poison. They run out of gas on the hill out here."

Wed. July 23: "We got up early. In the forenoon Oliver raked the hay Johnny mowed Monday. The rest bunched it. And they got a load before dinner. In the morning Johnny went to McAuley place after a load of water. He filled the sprayer. And the girls went after a load of water. After dinner they drawed in the other load of hay. And raked what Johnny mowed yesterday and bunched it. Johnny sprayed early potatoes in A.M. After supper John L. and Hi More came up and fixed the sprayer. It pluged up some way and Johnny did not finish.

Thurs. July 24: (Georgiana's handwriting) "In the morning after the chores were done Johnnie mowed in the lower part of the field across from the barn mowed about half of the lower part of the field and then he took the Sprayer and finished Spraying the earliest potatoes got through about half past Twelve. Oliver helped Johnnie some and cultivated potatoes. In the afternoon they drew in the rest of the hay up in the field next to the cow pasture. Marjory, Mary & Florence went out to Hudson Falls to get a permit for Mary to drive with and to get some feed & lime at Fort Edward. They had 2 flat tires."

Fri. July 25: (Busy's handwriting) "We got up early. In the forenoon Johnny mowed the rest of the field out by the barn. And Oliver raked what he mowed the day before. And Florence & Busy bunched it. About ten o'clock they drawed in hay. Two loads before dinner and one after dinner. About three o'clock we all went down to McAuley place. The boys salted the young cattle and we picked a few raspberries. Then after they got back they racked & bunched the hay Johnny mowed in A.M. At nite we all went to Argyle. Johnny went to Lake Sunnyside. Busy went to grange.

Sat. July 26: "We did not get up very early. I made bread. In the morning I cooked custard for ice cream. Today is the Mason's & Eastern Star Picnic. Marion brought children up about nine o'clock. In the forenoon Oliver cultivated potatoes. And Johnny finished mowing the field up by the cow pasture about ten o'clock. Then the boys & Busy & Florence brought in two load of hay before dinner. After dinner the boys & Busy rake, bunched & drew in the hay Johnny mowed in A.M. At nite Jimmy came up & him & Johnny went away. The children are going to stay all nite."

Sun. July 27: "We did not get up very early. The boys did chores. The children are here. We all went to church. Marjory took Earl. In P.M. she & Earl stayed down to McW's. After dinner Jimmy & Johnny went down to the Oaks a while. At nite we all went to Argyle. I kept Earl at Mothers and the rest went to C. E."

Mon. July 28: "We got up early. We did the washing. Before breakfast I took a kink in my back. And could not hardly get around all day. In the morning Johnny mowed the field up above the oats and Jimmy's potatoes. In the afternoon they raked and bunched and drew it in. Finished the haying on that side of the road. Busy & Marjory piled the wood that had been thrown in."

Tues. July 29: "We got up early. We did the ironing. Johnny went up on the hill above the oats and mowed about half of it. In the afternoon they raked some and drew in one load. After dinner the boys took the plow and made a road up thru. It stipped over the road and nearly tipped over. At nite Johnny went away. We worked with the wood."

Wed. July 30: "We got up early. We did up the house work. Johnny went up on the hill and mowed. He finished that field. Oliver raked the rest he mowed yesterday. Busy & Florence bunched it. They put on the load that was left from that was mowed yesterday and came down and nearly tipped over. After dinner they made a new road. They raked and drew in two loads Johnny mowed this forenoon. At nite we all went to Argyle. The girls thru in wood. And piled some."

Thurs. July 31: "We got up early. We did up the house work. In the forenoon Johnny went upon the hill and mowed over half of the field up above the corn field. Oliver cultivated corn down by the cow pasture. After dinner Johnny, Oliver, Busy drew in two loads and Florence raked. The girls thru in wood. Before supper Laurence came up and they put a ring in the bulls nose. Johnny covered some potatoes with King & Ned. at nite we all went down to John Liddles. John had gone away the rest had gone to bed."

Fri. Aug. 1: "We got up early. We did up the house work. The boys went down to John Liddle's. They took the team and mowing machine. Oliver was sent down to Joe. Randles to work. We worked on the wood all day. But a while we went down to Mahaffy's to see the baby. On our way back Florence & Busy got out and got the cows. Marion & children were here while we were gone. Johnny & Oliver brought Johns car home. At nite we all went down. Took the Nash. John had to have his car to take milk in morning. We stayed while boys went to Bob Bain's to see about thrashing. The boys hooked the bull out doors for first today."

Sat. Aug. 2: "We got up early. In the morning John L. came up after the boys. Today is Olivers birthday is today. So I made a cake for him. In the forenoon we cracked some butternuts. The girls finished throwing in the wood before Breakfast. Picked up the chips and raked up. Florence & Busy picked some berries. Marjory & Earl went to the Williamson Picnic and took some berries to Eva & Jack. In the afternoon Florence, Busy & I went for a ride. Laurence said the young cattle were out so the boys put them in. They did not get back until late. Marion, Ed, kids, Marjory, Laurence, Earl, Jimmy all went to the Fort today.
Sun. Aug. 3: "We did not get up very early. We went to church. Marion kept Earl. Mr. Barr is minister. It is comunion. In the afternoon Jimmy went down to the Lake. He brought Bob. Gardner home with him. In the afternoon we went down to salt the young cattle. When we came back we stoped down to the school house and helped put in two or three cows that had got out. At nite we went down to Argyle the rest went to C. E. I went to Mothers."

Mon. Aug. 4: "We got up early. We did the washing. The boys went to John L.'s. and helped draw in hay. Before breakfast Busy & I went down to Mahaffy's to see about thrashing. After we were thru washing busy went down to take the wire away from the chicken coops and heard a noise in the barn. Went up and queen was down in the barn. Had one leg down thru where they throw manure. Clare went down to Liddles and they came up. Hi Moore came up. They got her out. At nite we all went to Argyle. It was rainy all afternoon."

Tues. Aug. 5: "We got up early. Johnny went upon the hill and finished cutting hay. And cut the piece down by the woods. Oliver finished cultivating corn down by the cow pasture. John Liddle came up and started reaping. Johnny cultivated potatoes. About half past eleven Oliver raked up the hay F. & B. bunched it. In the P.M. they finished the hay upon the hills. Oliver did the milking. John cradled & Johnny rep oats. They finished the field above the orchard and the orchard. at nite Jimmy came up and Busy & Johnny and him went to the billiken to the Grange Picnic."

Wed. Aug. 6: "We got up early. We did up the house work. The girls finished pilling wood. cleaned up the wood shed. John came up and they rep the field out behind the cow barn and some of the field below. John cradled some. Oliver & Busy milked. Jimmy came up a while at nite. The boys got a load of oats before dinner up on the hill. The field up above the orchard. One more load left up their."

Thurs. Aug. 7: 'We got up early. We moved the stove around. We did up the house work. Moped and churned. John cradled. Johnny rept. they finished cutting the oats. In the forenoon Marjory, Florence and Busy took John's car and got a load of water down to McAuley place. Hi. Moore came in the forenoon. Oliver took king & queen down after John's hay rack. They got a load of oats before dinner. Finished the field up above the orchard. John L. and Hi. M. were here for dinner. Bain's came with the machine it was raining so they went on home. Jimmy came up but went back. Hank B. came. Laurence came. They stayed all afternoon and fooled around. It was rainy all P.M. at nite we went to Argyle. We had a thunder shower."

Fri. Aug. 8: "We got up early. In the morning Johnny, Oliver & Florence went down to fix the fence where the cows got out in the corn yesterday. A while before dinner John Liddle & Kids came up. Florence went home with them to stay all P.M. After dinner John L., Hi. Moore, Hank B., came and they turned the oats in the orchard. Then Clayton B. came. And Bob. & Laurence Bain came to thrash. This P.M. they thrashed the two load they had on the wagons and the oats in the orchard. At nite Jimmy came up. We all went to Argyle. Busy went Garang. It rained hard. And we had a thunder shower. Busy got the cows. And her and Oliver did the milking while the boys drew the oats over to the barn. 105 bu. We stopped to Liddles to get Florence she had gone to Argyle with Liddles."

Sat. Aug. 9: "We got up early. We did up the house work. John L. came up after his team to spray potatoes. Johnny took his team and reaper down. John took the cans and got a load of water. Johnny brought his car up. Oliver cultivated potatoes. About 11 o'clock Laurence came, Johnny went down after John. Oliver quit cultivating. They all turned the oats out behind the barn. While we were eating dinner Jimmy came up. Hank B. came in P.M. and Joe Randles. Bain's came and they finished the thrashing this afternoon. Florence built the loads out behind the barn. And her and busy pitched on down on the side hill. They went down after the cows. After dinner Marjory & John L. went down and got John's team. At nite they drew the oats over to the barn .They had 284 bushel in all. Johnny & Jimmy went away at nite."

Sun. Aug. 10: "We did not get up very early. The boys did the chores. We did not go to church as we have two flat tires on the Nash. We all slept nearly all forenoon and part of the afternoon. After dinner Jimmy went to Argyle. Marjory & Earl went with him. In the afternoon Oliver & Johnny went upon the hill to look around at the crops. The boys did the chores at nite. We did not any of us go away at nite. Jimmy went back to Claytons after supper. We made some candy today."

Mon. Aug. 11: "We got up early. We did the washing. The closes got dry. Oliver cultivated potatoes in the forenoon. And Johnny took the thrashing machine over to Will. McGeoch's. He took Liddle's team. And John L. took King & Queen to work with. In the afternoon Johnny Mowed the flat in the orchard. Oliver mowed around the trees. Oliver got the cows. In the afternoon Marion and the children came up to pick berries. We picked the Garden Berries. She told us that Howard Snyder shot himself in the Argyle Bank. She brought the paper about it. Jimmy came up at nite. Harry & Nettie came over with a car. We went for a ride. But did not trade."

Tues. Aug. 12: "We got up early. We did up the house work. Oliver cultivated potatoes. Johnny covered potatoes. About eleven o'clock. Oliver raked the hay in the orchard. Johnny, Florence & Busy drew in one load before dinner. In the afternoon Florence, Johnny & Busy drew in the other load. Oliver got the cows. In the afternoon we put the curtains up in Busy's room."

Wed. Aug. 13: "We got up early. We did up the house work. The boys went down to John Liddle's to thrash. Before dinner Harry came over with another car. We went up by Nichols and down to John Liddles. We did not trade cars. The boys came up about chore time. They brought the sprayer up behind the hay rack. Oliver got the cows. Clayton & Harry Barkley came up a while. We set out some aster plants."

Thurs. Aug. 14: "We got up early. We did up the house work, churned, etc. The boys went down to Clayton's to help him thrash. About nine o'clock it started to rain. It rained nearly all day. In the afternoon the boys started cleaning out the barn. We made some candy. The boys did chores. After supper Jimmy came up and he and Johnny went up to Nelson's Dance Hall. Today is Howard Snyder's Funeral. Hazel was down to the funeral and at Marions."

Fri. Aug. 15: "We got up early. Marjory went down with Laurence. they are going to the Falls. To take the Irwin Girls. We did up the house work, mended some today. The boys cleaned out the horse barn this forenoon. The boys took the team and hay rack and went down to the school house and got the cans full of water. Then Johnny sprayed potatoes. Oliver got the cows. Oliver cut some weeds around here. Last nite Johnny brought Jimmy's car up."

Sat. Aug. 16: "We got up early. We did the baking. I baked bread. In the afternoon We did some mending. In the forenoon Oliver finished cultivating potatoes. He finished them. Johnny covered potatoes in the forenoon and afternoon too. Oliver cut brush and weeds around on the bank in front of the house. etc. At nite Jimmy came up from Clayton's. Johnny & Oliver went to Argyle with him. Fred Darfler brought a bag of feed from Salem for us. Marjory, Oliver & Florence went down to the corner to meet him. They took Jimmy's car Jimmy came down from Claytons and took is car down.

Sun. Aug. 17: "We did not get up very early. The boys did the chores. Marjory & Earl went down with Laurence. We did not go to church their is no church to Argyle. There is a big centennial celebration at North Argyle. Every body is supposed to go up their. Jimmy went. The boys got the new tube last nite and they fixed the tires this forenoon. In the afternoon we went down to salt the young cattle. At nite Jimmy went up to North Argyle to church."

Mon. Aug. 18: "We got up early. We did the washing, ironing & mending today. Johnny mowed the side hill down in the orchard. Oliver cut weeds around here and mowed around the trees in the orchard in the forenoon. In the afternoon they went up to Clayton's to thrash. Busy & Florence got the cows. And at nite we all went to Argyle. I stayed at Mothers and Marjory & Earl too. The rest went to the Big Free Show at Argyle."

Tues. Aug. 19: "We got up early. We did a lot of baking. The boys changed tires. The girls cleaned inside the car. After dinner we sprayed some oil on the car. Washed glasses etc. Oliver raked the hay and they drew it all in. Haying all done except the swale. At nite Mr. McKinney and Mr. Frasier came. Oliver, Florence & Busy got insured with the Meterpolin company."

Wed. Aug. 20: "We got up early. The boys did the chores. We got dinner all ready expecting to go to the fair. But desided not too. Se we took our dinner down to the McAuley place and ate their. Oliver, Florence & Johnny went in swimming. After we got home it rained hard for quite a while. At nite we all went to Argyle. Johnny went out to the fair with George Reid & Ed. Mac.E. The rest & Marion & children went to the Free Show at Argyle. I kept Earl at Mothers. Jimmy was at Argyle. But went back to Claytons at nite."

Thurs. Aug. 21: "We got up early. While the boys did chores we got dinner ready. And all went to the fair. Jimmy came up. And he drove his car out. Marjory & Earl went with us. Marion, The children and Floss Mac E. went. Laurence was their too. John Liddle and family did our chores. And we stayed out for nite. Marion, The children & Floss Mac E. went on the Grand Stand. We got home about twelve o'clock. Jimmy stayed out for nite. Laurence did too."

Fri. Aug. 22: "We got up early. While the boys were doing the chores we got dinner ready. And went to the Fair. Marjory & Earl stayed to Marions. While we were eating dinner Laurence & Eddie came. Marion & children, Marjory & Earl came about three o'clock. About five o'clock Laurence went back to Argyle to do his chores. Marjory & Earl, Eddie & Dotie and myself went with him. Marjory & Laurence went back at nite. I kept Earl, Eddie & Dotie at Marions. The rest stayed out. Jimmy went at nite. Florence & Busy came home with Marion. Florence & Busy & I came up from Marions with Marj. & Laurence. The boys came later."

Sat. Aug. 23: "We did not get up very early. We did up the house work. The boys mowed some by hand down in the swale. Oliver went up after the horses but it rained so he did not get them. The dry cows were up in the same pasture up by Clare's. Oliver found Elsie with a bossy calf. They brought her down. Then it rained some for a while. After diner Edna Liddle came up after Johnny to go down to help them with their stable. Oliver cut weeds around here and got the cows. And at nite we went to Argyle. To get some cow feed that Floyd Inman brought out. We went to Mothers & Marions. Eddie is sick."

Sun. Aug. 24: "We did not get up very early. Their is no church at Argyle today. Hazel & Minnie & George were down a while then went up to the North Argyle Church. They came back here for dinner. Laurence came up in the forenoon. Hazel & George went home about four o'clock. Then Marjory & Earl went down with Laurence. At nite the rest of us went down. They all went to C. E. I kept Earl at Mothers. Eddie is feeling some better."

Mon. Aug. 25: "We got up early. We did the washing, ironing & mending. The boys mowed the swale in the forenoon. In the afternoon Florence & Busy & the boys went down to the McAuley place to put the young cattle in. They got the cows early. Dr. Nevens came and tested the cows. In the afternoon Dr. Thomas from West Rupert came and examined Oliver, Florence & Busy for their insurance."

Tues. Aug. 26: "We got up early. We did up the house work. In the forenoon the boys & Florence raked & bunched the hay down in the swale. After dinner Johnny took Marjory, Earl & Florence to Argyle. Marion is going to keep Earl. Florence stayed their. Johnny & Marjory brought Grandma up. Then Marjory, Mother, Busy & I all went to C. E. Convention at Hebron Church. Mother stayed over to Lidia's until nite. The boys drew in two loads of hay. Finished the haying . They raked up the dead weeds in the orchard and burned them. At nite we all went to Hebron church. Brought Mother over and went to Argyle and brought Earl home. Florence stayed at Marions all nite."

Wed. Aug. 27: "We got up early. We did up the house work. The boys cut brush down along the road. We churned. After dinner the boys fixed a place for the pigs. They emptied the oats. Marion & children went up to Hazel's. Florence is down to Marions. She went to. And Helen & Florence stayed up. Jimmy came up at nite. Johnny & Jimmy went away."

Thurs. Aug. 28: "We did not get up very early. We did up the house work. The boys cut brush in the forenoon. After dinner the boys & Busy went down to the McAuley place and put the young cattle in the barn. Dr. Nevens came in the afternoon and the cows are all right. None have

T. B. At nite we all went to Argyle. Ed. Mac E. brought out some feed and some blue stone to spray potatoes. we had to get it. The boys measured out some blue stone in bags. and left the barrel in the barn down to Mothers.

Fri. Aug. 29: "We got up early. In the forenoon Johnny took the team down to John Liddles and got the sprayer. They got two loads in the car. After dinner Marjory, Busy, Earl & myself went up to Hazels. We stayed a while. Then we brought Helen & Florence home. We went by Argyle and left Helen. The boys sprayer one load this P.M. They broke the sprayer. Jimmy came up a while at nite."

Sat. Aug. 30: "We got up earlie. We did up the house work. I baked bread, and buns. Johnny went to Fort Edward to get the part of the sprayer fixed. Marjory & Florence went up to McKernon's Marjory is taking school census today. Oliver rode up with them. Then he walked on up to David Fosters to help thrash. Johnny, Florence & Earl went up after Oliver a while before dinner. In the afternoon the boys cut brush. Florence & Busy went around with Marjory to take the School Census. At nite we all went to Argyle. Dotie is still sick."

Sun. Aug. 31: "We did not get up very early. We did not go to church. Jimmy came up. In the afternoon we went down to the McAuley place. And we went up to Jim. Scally's as they were not home yesterday when Marjory went up. We all went to Argyle at nite. & kept Earl at Mother's. Marjory, Laurence & Oliver went out to the fire works at Hudson Falls. The rest went to C. E. as Johnny is leader. Ruth is sick. Dorothy is some better."

Mon. Sept. 1: "We got up early. We are not going to wash. It is rainy. So we got some hot water. And Marjory & Busy went to clean the school house. They went up to Bussing's & Williams' to take school census. Johnny & Oliver went with them Then they went down to Liddle's. The boys came back and they all stayed at the school house. While we were eating dinner Arronson came after a calf. John Liddle & kids came up. Johnny went down with them to help with the stable. After dinner we all went to the school house and finished cleaning. Oliver got the cows. M. & E. went down after Johnny Then we all came home.

Tues. Sept. 2: "We got up early. Oliver started school. It started on new time. He went down with McKernons. We did the washing. Johnny mowed the yard down to school house. Before dinner Johnny & Florence went down after Oliver. After dinner the boys & Florence went down to clean out the well down to the school house. But they did not clean it out. The boys got the cows and did chores. Jimmy came up and him & Johnny went away. Ruthie & Dotie are some better but Helen is not feeling very well. Helen & Eddie went to school today. They only had to go about a half hour. Eddie's first year."

Wed. Sept. 3: "We got up early. Florence started school this morning. Johnny took Oliver & Gert. down to school. Busy went down with him to spend the day at Marion's. Ruthie is better Dotie is not feeling very well. Helen is sick and did not go to school. Johnny went on to Fort Edward after some grain. When he got home he had a flat tire & fixed it. Oliver & Busy came home with John McKernon. Johnny went down to the school house and raked up the hay. Florence gathered it and they threw it over the fence. Oliver got the cows and the boys did chores."

Thurs. Sept. 4: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver went down with John McKernon. Johnny went to the Rutland Fair. Marshall McGeoch came up and he went down to Claytons with him and they both went with Jimmy. Florence came home from school before four and we all went down after Oliver & Gert. Gave Miss Irwin a ride down to the turn that goes to her house. Oliver, Busy & Florence did the chores. Johnny did not get home until late. Helen went to school. Dotie is not feeling very well yet."

Fri. Sept. 5: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Johnny took Oliver & Gert. to school. He stopped to John Liddles on his way back and helped him draw in hay on the McAuley place. We did up the house work and I made a coat for Earl today. Oliver came home with John McKernon. Johnny came up from John's just as Oliver got back with the cows. It was kinda late when they got the chores done."

Sat. Sept. 6: "We got up early. We did up the house work. About nine o'clock we went down to the school house. We cleaned out the stove pipe and chimney. The boys burned the dead hay. Hank B. came up after one of the boys to go down to the McAuley place to draw in hay. We came home and Johnny went down. He came up about one o'clock and got Oliver and they finished it in about an hour. Then we had a thunder shower. The boys, Florence & Busy went down to clean out the well but did not. They got 2 loads of water for the milk house. Then got the cows and did chores. And we all went to Argyle at nite. Dotie is better."

Sun. Sept. 7: "We did not get up very early. The boys did chores. We did up the work. Jimmy came up. And we all went to church. Marjory & Earl stayed down. We see that some of the young cattle were out. After we had dinner and got the dishes done we went down and put them in & fixed the fence. At nite we all went to Argyle. I stayed at Mother's. The rest went . They had a new preacher at church today. He talked a while at nite. His name is Mr. R. A. Wilson a cousin of Mr. Simpsons."

Mon. Sept 8: "We got up early. Florence went down to school. Oliver had to go at 8 o'clock he went with John McK. He has to go to court at Salem this week. We washed. Johnny could not get the engine going. So we washed by hand. Johnny went down to Liddles to get an engine to get ours going. But could not get it. After he got back he went down and he got it going. After dinner he fixed it so it pumps. The clothes all got dry. Johnny went down after Oliver & Gert. He got the car fixed some. He got some oil. He put new oil in the engine. And we put some water in the batteries. It run from 4:30 to 8:00 and some in the P.M.

Tues. Sept. 9: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver went down to school with John McK. He started at 7:30 o'clock. Johnny chored around. Cut some corn for the cows, etc. In the P.M. he went up to Gilchrist's to help thrash. Marjory & Busy went to Argyle after Oliver & Gert. After they got back the boys did chores. And Jimmy came up he & Johnny went up to Pendergrass' picnic grounds Howard Todd's class & Mrs. Simpson's class had a Weeny Roast."

Wed. Sept. 10: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver went down to school with Ed. Pollock. He did not have to go so early. In the forenoon we went down to the McAuley place and the young cattle were all out except the two small ones. We went up to Jim Scallys and around. But we could not find them. In the afternoon Johnny & Busy picked up 20 bushel of cider apples in the P.M. The all of us except Johnny went to Argyle. Jennie is down at Mothers. We saw her a while. Then came home & Johnny had the cows in the barn and was milking. We had supper. And went to look for the young cattle. We went to Randle's, Bolio's. He saw them up to Lena W.'s place. We went up but did not see them. So went over to John Liddles and spent the evening."

Thurs. Sept. 11: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Busy & I took Oliver & Gert. down to school. Stopped at Marions & Mothers a minute. Jennie is there yet. Then came home. Johnny cut brush down by the other house. chored around. We got some elderberries up the road. After dinner we went to look for the young cattle. We found them down below Harve Randles. We brought them up and put them in the barn at the McAuley place on our way home we got some elderberries. Johnny got the cows early and let them eat down along the road. Florence & Oliver got home from school we went down and brought the young cattle up and put them in the cow pasture up by Clare's. Then we had supper and the boys did chores.

Fri. Sept. 12: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Ed. Pollock took Oliver & Gert. down to school. We did up the house work. Johnny sprayed potatoes nearly all forenoon. Then he broke the sprayer. In the P.M. he chored around. John McK. brought the kids up from school. He is thru at court. After Oliver got home we Canned 8 qts of elderberries that we got yesterday. We had supper. The boys did chores. Then we all went to Argyle. Johnny & Busy went to Garange. We went to Mothers & Marions. We came home with Laurence & Marjory. Johnny & Busy came later. They had a dance."

Sat. Sept. 13: "We did not get up very early. Johnny finished spraying. He got the part of the sprayer fixed last nite at Argyle. Oliver chored around. We did up the house work. I baked bread. In the afternoon the boys were about ready to go to Fred. McAuley's Auction when Gilchrists came along. So they went with Gilchrists. When the boys got home some of the young cattle were out in the potatoes. They put them in. Busy & Florence got the cows. After supper the boys were doing chores the young cattle all came up the road. They put them in the barn and left them all nite. Jimmie came up stayed a while then went to Argyle."

Sun. Sept. 14: "The boys turned out the young cattle and fixed the fence. We did not get up very early. Jimmy came up. It rained in the morning. We went to church Marjory & Earl stayed to Marions. Jennie went to church too. Helen & Dorothy came home with us. Marjory & Earl went down to McWhorters. Jimmy came up he brought some ice cream for dinner. In the P.M. the boys, Florence, Helen, Dotie & Busy went down to the school house after a load of water. At nite we all went to Argyle. I kept Earl at Mothers. The rest went to C. E."

Mon. Sept. 15: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Ed. Pollock. Gert. is going to stay down. We washed & did the ironing. In the forenoon Johnny chored around. In the afternoon he picked Wolf River apples. About two o'clock Marion called up and said that Merritt Durkee & His wife were at Mothers. So Marjory, Earl, Busy & I went down. They had to leave soon after we got their. Jimmie went back to Hudson Falls with them. She is going to stay a few days and come back to Argyle again. Oliver drove home. We went over to Liddles after Florence."

Tues. Sept. 16: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Johnny took Oliver as far as Dave Scally's. He walked and Jim. Murdock caught up to him and gave him a ride. Johnny stayed to John's a while then came home. I baked nearly all forenoon. We mended some in A.M .& P.M. too. After dinner Johnny & Busy sorted over some cidar apples and picked up some more in P.M. Johnny went to Argyle after Oliver. Helen is not feeling very well. It rained hard in the nite, we had a thunder shower last nite."

Wed. Sept. 17: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Johnny took Oliver down to school. And took fifteen bushel of cidar apples at Heaths. When he got back he dug five bushel of potatoes. Busy & him picked them. They picked some cidar apples too. About two o'clock Johnny & I went away. I stoped at Argyle. He took five bushel of potatoes and 1 bushel W. R. apples out to Walt. McY.'s and we brought home some feed. & Oliver too. Jimmy came up at nite. And Johnny went away with him. Helen is sick and did not go to school."

Thurs. Sept. 18: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Johnny took Oliver down to school. He took fifteen bushel of cidar apples. Helen did not go to school this A.M. But did in the P.M. She is feeling better. After Johnny got back from Argyle he took David Foster's belt back to him. He stopped to Ralph Clares on the way back to see about filling silo. He was not home. After dinner he picked Wolf River apples. In the P.M. Ralph Clare came down a while. I worked with my gray dress today. The girls went down to meet Oliver. Stopped at the McAuley place and picked some grapes."

Fri. Sept. 19: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Johnny took Oliver down to school.
When he came home he brought Ruth & Dorothy home. Before breakfast R. Clare called down and said that the bull was out. They went up and put him in. After Johnny got back from Argyle he fixed the fence. We did up the house work. I cooked the grapes. We baked some. I baked bread. After dinner the dry cows got out in to the potatoes. Johnny put them in and fixed the fence. Then we all went to Argyle. Hartford came down and the boys played base ball. Mother went over to Salem & West Hebron with Nellie Wicks and her Mother, Susie Hagar & Mabel Beattie and stayed all day. Merritt & his wife brought Jen. back to Mothers. Marj. got her hair cut. Her & Earl stayed down . We came home did the chores and went back to Argyle at nite I kept Earl at Marions and the rest went to C. E. Social."

Sat. Sept 20: "We did not get up so early. Johnny went down to Joe. Randles to work in John Liddles place as he has to carry mail. Oliver chored around all day. We did up the house work. I made grape jelly today. After dinner Oliver, Florence & Busy went up on the hill to see if the cattle were all right. They were. While they were up their Mr. Blaisdell came to see Oliver. He stayed a while. Oliver got the cows. Had the milking all down when Johnny got home. We had supper. Johnny took the Nash and went to Argyle. After he had gone Jimmy came up and went to Argyle too."

Sun. Sept. 21: "Jimmy went with George Craig with the milk. We did not get up very early. We all went to church except Marjory & Earl they stayed at Mothers. Mother or Jennie did not go to church they are kinda tired. Florence & Busy stayed for S.S. Ruth is sick. Florence stayed down to Marions until nite. Marj. & Earl went to McW.'s. Eddie came home with us. After dinner the boys went up in the back field to get the horses. And some of the young cattle and dry cows were out. They came back. Took the car and Busy went they found them up to Ed. Clares. They put them in. Jimmy got the cows. We all went to Argyle. I kept Earl. Marjory & Laurence & Johnny went out to the show. The rest went to C. E."

Mon. Sept. 22: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Ed. Pollock & Gert. We did the washing & ironing. Johnny took the team and hay rack & went to Clare's to help fill silo. About eleven o'clock he came home because they broke down. After dinner he went down to John Cuthberts to help fill silo. Oliver walked home from school. Busy & Florence got the cows. Oliver started milking. Then Johnny came. Mrs. Clare called down and said the young cattle were out. So they all but Earl & I went up and got them. Brought them and put them in the barn. We had supper. The boys finished milking. Then they made pokes for the young cattle. nine o'clock when they got thru. Ruth is feeling better."

Tues. Sept. 23: "We got up early. Johnny went back to Clare's to fill silo. He took the team. Florence went to school. We all went and took Oliver to school. Then went up to Hazel's. We stayed until about three o'clock. Then we came back to Argyle. Brought Mother & Jen. back to Argyle. And brought Oliver home from school. Stopped at John Liddles and got Florence. Florence & Busy got the cows. Oliver got some corn for the cows. After supper. And the boys got the chores done. Johnny, Oliver & I went down to the school house to a school meeting."

Wed. Sept. 24: "Florence went to school. We got up early. The boys cut some corn and Johnny took it down to John Liddles on the hay rack with King & Queen. He is going to help John fill silo. Busy & I took Oliver down as far as the cemetary. Then came home and we canned some tomatoes. (12 qts.) And made some chili sauce. After Florence got home her & Busy got the cows. Then we went down to Liddles after Johnny. He left the team. We brought home some ensilage for the cows. After supper Johnny & Busy milked. Oliver went to Hartford to play Base Ball. He came up with Laurence at nite."

Thurs. Sept. 25: "Florence went to school. We got up early. It rained last nite and is rainy this forenoon. Johnny took Oliver to school on the way back he had to get the cows out of Mrs. B. Jabolonski's buckwheat. Then he came home and got some barewire and fixed the fence. We did up the house work in the A.M. After dinner Johnny, Marjory, Earl, Busy & I went to Argyle. Johnny played ball with some of the boys up to the Filling Station. Busy went down to school. Marjory, Earl & I were to Mother's & Marion's. Ed got a bushel of peaches. I stayed down at Mothers. The rest came home & brought half of the peaches. I stayed down & came home with Laurence. Florence went down to Liddles after school."

Fri. Sept. 26: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Jennie went back to Albany with Harold Yarter to the train this morning. Johnny took Oliver part way to school. he got a ride with some one else. Johnny came back to Liddles to help fill silo. We did up the house work. Then we canned peaches. (15 pts.) Johnny came up after his shoes with John's car. Earl, Marjory & Busy went back and brought up the Nash. Leona B. came up a while in the P.M. Busy & Florence went and got the cows. Ralph Clare called up and said the young cattle & dry cows were out. Marjory, Florence & Busy went to Argyle after Oliver they played base ball. They brought Johnny home from Liddle's. We had supper then the boys did chores."

Sat. Sept. 27: "We got up early. The boys & Florence & Busy went up to Clares after the cattle. Put them in. Clares are fixing the fence. Then they came back Johnny & Oliver went down to Liddles to help fill silo. We did up the house work. At noon Jimmy came up to help fill silo but he went back to Claytons in the P.M. About two o'clock the boys brought up the engine and ensilage cutter. John Liddle came up. and Hank & Edwin Bussing. They put it up. Then they picked the corn down by the other house and cut it. Brought up one load run it thru and put a corn knife in by mistake then stoped. Florence & Busy started picking Pound Sweets this P.M. Jimmy & Johnny went away at nite. At nite Hazel & George brought Minnie down to stay all nite. They are going away tomorrow."

Sun. Sept. 28: "Minnie is here. Stayed all nite last nite. We did not get up very early. Jimmy came up after breakfast. We did not go to church. In the forenoon we went down to the McAuley place and got some grapes. After dinner Jimmy, Johnny, Oliver, Busy & Florence went upon the hill to see about the young cattle. After they got back Bob. Sloan came and stay a while. John Liddle's folks all came up stayed a while. The boys did chores. Then we all went to C. E. I kept Earl at Mothers. The rest went over to Marions. Hazel & George came down and got Minnie. Then we came home."

Mon. Sept. 29: "Florence went to school. We got up early. Oliver didn't go to school. We did the washing. Jimmy came up, John L. came, Hank & Edwin B. came and they are cutting corn and picking corn. In P.M. they started filling in P.M. Busy went over in the Silo. They went down by the field beside the woods. They got two load of the green corn before they quit. They run them thru to see if it was going to go all right. They did. So the rest went home. We had supper. The boys did chores. Jimmy stayed all nite. In the morning John L. sharpened the knives they got all dulled up Saturday."

Tues. Sept. 30: "We got up early. Florence went to school. John L had to take the Mail today as R. McG. is going to WhiteHall to a Grange thing. Oliver did not go to school. Hank & Edwin B. came. The boys cut & picked corn, out behind the cow barn. They cut some of the corn down across from the woods. In the forenoon John Cuthbert was here in the A.M. at noon the boys all went up to Gilchrists the dry cows & 2 calves were up their. It rained just after they got back. The rest went home. Laurence was up helping the boys. We had supper the boys did chores. Johnny & Jimmy went away at nite. The boys took 2 calves up and salted the rest."

Wed. Oct. 1: "We got up early. Florence went to school. The boys are working with the silo. John L. came up Edwin B. came too. Laurence came at noon as they tested his cows at Argyle in the A.M. In the P.M. they started putting in the green corn down by the woods. In the A.M. they got the rest all picked and cut up behind the barn. And all put into the silo. The big World Series started today. Between the Athletics and the Cardinals. The A's. won today on their own ground. The boys worked quite late. Then we had supper and they did chores."

Thurs. Oct. 2: "We got up early. Florence went to school. John Liddle, Edwin B. came to help with the Silo. Laurence came up and brought Mother up. R. Clare sent Jim Rye down with John McK's. team & Hay Rack. They got the three loads of corn. And the engine would not start. Johnny & Jimmy went down after John L. old chevrolet. It worked until about three o'clock. Then Jim Rye went home. Laurence went to Argyle after a part for the engine. They got it going. Mother went home with Laurence. In the P.M. Hazel called up that Minnie & George were sick. We had supper the boys did chores. Then Jimmy & I took Busy up to Hazels. She stayed all nite."

Fri. Oct. 3: (Marjory's handwriting) "We got up early. Florence went to school. Hank & Edwin B. Jim Rye, John L & the boys all helped fill silo. The engine worked good until about three o'clock. They worked at it quite a while until they got it fixed. They worked until dark but they did not get it quite filled. In P.M. Marion & the children came up to watch them fill silo. They stayed for supper. Jimmy went down to Claytons to stay that night. Oliver didn't go to school any of this week."

Sat. Oct. 4: "We got up early. Johnny went down to Joe Randle's to help thresh. At noon Jimmy came up to get Oliver to help thresh down to Claytons. He went down with Jimmy." (Georgiana's handwriting) "At night Mary brought him up home about half past four Johnnie & John LIddle came up and finished cutting the Corn that was on the wagon and went and got the rest of the corn there was 2 loads, and put in the silo. It was full again. John L took his team and the engine home."

Sun. Oct. 5: (Busy's handwriting) " We did not get up very early. The boys did chores. After breakfast Florence & Oliver went down to the cow pasture and got some walnuts and beach nuts. About noon Hazel, George & Minnie brought Busy home. They stayed for dinner. Laurence was up for dinner. Jimmy is not feeling very well. About three o'clock Hazel, George & Minnie went home. Marjory & Earl went down with Laurence. The boys listened on the Radio to the World Series. The boys did chores while Jimmy & I went down to Liddle's. David is sick. Did not anyone go to Argyle at nite."

Mon. Oct. 6: "Florence went to school. We got up early. In the nite about half past ten John Liddle came up after me. David died about quarter past eleven. They had Dr. Tiltson from Fort Edward. Dave & Viola Scally were their. John & Emma Foster, Mrs. J. Bussing. I came up with John T's. folks about three o'clock. Jimmy took Oliver down to school. I rode down to Liddle's with them. Jimmy went on down to S. Argyle. Then came home & went down to Claytons got his clothes to go to the Falls. He came down after me after dinner. Then he went to the Falls to get a window put in his car. Busy went with him. They brought Oliver home from school. In the P.M. I made Jimmy a birthday cake. Johnny chored around in the A.M. Drew in corn in the P.M. at nite I fixed some flowers for the funeral tomorrow."

Tues. Oct. 7: "We got up early. We did up the house work. Jimmy took Oliver down to school. Busy & I rode down to Liddles with him. We worked around. Jimmy & Walt. D. went down to the Barber Shop. Elsie was their. Hank B. was their fixing the front porch. We stayed for dinner, was doing the dishes when Jimmy & Walt. come. Then we came home. Florence went to school in the A.M. They did not have any school in the P.M. I fixed up some flowers for Rita we took them to the funeral. Johnny drew in corn in the A.M. We all went down to David Liddle's Funeral at Two o'clock. Grace Green went with us. Laurence came up. We went in Jimmy's car. and with Laurence. H., G., & M. was their. We all went to the cemetary. I stopped to Liddles on our way home. Helped get straitened around. They came down & got me The boys did chores."

Wed. Oct. 8: (Marjory's handwriting) "We got up early. Florence went to school. Jimmy went to help Cayton dig potatoes. Oliver didn't go to school because he was sick. The boys & girls picked up 16 bu. of cider apples. The boys & Busy drawed in corn from up on the hill behind the barn. In the afternoon the boys drawed in corn from down to the other house. The boys listened to last game of the World Series. The A's won. Marjory & Earl & Busy & I went to Fort Edward. We stopped & got Florence so she could go to the barber shop. We took the apples to the cider mill. We brought home some feed from Fort Edward. We brought Oliver home. We went out to the barn and husked corn."

Thurs. Oct. 9: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Busy & I took Oliver down to Jablonski's. When we come back we stopped to Liddle's a while. On the way home we brought one of the old desks from the school house. I made chow-chow & tomatoe pickles. Busy picked apples & Johnny dug potatoes. Mr. Jones, Johnnys insurance man came along to see Johnny. At noon Jimmy came down from Clayton's. He is not feeling good. He helped Johnny some in P.M. Marjory took Jimmy down to Claytons' to get his car. Then Jimmy went down after Oliver. They drawed in the potatoes. At nite we went out to the barn & husked corn."

Fri. Oct. 10: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Busy & I took Oliver down to Jablonski's. On our way home we met John Liddle. We talked to him about vacation. Then we stopped to the school house and talked to Miss Irwin. John McKernon came down to see about making out papers about the transportation of the high school students. I saw Fred Darfler and we are going to have potato digging vacation next week. Johnny dug some potatoes. He drew them in in the P.M. drew over the corn we husked. Then drew back some oats over to the horse barn. About four o'clock we all went to Argyle. The boys were going to play ball. But they didnt. So we came back home. Eddie come with us. Jimmy went to Clayton's this morning. He was here when we got home. The boys did chores. Oliver, Johnny & Busy went to Argyle. Busy went to Grange. McKernons came down a while at nite."

Sat. Oct. 11: (Oliver's handwriting) "We got up early and Johnny and Oliver went to digging potatoes and Jimmy went down to John Liddles and he stayed for dinner and he got Back about 3

O clock and I baked bread and Eddy and Florence and Busy picked potatoes and Eddy Picked 10 bu and Busy & Florence Picked apples and about 3 O clock Lawrence came up and Marjory went down with him had a surprise Party for Margaret and they drawed in the potatoes and we had supper and then the boys done the chores. At night the kids played school after supper."

Sun. Oct. 12: "We didn't get up very early and there is no church today and Johnny, Oliver, Florence and Mary and Eddy went down to pick walnuts and then we had dinner and then Mrs. Pendergrass called on the Phone and wanted 2 bu Pound sweet apples and we went for a ride and we took the apples over to Pendergrass, and we went on for a ride over through durkey-town and down the south ridge and up through by Yarters, and Florence stayed down to Marions when we came back and we stoped down to John Liddles and then we went up to Clares to look for the young cattle and Jimmy went down to Claytons and John went to get some water for the milk house and Harrys Folk came along and we went to Christian Endeavor. and we brought Helen home with us."

Mon. Oct. 13: "we got up early and the boys went down to John Liddles and they dug potatoes and they dug 87 bu and Oliver went to school with John MacKernon and the women done the washing, they had a big washing and after dinner Marion and the children came up after Helen and the Boys didn't get home very early and we had supper and then the boys done the chores."

Tues. Oct. 14: "We got up early and we went down to John Liddles and loaded the digger on our hay rack and brought it up and John dug with his team in the forenoon and in the afternoon we dug with both teams and Edna and the kids came up in the morning and Busy and Florence Picked Potatoes and Edna and Marjory picked Potatoes and Marjory took Jimmy's car and went down after Oliver and got some cider and we got 125 bushel today, we had supper and then the boys done the chores."

Wed. Oct. 15: (Busy's handwriting) "We got up early. It is raining. Rained quite a lot last nite. Jimmy took Oliver down to Jablonski. On the way back he stopped to Liddles a while. We did up the house work. Jimmy, Johnny, Florence, Busy & I went over to the big barn to husk corn. The boys took the corn down to the corn house and dumped it. After dinner Jimmy and I went down to Argyle to see about a few things. We brought Oliver home. We brought the Jablonski kids. In the P.M. Johnny, Florence & Busy husk some corn. The boys did chores then we had supper. Clayton come up to see Jimmy."

Thurs. Oct. 16: "We got up early. Johnny took Oliver down to Jablonski's. On the way back he stopped to Liddles and helped saw wood. We did up the work. Marion and Ruth & Dorothy came up so she could do her washing. Jimmy dug potatoes by hand in A.M. Florence picked them." (Marjory's handwriting) "After dinner John LIddle's folks come up. They dug potatoes with the digger. The rest picked them. Marion & Dorothy went home after dinner. Ruth stayed up until they went after Oliver. They dug 97 bu. of potatoes."

Fri. Oct. 17: "We got up early. Florence, Mary & I took Oliver to school. The boys went to J. Liddle's to dig potatoes. After dinner Marjory & I took Florence & Mary down to J. Liddle's to pick potatoes. They stayed down until chore-time. We had a thunder shower that night."

Sat. Oct. 18: "The boys took the Nash and went down to Liddle's to dig potatoes. In the forenoon Marjory & I took Jimmy's car and went to Salem. We went on to Sushan to see John Chamberlain about business. They got back about noon. After dinner Marjory took Florence & Mary down to Liddle's to pick potatoes. They came back about chore-time. After they got the chores done we went to Greenwich on business. Marjory went down to the other house and gathered the pumpkins up. It was getting cold. When we got back to Argyle something went wrong with the car. Guy Barkley came to fix it."

Sun. Oct. 19: "27º above zero It is Ruth's birthday and it is Rally Day at church. Jimmy wasn't feeling so good so I telephoned out to Doctor Tillotson. We had to be out there at ten o'clock to see him. Johnny, Oliver & Florence went down to pick up some walnuts. They got about 11 qts. We all went to church. Hazel, George & Minnie came down to church but they went home after church. The young people didn't go to C. E. at night. It was cold last night but it is colder tonight. Fred Darfler said that one of the Nichols had scarlet Fever."

Mon. Oct. 20: "26º above zero. We did the washing in the forenoon. Oliver rode to school with John MacKernon's. Florence didn't go to school in the morning on account of the Scarlet Fever but the trustee came along and said there was no dander and so she went to school. It was about half past nine. a little later the Doctor called and said the school would be closed for this week. So the children all went home. Johnny & Jimmy went down to Liddles this morning. Jimmy came back and went to see if he could find some help after dinner. Jimmy, Mary & Florence went down to Liddle's. Jimmy went after Oliver and they all came home with him."

Tues. Oct. 21: "Snowed a little today. Oliver didn't go to school. He went down to J. Liddle's to help him with the potatoes. He had enough help without Oliver so Oliver came home. Dave Dickson come to help dig potatoes. Johnny & Oliver & Jimmy dug too. The girls picked them"

Wed. Oct. 22: "Oliver stayed home to help dig potatoes. Jimmy, Johnny & Oliver dug potatoes. The girls picked them. Garry came up to see about fixing the rooms up-stairs. In the afternoon Jimmy went to Fort Edward to get feed."

Thurs. Oct. 23: "There isn't any school today or tomorrow because it is a teachers conference. John Liddle brought his team & the digger up. They dug with the digger in the A.M. It didn't work very good so they all dug by hand in P.M. In the afternoon John Liddle went up to Clare's to help get the engine started to thrash. Burton Wrye came down to work in his place. Today is Laurence's birthday so in P.M. Jimmy took Marjory & Earl down to MacWhorter's. Johnny & Oliver went to Argyle at nite to a show at Argyle."

Fri. Oct. 24: "Today we set up a stove in the setting room. It rained today so the boys didn't work at the potatoes. In the P.M. Garry came up with the plaster-board for the rooms up-stairs. We went out to the barn and finished husking corn. The boys drawed the husks from the horse-barn over to the big-barn. They drawed the corn over to the corn house. They drawed up some apples from the orchard that the girls had picked."

Sat. Oct. 25: "Snowed a little today. It is rainy so the boys can't work at the potatoes. Garry came to put the plaster-board on the rooms up-stairs. He got Jimmie's room nearly done. In A.M. the boys dumped corn & chored around. In P.M. Jimmy went down to Clayton's to get the rest of his things. While he was gone Johnny, Oliver & Florence went up after the young cattle because it was raining & was awful cold. Mary went down to Marion's with Garry. Ed has gone up north hunting."

Sun. Oct. 26: "We didn't get up very early. Johnny, Oliver & Florence went down & picked 33 qts of Walnuts. We didn't go to church. Aunt Em, Leona & Harry came up to tell us & telephone to other relation that Aunt Mary Eliza was dead. The boys went up to Lincoln MacNeil's to see about getting the digger. At night we went down to C. E. Mary come home with us. We had a flat tire on the Nash going down."

Mon. Oct. 27: "Florence went to school. Oliver went to school. He rode down with McKernon's. Jimmy & Johnny & John L. & Charlie Fisher dug potatoes. They dug some with the digger in the P.M. Garry came up this forenoon. He finished up Jimmy's room & put the plaster-board on over head in Mary's room. In P.M we cleaned up Jimmies room & set the bed up. Garry had to go away at noon because someone came after him. Marjory went down after Oliver. The girls picked up potatoes after Florence got home from school. Edna & Florence came up after the rest."

Tues. Oct. 28: "Florence went to school. Jimmy took Oliver to school & Mother came home with him. The boys chored around in A.M In P.M. Hazel, George & Minnie came down. Minnie stayed here. Hazel & George took Mother & I over to Aunt Mary Eliza's funeral. John & Edna & Florence Liddle came up. The boys dug potatoes in P.M. Edna & Mary picked them. At night we all went to Argyle. I kept Earl at Marion's. Mother went down with us. The rest went to a C. E. rally at the Church. Putnam, Greenwich, Hebron, North & South Argyle & Argyle were there."

Wed. Oct. 29: "Florence & Oliver went to school. Jimmy, Johnny, John L. & Walter Demming dug potatoes by hand. The girls picked them. Edna & Florence L. was up all day. Edna, Marion, Marjory, Florence & I all went down to Argyle. We brought Oliver home. I had to go to the bank. Lawrence Scally came down with scarlet fever."

Thurs. Oct. 30: "Mary, Florence & I took Oliver down to Blanch's. The doctor was to Dave Scalleys and told us to tell the trustee to close the school. John L.'s folks all came up & Walter D. & Charlie Fisher came & they all dug potatoes. They dug all of Jimmies & Johnnies potatoes. They had 136 bushel. Marjory went down after Oliver."

Fri. Oct. 31: "In the morning Johnny & Jimmy finished digging the rest of the potatoes down in the corner of the potato field. The boys & Mary went down and picked up cider apples. After dinner Jimmy took the team & took down a load of cider apples. Oliver came home with him. At night Jimmy & Johnny went to a card party & dance at Argyle. Florence is about sick today, sore throat & stiff neck."

Sat. Nov. 1: "In the forenoon the boys picked apples & chored around. In the afternoon Jimmy took the Boss potatoe digger back up to McNeil's & the coverer up to Clayton's upper place. When he came back they drew in the apples in the cellar."

Sun. Nov. 2: "Jimmy & Johnny went to church. Marjory & Earl went down with them. While they were gone Hazel, George & Minnie came down but didn't come in because Florence didn't feel very well. They went on down to Marion's & Mother's. After dinner we all all went down to pick walnuts. We got 24 qts. At night we all went down to Argyle. They all went to C. E. but Florence, Earl & I. We stayed to Mothers. Florence is feeling better today."

Mon. Nov. 3: "Johnny & Florence took Oliver down to school. We did the Washing. We didn't wash last week. The cloths all got dry & we did the ironing. Johnny isn't feeling very well today. In the A.M. Jimmy went down to John L.'s to get a plow. At noon Garry came up to finish the plastering in Mary's room & to put slate on the roof of the house. Jimmy helped Garry. Johnny & Florence went to Fort Edward to get grain. They brought Oliver home with them."

Tues. Nov. 4: (Georgiana's handwriting) "Jimmy started plowing today. He plowed in the clover field up beside the lane field. Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. I baked this A.M. Busy cleaned up her room. Moped in Jimmy's room & Johnny's. After dinner we shook the rug in Busy's room & put it down. Then Jimmy, Marjory, Earl & I went down to vote. Busy & Florence raked up leaves. We brought Oliver home."

Wed. Nov. 5: "Jimmy & Florence took Oliver down to school. It is raining. Jimmy plowed some in A.M. I took up some plants out of the plant boxes out doors and set them in dishes in the house. Got all I want for this winter. We did some mending. Johnny & Florence went down after Oliver. Johnny is feeling better."

Thurs. Nov. 6: "Oliver & Busy rode down with Laurence. Oliver is going to school. Busy is going to help Marion today. In the A.M. they fixed up the windows in the cow stable. They picked apples. Marjory, Earl, Florence & I went down to Argyle. Took some apples to Halls. We brought Oliver & Busy home. After we got home the boys draw in the apples they picked to the cellar. They drew the apples from the wagon house over to the cellar. They brought the young cattle down as it is awful cold."

Fri. Nov. 7: "18º above zero. Oliver & Busy rode down with Laurence. Oliver is going to school. Busy is going to help Marion. The boys & Florence picked up cider apples. Marjory did the cleaning. I baked some. In the P.M. Johnny chored around. Jimmy took down a load of cider apples. Oliver came home with him. At nite Jimmy & Johnny went down to Argyle to a card party and dance. Busy came home with them."

Sat. Nov. 8: (Busy's handwriting) "The boys chored around in the A.M. Jimmy & Johnny went down to Liddle's a while to see about sawing the wood down to the McAuley place. But the saw was broke. We did up the house work. And in the P.M. Johnny, Florence, Busy, Marjory, Earl & I all went to Argyle. Johnny went to the Fort with a grist. We went to church. Marjory & Laurence had Earl Baptized. Mary, & Earl stayed down to McW and came up with Laurence at nite. In the P.M. Jimmy & Oliver drew manure down to the McAuley place."

Sun. Nov. 9: "Jimmy, Marjory, Earl & I all went to church. It is communion. Johnny, Oliver, Florence & Busy picked up walnuts. They got ten quarts. It is warm. At nite we all went to Argyle. Florence & I stayed at Mothers and kept Earl. After C. E. Busy, Johnny, Jimmy & Oliver went to a church thing to the M. E. Church."

Mon. Nov. 10: "We did a big washing. Jimmy took Oliver down to school. And stayed down a while looking for a job. Then he went down to Claytons after he got back. But did not get any job. The girls did the ironing. And I mended. Busy, Florence & I went down after Oliver. In the P.M. Jimmy plowed. In the A.M. Johnny chored around. In the P.M. Johnny picked Ben. Davis Apples."

Tues. Nov. 11: "Oliver rode down to school with Laurence. In the forenoon Jimmy went out the Hudson Falls and Glens Falls and sold 100 Bushel potatoes to go tomorrow. While he was gone a man came along and said that they were coming tomorrow to White Wash the stables. In the P.M. the boys sorted potatoes. The girls helped some too. Johnny, Florence & Busy swepted down cobwebs and cleaned over in the cow barn. Oliver stayed down until nite. Marjory, Earl, Florence, Busy & I went to Argyle to a chicken pie supper down at the U. P. Church. The boys came to Argyle after they got the chores done. They went to the show. We came home about 9 o'clock."

Wed. Nov. 12: "We got up early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. They sorted potatoes and got the barn all cleaned out. Jimmy went down to Argyle after Ed. Mac. E.'s truck. In the afternoon right after dinner Jimmy took 100 Bushel of potatoes to Hudson Falls & Glens Falls at 90 cents a bushel. He brought Oliver home from school with him. At noon the men came to White Wash the stables. We started to wash the windows before they put them back in. We washed some. But it was too much of a job. Jimmy took the crib down for Eddie to sleep in."

Thurs. Nov. 13: "We did not get up very early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. Howard M. came in the morning to use the telephone. The boys drawed sawdust from the ice house over in the cellar. They worked at it nearly all day. After dinner Nate. Weaver came to use the telephone and stayed a while. I fixed up the tick for the crib. We filled it with straw. So when Marjory, Earl, Florence & Busy went to Argyle after Oliver they took the clothes for the crib. Mr. McKinney came with Florence's & Busy's insurance paper and got a few cider apples. Lillian Day came to use the phone. and stayed a while."

Fri. Nov. 14: "Oliver and Busy went down with Laurence. Busy went to help Marion. The boys finished dumping to sawdust. They picked up some apples. Jimmy went out to the Falls to get the rest of the money for the potatoes. Marjory & Earl went with him. They stayed down to McWhorters to a party. Mr. Kelleher came after some potatoes in the P.M. Jimmy brought Oliver and Busy home. At nite the boys went to the show. Busy went down to Grange. I am making Florence at Red Jacket out of an old coat of Ruby's."

Sat. Nov. 15: "We did up the house work. I baked bread. I churned. The boys went out to the Falls to look at cars. Oliver chored around. Hazel & Minnie came down in the forenoon. Hazel & Florence picked some walnuts. After dinner a while Jimmy & Jimmy came out with a new chevrolet. We all went for a ride. They took it back and looked at a cheaper car. But didn't bring any home. Only Jimmys car that they took in the morning. Hazel & Minnie went home about three o'clock they waited until I got some biscuits baked. So they took some home. Blue cow had a calf. Oliver, Florence & Busy went down got them."

Sun. Nov. 16: "We did not get up very early. We did not go to church. Or go any where all day. At nite we all went to Argyle. Florence and I kept Earl at Mothers."

Mon. Nov. 17: "We got up early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did not wash because its rainy. We did up the house work. The boys chored around. John Liddle and some other guy came up after John L's old car. After dinner Jimmy, Johnny, Florence and I took the Nash out to the Falls at the Empire Garage and we traded for the Dodge. A 1928 four cylinder Dodge. We brought Oliver home. On our way out we took a few cider apples. And brought home two milk cans of cider to put in the vinegar barrel. At nite Johnny, Oliver, Florence, Marjory, Earl & Busy went up to McKernons to get the money for cleaning school house and taking school census."

Tues. Nov. 18: "Oliver and Busy rode down with Laurence. Busy went to Marions. We did up the house work. The boys chored around in the A.M. In the afternoon Jimmy went out to the Falls he took the Dodge to get the lights fixed on it and a part for his car. He came back to Argyle and brought Busy home. Oliver went with Ed. to help unload coal. He came up with Laurence at nite. Johnny & Jimmy went away at nite. In the P.M. Johnny drew manure down to the McAuley place. I have been working on Florences Jacket."

Wed. Nov. 19: "We did not get up very early. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We washed not a very big washing. none of the bed close. They did not get dry, very many of them. The girls did some of the ironing. Johnny drew manure down to the other place. Jimmy fixed his car. Jimmy plowed. Johnny chored around in the P.M. Busy, Florence, Earl, Marjory, & I went down after Oliver. We went to Marions and Mothers. About seven o'clock Jennie called from Fort Edward that she was coming out to Mothers for tonite. go back in the morn. Johnny, Oliver, Florence & I went down to see her."

Thurs. Nov. 20: "Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did up the house work. About ten o'clock us women folks went up to Hazels. In the morning Bill & Joe Crosier came and they picked cider apples. Johnny picked some apples. Johnny picked some apples and chored around and Jimmy plowed. We came back to Argyle and brought Oliver home from school. We took down the clothes and brought them all in the house after we got home."

Fri. Nov. 21: "Busy & Oliver rode down with Laurence. Busy went to Marions to help her. In the A.M. we did up the house work. Johnny chored around. Jimmy plowed. After dinner Marjory, Earl, Florence, Jimmy & I went to Argyle. Jimmy & I went to Fred MIller's Sr. Funeral. In the P.M. Hazel, Minnie, Aunt Mary and Net. came to Argyle. They were to Marions. Floss was their she rode up from the funeral with us. Busy stayed down to Marions until nite. At nite we all went to Argyle. Marjory, Florence, Jimmy & I went to the pagant to the M. E. Church. After that Marjory, Laurence went to the U. P. church to a social. The rest went to a dance I went to the hall when Marj. & L. came home. I worked on Florence's Jacket and made her a cap like the Jacket."

Sat. Nov. 22: "We did not get up very early. We did up the house work. I baked bread. In the A.M. Jimmy plowed. Johnny & Oliver cleaned out the well down to the school house. Laurence came up before dinner to get some apples. The boys went back to clean the well in the P.M. Jimmy plowed. about two oclock Laurence went home Marjory went with him they are going to the Falls tonite. Busy churned. I worked on Florences Jacket. I finished it, all except pressing. I laid on the lounge in the sitting until Marjory & Laurence got home. Marjory got a new coat."

Sun. Nov. 23: "We all went to church. Marjory and Earl stayed down to McWhorters in the afternoon. Florence stayed for Sabbath School. So we waited except Jimmy and Busy came home. Dotie came up with them. They got dinner. We had dinner after we got home. Jimmy, Johnny, Oliver, Rolland McD. went out to the show. Busy & Florence got the cows in. The boys came home and done chores. Then we went to Argyle at nite. I kept Earl at Mothers. The rest went to C. E. In the P.M. I pressed Florence's new cap and jacket."

Mon. Nov. 24: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Jimmy went to sell some potatoes. Oliver rode down with him. We did a big washing. Johnny plowed and chored around. The girls did the ironing. Marion sent up some clothes last nite. We washed and ironed them. The clothes all got dry. It is a good day. We did some mending. Jimmy came back to Argyle time to bring Oliver home from school."

Tues. Nov. 25: "Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. Florence went to school. In the forenoon the boys chored around. About eleven o'clock it started snowing. It snowed until two or three o'clock. Jimmy was going up with a load of potatoes it was so stormy he did not go. Jimmy went down after Oliver. Johnny chored around. I cut out a pair of Overalls or a heavy suit to wear out doors for Earl . The girls did up the house work. Did some mending etc."

Wed. Nov. 26: "We got up early. Jimmy went with a load of potatoes up to Lake George. He took Oliver down to school. Oliver didn't have any school in the P.M. or Thursday or Friday. Jimmy brought him home after noon. Florence went to school In the A.M. Johnny drew manure. In the P.M. the boys drew manure. I finished making Earls suit today. At nite Jimmy & Johnny went out to the show and to the Fish & Game Club Hall to a dance. The rest of us went down to Marions and stayed until about eleven o'clock."

Thurs. Nov. 27: "Snow about 4 inches deep. We did not get up very early. Marjory & Earl went down with Laurence. They are going up to Black's for dinner. The boys drew manure and did chores in the A.M. We did up the house work. We had our dinner all by ourselves. After dinner we went for a ride down around the lake and back by Argyle and home. The boys did the chores early and we went out to "Amos n' Andy". It snowed awful before noon. And is very cold."

Fri. Nov. 28: "6º above zero. Florence went to school. Busy rode down with Laurence. She is going to Marions to help her. We did up the house work. Marjory swept around. And we set up the stove in Marjory's room. The boys chored around. Jimmy took a load of potatoes up to Lake George. Johnny & Oliver fixed up down in under the horse stable for the pigs. They took them over. And they fixed up the hog pen. And put the hens and turkeys in as it is awful cold. Johnny & Jimmy went to Argyle to the dance. And brought Busy home."

Sat. Nov. 29: "2º below zero. We did not get up very early. We did up the house work, churned, Etc. The boys chored around and Jimmy drew some manure. In the afternoon Johnny, Florence and I went to Argyle. Johnny took some corn and oats out to the Fort to get ground for the Young cattle. Jennie came to Argyle Thursday nite. We went down to see her as she goes back tomorrow. It is very cold. After we got home. The boys did chores. And we all stayed home at nite. Mary & Lewis took Dotie home with them this morning to stay a while."

Sun. Nov. 30: "24º above zero Oliver's face is swellin' from tooth ache so he did not go to church. We stayed to Marions. We did not get up very early. We all went to Argyle. All went to church except Marjory and Earl they went to Mothers. We did not stay for Sabbath School. Hazel, Minnie & George were to Marions. The came up here for dinner. Helen & Ruth came home with us. Marjory & Earl stayed down to McW's. in the P.M. Jimmy stayed down to Mothers for dinner and he took Jennie out to the train. We did not go to Argyle at nite. as it is very rainy, windy & cold. Helen & Ruth stayed all nite. Marjory, Earl & Laurence came up later. After C. E. Jimmy came home."

Mon. Dec. 1: "We got up early. Florence went to school. Oliver did not go as his face is swelling from a tooth ache. He chored around all day. We washed. The clothes did not dry very good. The girls ironed some. We brought them all up on the steps at nite. Johnny chored around. Jimmy plowed some. It is very windy and quite cold. After the boys got chores done and we had supper they could not find Ned. They went down to John Liddles a while. They found Ned over to Harry place up on the hill in the corn field. Mary & Louie brought Dotie home yesterday. But she went back with them."

Tues. Dec. 2: "6º below Florence went to school. Oliver did not go as his face is still swellin' and is more. gone up under his eye. Marjory & Busy did the ironing. I baked some. The boys chored around all day. In the P.M. I made sleeves in Busy's Blue Dress. And I made Earl a waist. At nite we all stayed home."

Wed. Dec. 3: "13º above Florence went to school. Oliver did not go, as his face is still swellin some. We did up the house work. I finished making sleeves in busy's dress. The boys chored around and drew some manure. At nite we all went to Argyle. We went to Grange Fair. Marjory went over to Mrs. Gallups and got her hair cut. Oliver did not go to fair he went to the Barber Shop and got his hair cut. Helen, Eddie & Ruthie went to the fair with us. Some folks moved in our Tenant House today. Two children to go to school They are Gardner brothers. brothers of Frank. Mr. McKinney came as were ready to go to Argyle.

Thurs. Dec. 4: "Oliver went to school. He went down with Laurence. Florence went to school. We did up the house work. Busy made some candy for the Fair. I cracked walnuts for it. The boys chored around all day. At nite we all went to the Grange Fair. Oliver stayed down from school. Busy went with Helen & Ed. for supper. As we were ready to go to the fair John Liddles folks came a while. Mary & Louie brought Dotie home tonite. They took Ed's car home to come up tomorrow nite. It is warmer and a nice nite."

Fri. Dec. 5: "Florence went to school. Oliver went to school. He & Busy rode down with Laurence. Busy is going to Marions. Earl is sick. We did up the house work. The boys chored around. In the P.M. Jimmy took some potatoes up to Lake George. He brought Oliver home from school. At nite Jimmy & Johnny went to Argyle to the last nite of Grange Fair. Busy went to. And she came home with boys. It is warmer."

Sat. Dec. 6: "We did not get up very early. After breakfast John Liddle & Kids & Ralph McG. came a while. They wanted Johnny to help saw wood down to school house. As Ralph wanted John to carry mail. We did up the house work. Jimmy & Oliver chored around and drew manure. Laurence came up before dinner. Marjory went to Argyle with him after dinner as they are going to the Falls at nite. In the P.M. Mary, Louie, Lill. & Richard came up a while. Louie is going to try and make a grate for our kitchen stove. They did not stay very long."

Sun. Dec. 7: "We did not get up very early. We did not go to church. The boys did the chores before dinner. After dinner we all went as far as Argyle. We took both cars. Marjory & Earl went down to McWhorters. Jimmy left his car at Argyle. And we went for a ride. We went to Lake George, Lousern, up to Conkinville Damn, etc. We went ninety-five miles. We came back to Argyle Jimmy brought his car home. We did not go away at nite. It was to late. Johnny had to start the engine as the lights were low."

Mon. Dec. 8: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. We washed. In the forenoon the boys chored around. I helped them and we read up the wagon house. In the P.M. the boys went down to the McAuley place, them & John L. Hank & Edwin Bussing sawed the wood. They threw it in the barn. Jimmy brought up a load on the wagon with King & Queen. Marjory, Earl, Florence & Busy went down after Oliver. I sewed. The clothes did not any of them get dry. Johnny came up with them. Jimmy came later with the team."

Tues. Dec. 9: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. It rained off and on all day. We had to hurry and get the clothes down as they were all dry. The girls ironed. I baked and sowed. The boys did the chores in the A.M. After dinner Hazel, George & Minnie came down a while. To see if some one would come up Thursday. Johnny went to Fort Edward with a grist. Jimmy chopped some wood. Oliver did not come home with Johnny as he could not find him. Jimmy & Johnny went away at nite. Oliver came home with them."

Wed. Dec. 10: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. The boys did chores. We did up the house work. In the P.M. Johnny chored around. Jimmy drew manure down to the McAuley place. In the P.M. Marjory, Earl, Busy & I went down after Oliver. On the way home we run out of gas above John Liddles. We got some there. We did not any of us go away at nite. In the forenoon I fell down the steps. Am kinda lame."

Thurs. Dec. 11: "Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with Laurence. We did up the house work. I made sleeves for my purple dress. And I made Busy a new dress. The boys chored in the A.M. after dinner the boys did the chores. Then Jimmy & Busy went up to Hazels to stay with Minnie in the P.M. and at nite. Johnny took Jimmy's car and went after some grain. And brought Oliver home. The roads are quite slippery. It snowed about three inches. I am kinda lame today from my fall yesterday. Busy & Jimmy got stuck on Gillis' hill coming home L. L. helped them and they got up."

Fri. Dec. 12: "Florence went to school. Oliver & Busy went down with Laurence. Busy went to Marions. We did up the house work. The boys chored around. Jimmy took down a load of manure and brought back a load of wood. Jimmy & Johnny went down after Oliver & Busy. They got home allright. But they had to help Sherm. McNeil get up all the hills as he was ahead of them. All stayed home at nite. I am kinda lame but some better. I churned."

Sat. Dec. 13: "We did not get up very early. We did up the house work. The boys chored around. After dinner the mail man came he brought the things Johnny sent for. The boys put the new horn on. chain tightners on and frost protector on the windshield. They did chores. Jimmy & Johnny went away at nite. In the P.M. Florence & Busy took some mail down to the folks next house. That came in our box. Gardners is their name."

Sun. Dec. 14: (Marjory's handwriting) "About six o'clock we got a telephone call from Floss that Marion had a little baby boy. So Busy got ready and went down with Laurence. We did up house work. Then we got ready and went to Argyle. The boys went to church. Florence and I went to Marion's. She is getting along good. In P.M. we brought all the children home with us except Helen she was down to Lill's. Marjory & Earl stayed down. The boys did chores in P.M. and at nite. Then we went to Argyle. I went to Marion's because Busy had to lead in C. E. The rest went to C. E. & Helen went with them. Marion had quite a lot of company. The baby was born about 4:30 A.M. It weighed about 10 lbs. Busy stayed down."

Mon. Dec. 15: "Oliver rode down with Laurence. Florence went to school. We did the washing. We didn't get at it until kind of late because we had some trouble with the washing machine. They did not any of them get dry. So left the most of them out all night. The boys chored around. Jimmie went down after Oliver and Marjory went down with him. And at night she went down to Lill Johnson's to a shower for Irene McClay. The boys did chores at night. We all stayed at home. It was awful cold at night. Marion is getting nicely."

Tues. Dec. 16: "Oliver rode down with Laurence. Florence went to school. Miss Irwin called to see if she could stay tonight. I told her she could. The boys did chores. We did up the house work. Marjory did the ironing. I did baking. I kind of cleaned up Busy's room so the teacher could sleep there. The boys chored around and fixed up the horse stable and made it warmer for the horses. Oliver stayed down from school until night. The boys went away and when they came home they brought Oliver. It was real cold all day. It was a good day."

Wed. Dec. 17: "Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. The boys chored around. We did up the house work. In the afternoon Jimmie went to Glens Falls and made the payment on the car. And when he came back he brought some feed and groceries. I went down to Marion's and stayed all afternoon. Johnnie chored around. After school all the Liddle children came up here because John & Edna had gone to Glens Falls. They went home before dark. It was a good day. Miss Irwin stayed tonight."

Thurs. Dec. 18: "Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. Florence and Miss Irwin went to school. The boys chored around. In the afternoon Jimmie went out to Fort Edward and brought home the rest of the feed. Six hundred. He brought Oliver home when he came home. I cut out a suit for Earl and partly made it today. Miss Irwin did not stay tonight. After school all the Liddle children came up here because John & Edna had gone to Glens Falls. They stayed for supper. About seven o'clock John came after them. After that we got ready and went to Argyle. We all except Marjory & Earl went to a C. E. play in Town Hall. It was real good. It was a good day."

Fri. Dec. 19: "Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. Florence went to school. The boys chored around in the forenoon. We did the house work. In the afternoon Jimmie took out a load of potatoes out and tried to sell them. He had to trade out the most of them. He did not get home until about dark. He brought Oliver home with him. Johnnie did chores. We churned and I made some of Earl's suit. It was a good day. The boys went to the dance at Argyle."

Sat. Dec. 20: "The boys did chores. We did up the house work. The boys hitched up the team on the bob sleighs and went to the Lower place and brought up the last of the wood. In the morning the boys took Jimmie's car and went down to the lower barn and get out the bob sleigh. The boys did chores early and we got ready and went to Argyle and got Busy and drew names. Then we went to Glens Falls to do some Xmas shopping. It was a good day."

Sun. Dec. 21: "The boys did the chores. We got ready and went to church. Florence and the children except Dot went to Sunday School. We brought Dot home with us in the afternoon. The boys did chores. At night we went to Argyle. I stayed to Mother's and kept Earl. It was a good day but at night it was snowing But did not amount to much."

Mon. Dec. 22: "Oliver rode down with Laurence to school. Florence went to school. We done the washing in A.M. The boys chored around in A.M. In after noon Jimmy & I went to Argyle. I had to go to the bank on business. I went to Marion's and stayed until Oliver got out of school. The teacher came to stay this week. Marjory did quite a bit of the ironing. I telephoned out to Prior's Market this morning & sold my two young gobblers. At night after supper the boys went down and got John L. to come up and help them dress them. It was a good day."

Tues. Dec. 23: "Oliver rode down with Laurence. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Johnnie & I went to Fort Edward and took the turkey's out. I did some Xmas shopping. We came back to Argyle in afternoon. I went to Marion's and Johnnie went to the Christmas tree at the High School. I forgot some packages out to the Fort and after school Johnnie and Oliver went out after them. We got home about five o'clock. Jimmie drew manure all day and did chores. Marjory finished the house work and the ironing and got the clothes all down. It was a good day. After supper the two boys did chores & Jimmie took Marjory to Argyle because her & Busy were going to the Falls with Laurence."

Wed. Dec. 24: "Florence and Miss Irwin went to school. Oliver did not have any. We did up the house work. The boys did chores. Jimmie drew manure. In the afternoon Marjory, Earl, & I went down to the Christmas tree to the school house. At night the boys went to Argyle. It was a good day but not very cold. Busy came home home tonight with Jimmy."

Thurs. Dec. 25: "The boys did chores. We did the house work. We made ice cream. After breakfast we opened our Xmas presents. Laurence and Mother came up for dinner. When they went home Marjory & Earl went down with them to McWhorter's. Jimmie drew a couple loads of manure in the afternoon. The boys did chores early at night then we went down to Marion's. Busy stayed because Ruth is not feeling very good. It was a good day but not very cold. Darfler said this morning that Teressa had scarlet fever and he wanted Johnnie to start fires at school."

Fri. Dec. 26: "The boys did chores. We did the housework. The boys sorted ten bushel of potatoes in forenoon and Johnnie took them out to Theobo. He got a new axe. The boys did chores and went to school house and started fire to see how the heater worked. It snowed about all afternoon. We had lunch at noon and dinner at night. The boys all went out to the show at night. John Liddle and family came up at night and stayed about an hour and half."

Sat. Dec. 27: "The boys did chores and then they went to lower place and chopped wood. We did up the house work, baked and mopped. After dinner Florence, Marjory, Earl & I got ready and went to Argyle. Earl & I stayed at Marion's while the rest went down to the church to the S. S. Christmas party. The boys cut wood in afternoon. It was about dark when we got home. The boys did chores and then we had supper then went to bed. It was a good day and not very cold."

Sun. Dec. 28: "The boys did chores. We did up the house work. We did not any of us go to church. We thought we would go over to see Lydia B. in P.M. but was kind of lame and tired so did not go. At night we went to Argyle. The young folks went to C. E. I stayed to Marion's & put the kids to bed. It was a good day except snowed a little bit. Hazel, George, Minnie were down to church and they took Dorothy and Eddy home with them."

Mon. Dec. 29: "The boys did chores. We did up the house work. We got ready and washed but did not get at it very early. The boys cut wood all day. We washed the curtains in sitting room and bedrooms down stairs. We got them all ironed and did most of the rest of the ironing. It was a good day. Florence went to school. The teacher came to stay. Johnnie started fire at school house this morning for the first."

Tues. Dec. 30: "The boys did chores. Johnnie went to school house and started fire. Florence and teacher went to school. We did up the house work and finished the ironing. The boys cut wood all day. At noon the boys brought out the big sitting room stove and we set it up. We sort of cleaned in sitting a little. Marjory swept all over up stairs. It was a good day."

Wed. Dec. 31: "The boys did chores. Johnnie went to school house and started fire. Florence and Miss Irwin went to school. We did up the house work. We washed windows & cleaned up in bedroom and sitting room. Then put up ten curtains. In P.M. Jimmie went to Hudson Falls and got the license for the Dodge. The other boys cut wood. I churned. At night Earl and I stayed home and the rest of the young folks went down to the parsonage to C. E. chirstmas tree. They brought home Marion's ice cream freezer. Busy came home too. I cooked ice cream. Set bread. The boys killed the gobbler and picked him. I dressed him and cooked him partly Weighed 25 lbs"
